My favorite part of baby prep is putting the nursery together ☺️ changing table was made by my late grandfather who made if for my mom when she was pregnant with my older brother (repainted with her blessing) ⚓️

So, lately I’m seeing all your beautiful, tidy, THEMED baby rooms and I feel bad for my baby…
He’s 4mo and our current setup is a BabyBjorn bouncer on the sofa (safely, it can’t possibly fall down), stroller in the middle of the living room (since he sometimes sleeps in there during daytime), an always messy dresser shoved in a corner of our bedroom and a bedside crib. On top of that our house is always a mess, no matter how much me and my husband try to clean up.
I feel deeply ashamed, too much to even post photos here.
The worst part is that we would’ve had time and space to think and realize a proper baby room and I feel bad for having spent my entire (high risk) pregnancy on the sofa, doing nothing but praying that my baby would be born safely.
I feel like I’m depriving my beloved son of something beautiful, something that could show him my love, something meant for him, since he won’t ever be a baby again…
Am I the only one? Are there people out there in the same “roomless” situation as me? And more importantly, are there people that feel or felt the same as me? Tell me it’s going to be better…

Edited to add - the crib has cushions in it instead of a mattress as she hadn’t arrived yet. We now have a firm mattress for when bebe is ready for her own room!!

This was so much fun to put together! Our little boy is 7 months now, these were taken before he was born. The wallpaper was surprisingly easy to put up. I hope to have it unobstructed one day. Also want to add some cubbies or shelves for additional storage.

My husband painted the ceiling fan blades, I love that detail. The framed painting of his name was commissioned at the zoo.

All these rooms are so lovely, really.

But how do y’all have your change pads on the dresser? If I tried to change a diaper from the side, I’d end up with poop all over me. I’ve gotta have symmetrical access to the baby. So I’ve got a really unaesthetic change table taking up prime real estate.

Are y’all actually changing diapers from the side? Is there a trick to it? Or are you actually changing on the floor or something?

/mostly a joke but for real I’mma need you all to rotate those change pads 90 degrees

Almost 36 weeks first time parents with my husband😆

Do all the different wood tones look bad? My mom says they do. I got all the furniture off the marketplace to save money! I feel like it looks very 90s and i don’t mind it really.

We had to say goodbye to our home so I wanted to share my baby's beautiful nursery as a last goodbye I shed many tears leaving this room behind the walls have glitter mixed in and it was my absolute favorite place to be.

My sweet pup in the photo passed 5 months after we moved she absolutely loved being a big sister and took her job very seriously. I felt the need to include her at her very serious post she never left once her little sister was here I miss her and this room more than anything

My husband and I finally finished our baby’s nursery! I’m 38w4d and we finally feel ready for our baby. We know the gender but we wanted to keep everything gender neutral. It’s our rainbow baby and the gender does not matter to us. I also didn’t want gendered clothing and items because I grew up with an all-pink room and I hated it! We mostly stuck to green and purple because those are the colors my husband and I like best. We also wanted a fun 90s vibe from the things we grew up with. Everything we bought was pretty inexpensive, the most expensive item was the chair. It was $425 but purchased with a gift card. The next most expensive item was the crib which was only $180 from Ikea. The cubes under the desk are from Target and they were about $40 for 8. The tall vertical cubes were actually thrifted from the side of the road!

Baby arrived early, the day after we got our dresser. Lol Now she is 2 months old and I am JUST getting to figure out furniture layout. Excuse the mess. Haha

She will be moving into her room in a few months and I just can't figure out how to get everything to fit nicely.

Issues:

-crib in front of window(she may mess with the blinds when older)

-garbage can is too big/ takes up too much floor space so changing table/ dresser / garbage can't fit on the same wall

-laundry bin takes up too much floor space, but we do generate a lot of laundry so I am afraid of going smaller.

Wants

- a bigger play area for when she's older. Current space feels cramped between the door and nursing chair..

- to put up my floating shelves and more artwork, but just am not doing that until the layout is set.

I am open to changing out all furniture except my amazing recliner. We just got the dresser as mentioned, but I fear its too big and could swap it for a smaller one if we can come up with a better layout.

The first pic was taken a few days before my son was born and the last two are from today (he's 13 months). The room was already painted when we moved in, but I wish I knew the artist to credit!

Eta: when he moved into his room I removed the sheer draping/mobile over his cot

Had the walls painted for my son's birthday recently. Couldn't choose between Miffy and Disney, so both are combined. 💛

I wanted to try out wallpaper for the first time and I love how it turned out (hard to see but it's floral with strawberries on it and sheets are strawberry too). I still want to add a bookshelf and maybe some floating shelves somewhere- but I love my little strawberry's room. 🤍

Showing off our completed nursery! 🎠 I spent so many hours across many months painstakingly researching & selecting every single little detail in this room. I put a big focus into selecting fabrics and materials like organic cotton, solid wood & UL GREENGUARD Gold Certified furniture. Now that baby girl has been alive for a week I am prepared to answer questions/give a proper review about any & all of the things in our nursery, so please ask away.

Obsessed with my daughter’s nursery. It’s the only room in our home that we had the opportunity to design and it was a very fun project.
