Inquisitor Draxus for my Custodes army. I wanted to recreate her in a style I personally prefer. She's a kitbash using parts from Draxus and a Sisters of Battle Imagifier, with a 3D-printed head.

Ok so I got some Vertus Praetors and one of the bases was entirely the wrong size and shape. Has anyone else ever had this kind of thing happen? It’s not really a big deal since I can either 3d print the right size base or use the clear ones but it’s weird.

Finally finished another new custodian of the Sentinel Guard. Tried experimenting with resin on the base, pretty happy with how it turned out.

Ignore the battery my light wasn't optimal :). The head is from a storm cast eternal set I can't remember which one.

So just a quick back story yesterday played a friend at 40k for about 1500 points. I was 1515 he was 1505. His army was blood angels and I dont exactly know the detachment or models / units but ill try my best to fill in what I know. I was super excited to try out custodes and have been playing some TTS to practice their rules. Well needless to say it went pretty good. But my question is, are they usually this good or was my dice rolls just better than his.

The game started and I deployed first. I only had 3 drops and 1 unit in reserves. He had like 7 drops. I know he had a dreadnought, he had like 30 of the jump pack guys some intercessors and some death company. He had a couple characters. Chaplin with jump pack, captian with jump pack, Dante, Lemartes. He was feeling pretty confident and honestly i was nervous.

Round one was very cagey both him and myself just kind of hid. I left one unit of Wardens on home, 1 unit of Warden took center and Trajann plus Guard took expansion and terminators in reserve.

Round 2 is where the slaughter happened. He rushed his 2 units of jump pack dudes including dante and surrounded trajann ( i honestly dont know who was who because none of his models were painted and they all had jump packs) and then his other 2 units with chaplain and captain surrounded my Warden and Blade champ. He fought me with the unit not including dante and took out 2 Guard. I then used 2 CP and used counter offense so Trajann and the remaining Guard had a chance to live. I used Trajann once per game 12 attack ability and completly wiped out his unit of guys woth dante. He was pissed. He then fought my warden units and i used the once per game 4++ feel no pain. 1 warden died from the onslaught. I fight back and kill about 5 models.

My turn 2 was deadly. Trajann lived with 1 hp and finished off the other unit entirety by himself. My friend was in disbelief that Trajann wiped almost 2 of his units alone. My terminators used rapid ingress on his movement phase and was able to 1 shot his dreadnought and take his home objective. My second unit of wardens and blade champ went to assit the first unit of warden and blade champ and after they all fought his squads were wiped. By end of round 2 he had 2 units left and I still had all of mine up because Trajann lived on 1 hp. He conceded after the end of my round 2.

All in all I had a lot of fun but walked away feeling bad for him because I wiped out almost his entire army in 1 turn. Does anyone have this experience or was i just lucky with my movement/ dice rolls?

Am I stupid or is this rule straight up not useable? Aircraft now always make an ingress move, so it can just never be triggered right?

I hosted my own blood games because I needed to test stuff and what better to test against than the Emperor’s finest…

So first up we had a king of the ring style 1v1’s between the captains and a blade champ

SC w/ spear and shield beat the BC. A little too easy for my liking.

Allarus SC beat the Vertus SC. Without admon but using axe. This made me smile.

Allarus beat the shield and spear cap in the final which got him first pick of the relics for the next stage.

Have set up a 900 pts game but played as a 2k so I can go through all detachments.

Am only 1 round into Lions vs Lions, taking my time and learning the rules slowly. It’s cramped and likely far from ideal, but I’ve had a great day and feel like I’m making some progress with learning this thing.

As the title says… you do this too right? What else do you do to keep your bananas sharp?

Also, did everyone else name their dudes n dudettes?

I found a pair of Custodes Combat patrols today and added a pair of Vertus Praetors.. what else should I look for?

Made a proxy for Inquisitor Draxus to make her blend in with the bananas. Went with a gunslinger trickster vibe somewhat inspired by Loki, with the Eagle acting as a psychic hood/Iron halo I'd replace the powerfist with the one Captain Messinius has, as its ornate nature would fit the Custodes vibe, but unfortunately I donth have that mini.

I was looking through the subreddit history and was wondering if anyone has painted their golden bananas an actual yellow color, instead of a variation on gold.

I’m talking non-metallic, yellow as a taxi looking custodians. I doubt it but just wanted to check because I think it would look hilarious and maybe awesome haha

I noticed they removed the combat patrol and codex from the site, along with a few other models I think. What do you think they have planned? Also how quickly would they release something new?

i got a bunch of damaged miniatures, and am wondering what this unit might be. I assumed custodes due to its paintscheme but since I can't find it I'm kinda lost

Just watched the Auspex Tactics new video about something big is coming for Adeptus Custodes. With the current Combat Patrol going away, would you recommend me as a new player to get a 2nd one or wait to see what the new Combat Patrol will be? Im almost done painting my Combat Patrol, I also have a box of sisters that I will need to assemble and paint and as well as the new Battle Support box that I should receive in about 2 weeks.

So in the text for "Unleash the Lions", it explicitly states that the split models are new units with a starting strength of 1. Since it‘s a new unit, could you use "From the Golden Light" again, even if the (now nonexistent) unit already used it? In the ability description it says "this unit", after all, and it‘s technically not that unit anymore

How would you adapt your army to fight Necrons?

What detachment? I exclusively run Lions and love it. Double blade champ and you can’t go wrong.

Thoughts?

I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to start a army right now or not because it seems like a new codex for custodes could be happening pretty soon but I already know what models I want and I do think any will go to legends since they aren’t older models

I am still very beginner and still see some spots to be worked over. But I am.. 95% satisfied.

I’ve been considering Custodes as a new army, I understand the range is going thru a refresh. If I went out and get a few outgoing items, what are the odds they become unusable in the near future?

My Forge World resin Galatus Dreadnought, with a blue power sword and a snowy ruined battlefield base. The model is fully painted and based.

Starting to build up to 2k (currently just have the combat patrol and a grav tank) and I love 40k tanks. Wondering what is more viable currently a raider for my lads or a rhino for the girls?
