So me personally, DG is my favorite artist of all time, without a doubt. But I've seen some people (especially Country Central on Instagram) saying that his new songs like "Loving You Like That" or "Clothesline" aren't good compared to hos older music.

I'm not trying to see what other people think so I know how to feel, cause I think his new songs are great, though I can notice a clear difference.

What do yall think about his new music compared to his older songs? Also, "My Boy" is a newer one and is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life.

Still feeling emotional after hearing we lost Dolly yesterday. 💔

She was humble, kind and full of joy. A true icon of humanity and a national treasure. Everyone loved Dolly, and Dolly loved everyone.

And she could tell a story like no other.

Not just through her music, but in interviews and appearances on late-night television.

Here, from 2019, she brilliantly recounts a story to Jimmy Fallon about a elderly man in a restaurant who charged his bill to her table and the confrontation that followed.

In typical Dolly fashion, she builds the story so naturally and convincingly that you think you know exactly where it’s going. Then she delivers the punchline completely deadpan.

It’s classic Dolly… warm, mischievous and blessed with impeccable comic timing. And I think she’d want us to
remember her with laughter rather than tears.

Truly one of our better angels. We will always love you, Dolly. ❤️❤️❤️

I could, at great expense and inconvenience, see my favourite artist at a festival 2-3 hours drive away from where I live. I've never been to a music festival before so I'm wondering if it would be worth the effort. Are the acoustics any good in an open area? Will they be playing a full set?

Favourite artist is headlining, I'm not that interested in the rest of the line-up.

Is anyone else keeping an eye on Ashley Walls? I feel like she could be one of the next female artists to have a real break out moment.

I hadn’t really heard much about her until the Morgan Wallen covers last year and fell in love with her music. Now her “Farmer’s Son” is all over my fyp. Definitely feels like she has big momentum.

Her last song “CAN’T BREAK THE BROKEN” is SO good too. I feel like she has the full package. Voice, good songs, identity, great performer, looks. I saw her live in Texas.

Love what I am hearing so far.

I saw her perform and was lucky enough that she autographed my rsd record! She is so beautiful too! I hope a get to see her again soon. Can't wait for her new album.

Arguably one of the greatest country music artists to ever come about, Jean Ritchie’s raw vocals and talent are matched by very few. I recently saw a video on a clogging man Jean demonstrated on how to use. In that video, she hummed a wee tune to get her musician started. Dear sweet is a beautiful. Raw. No autotune. Pure sound. It’s insane. From such humble upbringings to being a massive influence on numerous artists and genre’s themselves, it’s so hard to beat her talent.

I grew up on 90s and 2000s country so we listened to the radio a lot growing up. One song that was played a lot on my local station was The Gary Stewart song ‘She’s Actin’ Single (I’m Drinkin’ Doubles)’

At the time I just thought it was another 90s country song, but this past year as I was getting back into some of those older songs from my childhood and I was shocked that it came out in 1975. It has some more 70s style harmonies, but overall I think it really fits in the 90s style of country music.

Are there any other songs from earlier on that you think could fit into another later time period?

Rediscovered this guy today. Such quintessential 90s sound. Good stuff!

I’m not even annoyed about it due to the sexual connotations of the word.

It just sounds stupid and juvenile to hear grown ass men singing about “My Daddy”.

Just saying “dad” or “father” is fine.
