I'm interested in applying to the PhD in Genocide Studies. I've looked into the program and I love the look of it. I've read some of the graduated students works as well as looked through what current students are researching and the program seems to be exactly what I want. The pay, the layout, the vibe, etc. Although I've never lived in Worcester I've visited many times - not my favorite place but I don't hate it. I'd likely live in campus housing due to some personal circumstances - I've heard the food sucks (are we talking inedible or meh?) but that's something I'm willing to deal with. Everything seems to be a good fit but I've seen some comments on this sub about how the school is rapidly declining and I want to know how true that is (constant faculty layoffs, poor management, etc).

Hi everyone! I posted here last semester and a few people from this sub were kind enough to come in as patients. The people of Reddit has genuinely helped me a lot with my clinical! 😊

I’m now in my senior year of the Dental Hygiene program at MCPHS Worcester, and I’m hoping to find a few patients for my clinic sessions starting in September.

Because this is a student teaching clinic, appointments are a little different from a regular dental office. Visits are very thorough and include a dental and gum evaluation, oral cancer screening, X-rays when needed, and a dental cleaning. Everything I do is supervised and checked by licensed dental hygienists and dentists on-site.

There is no charge for treatment and insurance isn’t required!

The biggest thing I want to mention upfront is the time commitment. Appointments are about 3.5 hours because faculty check each step of the process, and I’m mainly looking for people who are able to commit to at least 2 visits. Depending on what you need, it could be fewer or more appointments.

My clinic availability this semester are Mondays: 8 AM–5 PM and Wednesdays: 5:30–9 PM.

Hey everyone I'm an incoming freshman and was just wondering what weekends are usually like at Clark.

I know there isn't Greek life, but are there still parties or a decent nightlife? Since most freshmen are under 21 what do people usually do on Friday and Saturday nights? Is it mostly dorm r apartment parties, hanging out with friends, going out in the city (Which I've heard it isn't the safest place), or trips to Boston?

Just trying to get an idea of what the social scene is actually like before I get there. Would love to hear what current students think, thank y'all

ResLife policy is the microfridge units have to be rented at exorbitant prices. The exact same units can be purchased at half the cost of a 1 year rental. Has anybody had any trouble providing their own unit (which is technically against the rules)?

I remember in an info session they said that decisions would be out by July 15 lol. My business school 5th year application still says Active and the last update was that they downloaded my transcript on July 16. I felt like I had nothing to worry about since my gpa is decently higher than the MBA minimum and I have an internship but I’m lowk freaked now since classes start in a month and I don’t even know if I’ll be starting the masters courses yet 😭 Anyone in the same boat?

We’re not looking to go all fancy, but not sure what kind of things are important to have beyond shower shoes! What kind of things would you recommend having been through it?

We are dropping my son (a freshman) off early because he is on a sports team. The website says dorms and dining hall are not necessarily open on the date we are dropping him off and that we might need to make "other" arrangements. They suggested we speak with the Coach but we haven't gotten an answer. Does anyone know if students who arrive early for sports will have access to the dining hall and their dorm rooms? Thank you!

I would like to fulfill the science thinking requirement of the clark core during my freshman year; 1) which classes usually meet this?

Also I have another question. This is mentioned on the website:

"The curriculum begins with a First Year Intensive course, and is completed by satisfying nine requirements across five disciplines."

2) Does this mean that I don't have to take classes that within each of the 9 components of the Clark Core if I take classes 9 classes within 5 of them?

However, I don't qualify for financial aid and am hoping to get enough merit so that it's about the same as my instate school. I'm just seeking a general idea to see if I'll need to bring up my SAT score and if my gpas W/UWc, extra ciriculars, etc matches!

I have to register for classes at Clark University in Worcester. I get that I have to take a freshman intensive, but i can't find an outline of the core course requirements so that I can make sure I'm not taking classes that don't count for anything. Anyone know where you'd find that information. I haven't seen a student handbook or anything like that.

I have been planning to go on my exchange studies to Clark University to study their Music, B.A. program (I would study there for a year). As I have never been to the U.S. before, I wonder if any of you have any opinions on this course and the teachers.

I would study these programs/courses;
MUSC 280 - Private Instruction in Instruments and Voice (Honors Level) – I would study violin.
MUSC 121 - Theory I: Principles of Tonal Analysis
MUSC 101 - Bach and Before: Exploring Music in the Early Modern World
MUSC 002 - Sight Singing and Ear Training

I would highly appreciate it if you could perhaps share your opinions and experiences (if you have any) in regard with this program and the courses I would be attending. Hey I was just looking at some rate my professor reviews and saw there were people who said that people have been robbed on Clark's campus and after doing some research I saw there was another incident that happened 3 years ago where some people were attacked in a gym and was wondering if these are stand alone occurrences or if stuff like this happens frequently but just isn't always reported or televised.

I've also heard some concerning accounts on the cleanliness of the dorms and was wondering if I could get some info on if you think the dorms are clean, or if you've ever had or heard of someone having an infestation of any kind. Also I'm curious if the heating is good during the winter.

Hey I'm (22) considering Transferring to Clark. I have been hearing some good things about it but I'm wondering if anyone could give me a more personal review on Clark. I'm studying Economics and also like taking Music classes for fun and was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Music scene at Clark or if the courses in Economics are good and easy to get into.

I'm also interested in how difficult it is to get internships through Clark from a student's perspective because ofcourse the faculty will say whatever they need to to get more student. I'm curious if it's super competitive or lacking.

Of course I'm curious if financial aid is fair, if it's consistent year to year or if it's hard to get into contact with the financial aid office.

Lastly the people. Are they normal, quirky, locked in academically? Are they open or are they cliquey? Are people reactive or fight often or is it a passive aggressive vibe?

Ofcourse I know everyone has a different experience but this would really help me when I start making my decision.

My son is an incoming freshman. He has a letter from a doctor that says he needs both AC (he can't be sweaty for his sleep disorder equipment to work) and access to a single use bathroom. He had a Zoom with reslife and they told him he could not have both. So he agreed to live in Dana or Hughes with no AC. Is this really something they cannot accommodate? I'm not sure he should have reneged on his doctor's letter. He'll be pretty tired.
