We're now doing verified owner flairs! Post here to get them!
BEFORE SUBMITTING PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE REQUIREMENTS! YOU NEED A PHYSICAL NOTE INCLUDED, NOT JUST A PICTURE OF YOUR CAT.
Hello! To make things a bit easier, when it comes to proving who's the real owner of a said cat, we're introducing verified flairs.
Simply post a picture of your cat with a small physical note that includes your username (like a post-it note), and you will get assigned your own flair with the name of your cat(s).
(Remember that it has to be a physical note, post it, or similarly).
You can post here or send me a modmail and I'll get you verifying you asap!

Randomly attacking me, breaking skin
Hi BSH parents, I really need some advice please. We have a 1yr old male British shorthair and in the past couple of weeks he attacks us multiple times a day. I’ve taken him to the vet and they didn’t see anything wrong with him. He is neutered too.
I’ll be sitting, sleeping in bed, or playing on the ground with him and he goes into hunt mode and something just flips in him where he sees us as a threat or to be hunted. You can see the shift in his eyes. He lunges at our arms, feet, and even my face. At first it startled me so bad I would cry with scratches all over my face.
He used to lick my arms in the night to fall asleep and now if he even tries to lick me just once that switch happens again and he goes from licking to attacking in a matter of seconds. We would snuggle and cuddle and now if I do that he will attack :(
We play with him constantly but it’s never ending, he wants to play forever.
He never bit us once for the year we had him, he was so sweet. I don’t know what’s going on. I’m scared to sleep near him. We always do the high pitch yell and immediately walk away when it happens but nothing is changing. We do have a bird feeder outside and there’s been more birds lately, that’s the only environmental change I know of.
If anyone has experienced this please let me know! It’s making me really sad.

BSH breathing fast most of the time

Is his breathing normal? We just took him two weeks ago, he is healthy, eating very well and playful. But I often see him breathing this fast, I'm not sure if this is normal or shall I take him to the vet?
Boy, two months & 25 days.

just lost my baby to HCM
Im honestly in so much shock that he passed out of nowhere. He was the most adorable and loving kitty in the world. He only got to live till 5 but i will definitely cherish all the memories i had with him. He’s with my dad now who was really close with him and passed about a year ago. I guess he was missing Teddy and had to take him away early.
I’m still in denial because he always seemed so healthy but out of nowhere he just died. I love him so much and I don’t know how I’ll ever move on. He had all types of special little quirks and tricks i’m so SAD 😭😭😭😭

Why Does my BSH OC about Scratching?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Millie scratches the carpet over and over whether she likes her food or not. She scratches for several times before using her litter box. She scratches to cover and jumps in over and over to scratch again.

Miss our sweet Luna
We had to put our sweet Luna down after a short battle with cancer and kidney disease. We had her for 14 years and she'll be forever missed. 😥

Maru is finally home and purring up a storm!
I'm surprised by how quickly she's taken to me. Not an ounce of shyness in her body. Immediately started purring in my arms and hasn't stopped since. Very similar to her older sister who was asleep on top of me the first night. Unfortunately these two aren't quite bonded yet (it's been 3 days haha) but we're taking it one day at a time.

Who else loves spoiling their BSH cat?
I got my BSH kitten over 2 weeks ago and I can't stop buying toys and things for him. I have signed up for an expensive subscription with freshly cooked high meat food and great litter too. He eats better than me and I am spending all my money on him. 😄 My bank balance is taking a massive hit right now. 🙈

I just adopted my baby, does she walk normal with her hindlegs? (Ignore the mess)

Wasn’t sure where else to post since most advice subs don’t allow videos, sorry. She otherwise walks and jumps without issue, she’s very careful when jumping down tho
