I say normal because IMAX is firstly a film format. Digital IMAX is just a commercial term.

First as in originally, yes, but not as in everything shown in an “IMAX” theater is first filmed. Many movies shown in digital IMAX are shot using digital “IMAX certified” cameras.

Digital IMAX is like buying a cheap android phone then slapping an apple sticker on it and calling it an iPhone.
