You might have noticed this sub had been set to restricted due to recent spam issues and because of lack of past moderation. Well we're happy to announce there's an all new mod team here and the sub is set to public again. We will be doing our best to keep this community fun, friendly and make sure it remains a safe space to discuss and celebrate Canadian television.

North of North Season 2 will premiere in Canada September 1st on APTN+ and September 8th on CBC Gem, CBC TV and APTN TV. Everywhere else in the world later this year on Netflix.

In case you haven't already seen, our second season will include some extra special guest stars including Canadian actor and comedian Bruce McCulloch (The Kids in the Hall); acclaimed singer-songwriter, director, documentarian and Inuk activist Elisapie; and Canadian online personalities, creatives and content creators, such as Ashley Callingbull, Braden Kadlun, Chelazon Leroux, Kairyn Potts, Kayuula Nova, Shina Nova and Scott Wabano.

Do any of my fellow Canadians remember a segment on the Family Channel that aired between shows where two young men travelled across Canada with a jar of water from the Atlantic Ocean with the goal of dumping it into the Pacific Ocean to see what would happen?

It culminated with them pouring the water into the Pacific and the gag was that the Pacific spat the water back out.

If anyone remembers any details, please comment.

It's the one with the French chef. I believe it might have been for lunchmeat? I can see him in the chef outfit and hat, sharpening a knife. I hope it's not a fever dream.

Anyone remember a commercial late 80s and 90s for some sort or candy/fruit snack commercial where a kid hands out candies to all his friends and he runs out but then finds one more or is given one. He eats it and he says Chew Bert/Burt too. Anyone remember what this product was called or have a link to it? I always remembered it because it was so stupid. Nobody I talk to remembers. Thank you.

I'm looking for a quick weekly news recap about Canada. Something like a 5–10 minute Flash Weekly Video Wrap that summarizes the biggest stories of the week.

I know about CBC The National, but at ~45 minutes it's a bit long for a quick catch-up.

Does anyone know a good YouTube channel, podcast, or website that does a short weekly Canada news summary?

What are Judges called in Manitoba?

Forgive my trivial query! Im watching a legal drama called Burden of Truth which is set in Manitoba and seems very robust on the courtroom jargon but they are calling the judge YOUR MAJESTY! I cannot find anything online to support or explain this. Anyone shed any light! Ps chatpgt just keeps telling me I misheard. I assure you I haven't. Thanks.

Basically all of the Peanuts specials have aired on CBC around the time they have in the United States from 1965 to 1996, either shortly before or shortly after the fact, but due to Canadian newspaper archives having paywalls, I can’t find any verification on the This Is America, Charlie Brown miniseries airing in the country in English. Three episodes however did air on Télé-Québec in 1994/1995 albeit dubbed in Quebec.

(the series aired in 1988-1989 on CBS in the United States. It aired in 1990 in the UK, 1993 in New Zealand, Germany in 1991.)
