I’m sure everyone is seeing their FA email about past due tuition like me.

So I just spent the past two hours on the phone with the financial aid robot who gave me student business services number, and then the SBS robot who gave me financial aids number, and then a kind SBS rep who was in the same boat as us but sent me to titan hub, who I waited on hold for just for him to put my name on a “tracker” to hopefully get it processed sooner. The people who you call can literally do nothing and they don’t know who is in charge or who to ask.

Let me tell you the tea. The director of FA retired over summer his name was Nick Faldivia. I know! convenient right? So there is quite literally no accountability for this egregious robbery of our state funds😂. Them sending me back and forth to each other for two hours was the last straw. I know all the students and faculty understand this, so I’m asking for your help. We need to find the leadership and complain and stop complaining to other poor students in the same sinking ship.

LinkedIn took down the application for director so I know there is someone in charge or about to be. Or who is the interim director?

The state funding needs to get to the students or they will be held accountable to the state eventually for at least fraud or grand theft or misuse of government funding or something. This is not right. Someone’s gotta call Nick Shirley.

We need financial aid leadership to communicate to us an ACTUAL deadline instead of straight up lying. “End of July early August” “mid to late August” “end of August early September”. And at the very least stop sending me threatening emails that you’ll dis enroll me in my last semester if I don’t pay because those are some mean fighting words and I’m ready for war (writing a strongly worded email to whoever is to blame for this)

I’m 22f and it’s my first semester here (transfer from cc) and it feels so dystopian. Nobody talks and it’s always packed, everywhere. I’m pretty antisocial so it’s hard to talk to anyone I don’t already know, and I only know a couple people who already go here but our schedules don’t align well. I have a 5 hour gap between required courses and I feel obligated to leave campus or sit in my car depressingly.

I’ve been emailing and calling the financial aid office and continue to get the same answer “by end of next week”. At this point its been a month and theres still no update. Classes have started, this is my senior year, and still no award package has been given. Books/ hw access are more than $100 each not including parking. I dont know what to do at this point if i can afford tuition and books on my own I probably wouldnt be getting fafsa in the first place.😀
