I am searching for a restaurant that sells Egg Tofu/Japanse tofu. Despite its name is largely not Japanese or tofu; it's a custardy steamed egg dish sold at Chinese restaurants. I have so far found one place in the dmv with it on the menu, Chef Yan in Fairfax, but i would love to find other places maybe closer in if possible. I'm aware this is incredibly niche but any leads would be appreciated!

Taking my friend who has always wanted to go to DC. It will be her 24th birthday and we are both vegetarian (but have been known to eat meat in Mediterranean dishes!) Need somewhere elegant, or at least picturesque as we’re doing a weekend-long photoshoot.

She loves Sweetgreen, but without a dining area and a backdrop, it will not be birthday dinner vibes. Even if some hotels have great vegetarian options and are upscale, would love to hear those too!

$330 for 2 with everything included for chef’s table vs probably $200 that I’d spend on a la carte based on the current menus.

They disappeared earlier this summer and were recently replaced by a (respectfully) less good taco stand with fewer flavor options. Those tacos were truly some of the best in the city and the owners were so sweet! Please tell me they haven't disappeared and have maybe taken their business elsewhere?

I am visiting DC in september and i am trying to figure out a few really specific meal transitions in my itinerary- I have a block for lunch between fords theater and air and space museum- is there anywhere special to grab a quick bite there? I was thinking we'd pickup a sandwhich before fords and picnic it after. Also a romantic spot for drinks around the whitehouse area. I am looking for stuff that isn't crazy expensive since our big splurge meal will be Albi.

It’s funny how reviews seldom mention whether the restaurant has round tables. Yet, for groups of 6 or larger, there is little more conducive for a good conversation than a round table. And nothing more annoying than being seated in the “wrong end” of a long table…

Going to be passing through D.C. for the first time on a road trip and stopping for sightseeing and dinner. I saw recommendations for both El Rinconcito and El Tamarindo in my search for Salvadoran restaurants - which is your go to? Haven't had much Salvadoran food but LOVE pupusas. Open to other recommendations as well - ideally looking for sit-down casual, convenient parking is a plus.

If you haven’t been to Dumplings and Beyond then you are missing out. The dumpling specials are delicious and affordable. The egg drop soup is so real and the hot saki is top shelf.
