Before summer, this guy showed up around my house and I’m pretty sure someone had abandoned him. He had a flea collar on that was way too tight, and his meow sounded completely messed up. As soon as I noticed the collar, I took it off.

At the time, he was 100% house cat. Constantly rubbing against me, following me around, meowing like, “Please sir, I would like to be adopted immediately.”

Fast-forward a few months and apparently I didn’t rescue a cat. I released Simba back into the Pride Lands.

Now this dude patrols the entire neighborhood like it’s his kingdom, disappears on adventures, and eventually comes back here at night because the neighborhood cat lady puts food out. 😂 He doesn’t even come up to me anymore. Apparently he’s too important for the guy who removed the medieval torture device from his neck.

He also became a dad. Unfortunately, from what I understand, only one of the kittens survived. I haven’t seen the mama cat tonight either, so I’m hoping she’s okay.

And yes, I’m positive this is still my former little rescue turned neighborhood warlord because that messed-up meow is still unmistakable.

From abandoned house cat to rooftop neighborhood security. Man really leveled up and forgot who helped him get started. 😂
