So there's finally an update to the long delayed Sesame Street movie that was announced in 2019 that Bo had written the songs for. Not long after that production was delayed due to Anne Hathaway's pregnancy.
Further delays came about because of Covid, the last release date being announced was for 2021. There haven't been any pictures from production, or much info at all really. A look at the imdb listing does seem to show a movie that *was* filmed - there's a set medic, catering etc, not just pre-production stuff. (Edit: as I say below in a comment, I’m not 100% sure it did film, due to lack of camera crew credits. It could well have just got really, really close. There’s no editor, but that doesn’t necessarily mean things weren’t filmed, but again, no camera crew.)
It looks like it's going to Netflix (no surprise, they're the current home of Sesame Street), but according to the article:
The news comes courtesy of Jeff Sneider’s latest newsletter and seemingly ends a painfully long journey to production that has seen the project change studio hands several times since it was first announced in June 2012. Sneider says Netflix are wiping the slate clean of previous development stages and involved talent, including Hathaway and Burnham.
So will this now be lost media? Seems a shame that we're going to miss out on seeing Socko's origin story.
Edit: That pic of Elmo exemplifies my pain.

There’s a casting grid in this week’s Production Weekly for a new “feature film” directed by Bo titled “Outside.” Has there been any info on this project?

At the tail end of WTFIGO we get a look at Bo's editing software. For some reason he has a file? folder? I don't know how editing works, and it's labelled CHRIST. does anyone have ideas as to what might be in there?

Terrible photos, I know.
I promised to report back to this sub once I attended the show.
Overall, a good time. I exhaled out of my nose a few times. They did all of the songs from Inside, plus 1985, Art is Dead, Sad, Panderin', and Are You Happy. The band was solid, though they played all but "That Funny Feeling" as straight comedy, which wasn't my preference. "Welcome to the Internet" was preceded by a haunting violin instrumental from Faith Beesley, Jacob's wife.
For "How the World Works", they did a whole Mister Rogers introduction, which I did think was pretty great. Cardigan and everything.
I'd say this was an 8.5-9/10 cover show. I think the only true mark against it was "Art is Dead" being played straight as comedy, but I think everyone came out of it having had a good time and thoroughly entertained.
Oh, and the true highlight was the full performance of "World on Fire". It was like watching the original production of Schneitzhoeffer's "La Sylphide".

Around a month ago (or maybe more) u/InsectVomit said that these lyrics reminded them of Bo, it really stuck with me so I thought why not make a video out of it :)

see, i really like bo burnham's older material, but i dont really like Inside. I am a hardcore bo burnham fan, i just think Inside is a little overrated. Before you come at me saying, "You aren't analyzing it enough!" or, "You don't get it!" I do, I see the meaning, the representation of depression, mental illness, derealization, anxiety, and being forced upon a stage, but to me what. and make happy were more professional than Inside.
Inside is impressive because he made it himself during covid, and it was above what the average person during covid could make imo, but it didn't live up to what i thought it would. People would describe Inside as a "masterpiece" and, "best movie/comedy special ever" but it didnt live up to that to me. I still appreciate all the hard work bo did to create Inside, but it's not my cup of tea, and i think his old specials were better because he had more assistance.
i still feel sympathy for bo, i hope hes happy and living well, but imo what. and make happy were the best specials bo has done. you can see the improvement bo has made since he started his career, hes definitely more advanced than when he started his career, but Inside is not as good as people make it seem. some fans get too obsessed with bo and his specials as well, and i know SOME (not most) fans are parasocial, so please dont come for me because i personally didnt like Inside. I appreciate all the work bo put into it, but its not my thing.

Learning lighting programming on EOS Etc, and trying to experiment with recreating lighting designs, did one of the What. intro (or the design in the filmed special) you can't see the scrims in the back though.

I just found out my company is merging with another company and for some reason the only thing that eases the dread is listening to ‘Inside’. I used to walk at night during Covid listening to Inside. It healed my lockdown trauma in the years after. Now it’s therapeutic to listen and take comfort again. So glad this sub exists.

I dont know if its just me, but whenever I listen to All Eyes On Me (Outtakes) I can't stop thinking of Left Brain, Right Brain.
First off, obviously there's two of Bo, however I feel the way they speak and act is quite similar to one another. For instance, the Not Green Bo in AEOM (O), seems a lot more emotional, tells us what he doesnt want to do (play, wake up, live) and repeatedly asks "Tell me what you feel right now", almost as if Bo's mental health has deteriorated so much that his Right Brain no longer understands or knows how to feel. (As well in both videos this Bo is constantly moving around). Meanwhile Green Bo and Left Brain are a lot more stationary. As well Green Bo seems more apathetic towards things almost as if he can't feel emotion. The first thing Green Bo says in the film is "I've lost", as if he can only see life as winning (being okay) and losing (not being okay), whilst the other Bo (Right Brain) is able to say he feels sad. As well Green Bo mentions how he'll "Edit: All the time." Something that would be done by the Left Brain. As well with the, "You say the whole world's ending, I thought it already did." To me just seems very passive aggressive and like something someone without emotions would say, i.e. Left Brain.
This is all likely a MASSIVE coincidence, but I just think it's a cool coincidence.

I tried to make a poster of inside 🥹. It's my first time ever creating something like this!

I just got off of Words Words Words and was surprised as to how tame it was compared to what I thought it could be. I mean of course it's got unambiguously misogynistic humor and I don't support that specifically, but god damn does he know how to write a joke. I feel as though it's tongue in cheek enough for me to laugh at and be happy, but what are your thoughts?
