Nothing beats seeing Kagura's legendary Yato rampage and Gintoki's brutal fights re-animated with a movie budget. Truly a terrifying masterpiece!

I kinda like the old one better. Sure, the new one is flashier, but old one felt heavier, also keeping the lights on was a better decision.

Or Courtesan of a Nation arc, imo.

I really like the enunciation Abuto had in the original run. It just had a lot of gravitas and levity to it. Just the way emphasis and extends some sounds. And I think the pace is better in the original too.

Otherwise, more Gintama is great! Love the new look for Gintoki. The animation is awesome! My favorite is the Kagura berserk fight.

Just finished watching it.

Zura scenes were funny and the shameless Demon Slayer parody at the beginning was great!

Didn’t really care for the Shinsengumi subplot.

It wasn’t all bad - Kagura v Abuto had some decent animation, same with Kamui v Housen and the final fight with Housen

I love the Bursting Peach trio. Paako best girl

I was so happy to see Takasugi in the post-credits!!!!!

Overall, it was fine. I preferred the Benizakura movie. It was nice to get more Gintama anime content

Edit - there’ll be a ‘super blaze’ version of the movie coming out in Japanese cinemas in late September. It’s not going to have any major additions - just some visual improvements.  https://www.anime-gintama.com/movie2026/news/post.php?id=24021

I really liked how the shinsegui side plot helped improve the pacing along with the zura scenes. the new kamui vs kagura, shinpachi, katura fight helped fix a issue in the plot i had previously about why kamui would be interested in gin helping make kagura stronger.

Finally watched! Visually it was amazing and stylish. I haven't watched the tv in so long, but they covered the most memorable scenes. It was a treat watching the Kagura fight reanimated with insane animation. Shinsengumi subplot weren't necessary but since it's a movie, they are a fan favorite (they were in Benizakura movie too). Maybe they should have their own arc made into film. That Your Name reference was hilarious.
