I went to a meeting of people who sing in a cappella groups - like, the directors/leaders and folks who had probably led their college groups. We all went out for karaoke. I mean I like to sing and did some community theater but HFS these people were amazing. (TBF, one is a professional composer with major screen credits). Whenever I think I’m getting good, I remember that night. They say it’s all practice but, let me tell you - if you’re playing a plastic violin, someone with a Stradivarius (who also practices) is going to show you what magic sounds like.
What a lovely final sentence! I have so much respect for the theatre people who come in and belt out notes I thought I’d only hear in my dreams. The technique and training and natural talent is incredible.

As a karaoke host, this is definitely my answer! Usually the quietest are the great ones and the braggarts are trash lol.
