Not only do my friends think they're "at least as good" as I am, they've plainly said it to my face even though I graduated art school, have 12 years of professional experience and won a BAFTA award.
It's insane how much people overestimate their creative skills. It's right up there with fighting and driving.
I couldn’t swing it as a graphic designer. It was my first major in college and as much as I loved and respected it, I knew it was time to throw in the towel. My work was never neat or clean enough and they just slowly beat my will to go on out of me. They weren’t even wrong, just harsh.
I ended up liking my new design major more, so it was overall a good switch, but I still have a lot of respect for that field.
