Last night I showed up for a hand to customer order, but the customer wasn’t there, no answer. So I called and asked if I could leave the order, but she said no and that she’d be right home. It was slow, so I figured I’d just wait.
Then her son comes out. Maybe 8ish minutes after I got off the phone with the customer. He tells me his mom’s first name, so I trust that they know each other, says he was asleep, and came out of the same house, so I figured it was safe to give it to him. So I did, and she got really, really mad, like screaming, calling me and saying, like, it could’ve been a stranger or just any random person I gave her food to, and that I was lucky it was actually her son.
I assume she took like 20 minutes to get home based on the time between when I gave it to her son and when she called back. I really don’t know what the right thing to do would’ve been in that situation, but it’s been baffling me ever since (more so baffled on the absurdity, not like if I did the right thing). As far as I know, I didn't get a 1 star from it at least.
