I've read the older posts, but it seems like many of the older recs have Closed or the spots don't have Shrimp Mofongo (just chicken, pork, steak)... Help please!

Hello! I’ll be visiting the area for a show at Red Rocks in a couple weekends and staying in Morrison. We have some family up in Erie and are looking for a dinner spot in between the two towns that’s relatively casual and could accommodate a larger group without a reservation. Maybe a brewery or food hall? Some of us will be there already and some are flying in that after so arrival times might be staggered.

Friend visiting from the Cayman Islands this week and would like to take her to a cool rooftop bar or two. It's her first time visiting Denver, so I'd like to have mountain views. Thanks everyone!

The Karaage at Sera’s Ramen Enclave is so delicious that whenever I consider going somewhere else for ramen, I end up just going back to Sera’s. Their ramen and garlic fried rice, pictured, is also to die for. So for my fellow Karaage fans, where is your favorite? I tried Osaka’s years ago and while it was good, it was a bit too salty for my taste (and I love salt). I also tried Mizumi and I thought everything there was bland and not good, which is probably why I have a hard time branching out now.

Edit to add: thank you all for sharing your favorite spots for Karaage! I am taking notes and think it will be fun to visit each place and come back with my own reviews and maybe even a ranking after trying them all. Pls keep recommending because I am determined to find the best in Denver and if any of them can beat Sera’s.

Looking for options in the downtown Denver vicinity. I don't mind going a little bit out of the way with the uber, but would prefer to stay and that area. Would preferably like American style barbecue.

This is the best pizza that I’ve had in Denver, and I’ve been here since 1993. The crust is incredible and the flavors were delicious and well thought out. The head chef is the executive chef of Somebody People, but Monarch is not a vegan joint. Monarch is located inside the Urban Cowboy bar space at 16th and Grant. Order pizza at the pizza counter, order drinks separately at the bar.

I am from California and my family is from Michoacán so I grew up eating amazing Michoacán style food. I’ve been here for 5 years now and haven’t found anything that compares. Is there anything Michoacán style here that’s actually good??

Please don’t suggest Tarascos or Adelitas. They are not Michoacán style (imo).

I love the mock chicken that's those kind of spherical pieces that they cut in half, and something like sesame chick'n with those is my favorite thing on Earth. Ever since my fave closed a few years ago (Sunny Gardens) I've been on the lookout for a replacement go-to. I don't love V Revolution - their sauces are REALLY sweet. Any place you can recommend?

Does anyone know a restaurant in the greater Denver area where one could find vegetarian versions of traditional Eastern European (Polish/Ukraine/Russian/etc) dishes such as cabbage rolls/golabki, borscht, goulash, etc?

I stopped by last night for dinner and was surprised it was closed at 6pm when I arrived. Has anybody been yet? I haven't experienced Chef Daniel's food since he was chef at Diced Onions eons ago.

I was craving sushi this weekend and Temaki Den had no spots and figured I would try a new place. Saw two comments on here from a post over a year ago about Nozomi. Cannot believe how many times I've driven by without stopping in. The bluefin toro was FANTASTIC. I had to keep ordering it. Service was on point. The price was great for the quality. I think I just found my favorite sushi place in Denver.

If you’re in the south metro area, check out Prime and Proper off of broadway and county line. It’s a butcher shop and they’re just getting started. I’ve had a few of their sausages, steaks and pork chops, all have been great.

Has anyone ever done Kizaki while pregnant? We booked the table over a month ago but I just found out a few days ago that I’m pregnant. Are they able to accommodate or am I just SOL? I know if we cancel we will only get half back. I’m excited but so sad for the timing!

This might be an odd post. My girlfriend and I have been to Bastien's steak house on Colfax twice, and both times both of us ordered the dry aged ribeye. Both times she received a steak that looked and tasted like a ribeye, and both times I got a steak that looked like a New York strip.

I didn't take pictures, but ribeyes are pretty distinctive because they have two different muscles, including the spinalis muscle along the top, while strip steaks are composed of just one muscle . my girlfriend doesn't know much about steak, but she agreed that they tasted like different steaks.

This exact same thing has happened twice, about two years apart. The first time it happened I brought it up to the waiter, and a guy from the kitchen came out and argued with me about it. he told me it wasn't possible because they don't get dry aged NY strip steaks from their supplier. The second time it happened I didn't bother.

Kind of an awkward situation because I have no way of proving what kind of steak something is. Nor do i want to get into it with kitchen staff while I'm on date night with my girlfriend. It's possible I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. When you have two steaks in front of you, it's not hard to compare them and see that they look and taste different. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am once again looking for late-night recommendations. I really do appreciate everyone that commented the last time I posted on here. One of you guys recommended I try pony up and oh my God, that bar was amazing, and I’m still thinking about that Saigon sandwich.

I’m going for the PHISH Labor Day run, so I’m looking for late-night eats once I get back to the city around 12:30 to 1 a.m.

So far for my trip this time around, I’m finally going to try Post Oak Barbecue, and then I’m going to try Fox and the Hen and One Fold all for the first time.

Hosting multiple dinners for a non-profit company (roughly 30 people), and need restaurants that can support that large of a party. Budget roughly 3K-ish (again non-profit).
