There seems to have been a career resurgence for her over the past couple of years, and the general public is starting to appreciate her talent and music more than they did in the 2000s, when she was one of the leading pop stars. She’s planning to release an album that will be tied to a documentary, which has been described as “very personal.”

I know she won’t reach the same level of commercial success she had in the 2000s, but I think she could potentially have a late-career renaissance if this upcoming project is well executed, marketed, and properly promoted.

With such a long flight there and back, do you think she cancelled because this is a sign she will be receiving the Vanguard Award and thus did not want to be flying all over the place just days before the VMAs?

For me, I’d honestly love a house inspired dance-pop album. Something influenced by artists like Purple Disco Machine, Calvin Harris, SG Lewis, or even Beyoncé’s Renaissance era… but still unmistakably Christina of course. Give us infectious grooves, huge vocal moments, a few emotional love songs, and two or three classic Xtina ballads. I think it would feel fresh without losing who she is.
