I kid you not, every scene of Nicola's family had had me rolling my eyes or has just straight up been pissing me off. They're so damn annoying and infuriating. I get that the writers need to detail and flesh out characters histories and backgrounds but why make the characters so annoying, childish, and over the top? They just seen straight up fake and cartoonish. And don't get me started on Nicola's mum Rose!

We already have the show ram packed with annoying and fake ass characters enough as it is, we dont need more. And certainly don't want any more. Bring back older characters! Or at least make new characters that seem like genuine real people. I swear down I could write a much better family for Nicola and the sad thing is I actually mean it. Her entire family and insufferable but if I was to tell you my thoughts on all of them, all of this writing would seem like a small sentence in comparison.

Reading this, you might think I dont even like EastEnders but another sad thing is that I actually love it. Or at least I used to. The last time it was actually genuinely "good" was around the early to mid 2010s. After that it just died. Walford doesn't feel like a place anymore, just a backdrop for a panto. The square seems too polished, pristine and perfect and not like a living breathing borough anymore. The characters seem written and not like actual people. The storylines are all baby daddy ones and are all long and drag.

I miss when people used to have cat fights in the street and every house had over the top drama going on like massive drug addictions, planning kidnaps, hiding a murder, planning a robbery, or acting or planning out revenge! Over the top, yes. But much better by today's standards.

Now it's all just paternity lies and glossy pathetic neighbourhood drama. Seems like a play rather than a series now.

Safe to say she's definitely going to be missed once she leaves.

Why would George tell Nicola to “tolerate” her mom? She’s allowed to have boundaries, and her partner, of all people, should support her, not manipulate her.

On another note, the Priya/Max/Ravi love triangle is just stupid. Writers took the easy way out on this one.

nigel’s storyline was one of those that will stick with me for a long time. i sobbed. but since he died and julie left… what has happened to eastenders? i’m so over it and part of me is left wondering why i keep watching it.

There’s tooo many drop hints that makes us, or is supposed to make us think that it’s all going to go one way. For example - Max’s baby, Ravi saying today that he’d have to “kill” the person Priya was with if he knew him. It can’t be that obvious. And if it does turn out to be that way, the writers need changing ASAP!

Possibly been the hottest summer on record and everyone is stomping about in hoodies, knitwear, tights and boots. The only people who have seemed to acknowledge it’s summer is Amy and Alfie with his illegal slip & slide. I haven’t worn long trousers or sleeves since APRIL!

Ive seen articles about Oscar leaving, and iirc, those articles said that the door is being left open and he could return at some point. as we also know, Oscar is one of the people who the gun is pointed at in the flash forward. Could they just be telling us that Oscar isn't going to die in order to not spoil it for us? If we knew that Oscar was going to die, we'd assume it'd be on NYD.

So, whenever a new family or set of characters rock up on the Square there's almost always an instant backlash based on first impressions.

I've watched Eastenders since the early 90's and I remember the debut of The Jackson's in 1993 very well. For the first couple of months they were heavily criticised especially Bianca and Carol's constant arguing. I remember a letter in The Voice (the black british weekly paper) complaining about Alan Jackson "always taking money from his white girlfriend" even though he was clearly portrayed as a hard grafter! Anyway, within two years they'd become part of the fabric along with Sonia's trumpet, Wellard and Bianca's "Rickaaay!" catchphrase.

Fast forward to 2000 and despite rose-tinted memories from many the Slater's were initially given a rough time by press and public alike until the big storylines came in and everyone started taking back their negative views.It's hard to imagine now that once upon a time TV columnists were not very nice about Kat or Jessie Wallace's acting. A few power slaps (her initial trademark) and that iconic line later, they aye their negative words.

A similar thing with the Taylors, Knights and now the Hawkins family. I'm seeing some downright cruel things being said about them😔

All I am saying is that we give them a chance to settle in. Maybe they should've stretched/staggered their intros a bit but what's done is done. The lady that plays Gemma needs to convince me a bit more (never seen her play a cockney) and did they really have to make it that Ned and Alfie had history? Mum Rose is the best character out of them so far and I can already feel dramas brewing following last night's face-off with Elaine in Peacock Palace 😄

With all the flak EP Wadey is getting based on recent events I'm going to remain positive and hope that the Hawkins mob works in the long term...but I'm giving them a chance, even if I'm on my own🚶🏾🚶🏾

After seeing how big Priya’s baby bump looked in tonight’s episode, the notion that she’s been able to hide her pregnancy from both Max and Ravi and anyone is ridiculous! Does she take that giant brown leather shoulder bag to bed as well to cover it? She’s been so obviously blocking her belly with it, it’s just silly. It’s also as if they’re trying to speed up the pregnancy—in that blue and white striped shirt, she looked as if she’s suddenly four or five months along.

Why is Alfie so disliked now? I get the issues surrounding Shane Ritchie and the fact that he was a scumbag for a few months in 2018 but Alfie is a good background character for less dramatic storylines. He has landlord energy but shouldn't be at the front and centre of our screens 24/7.

I just had a thought. Now that most of us think the woman in the bed is Priya. This is what I think might happen. When the police come looking for Max and they knock on the bathroom door. What if Priya has had a premature birth and she’s in the bath/shower when this happens ( you can hear water running) she’s holding the baby when they open the door (potentially stillborn [or just looks like a crimescene because of the blood that happens] because the cop looks a bit distraught, and you can hear someone breathing heavily which makes sense if you just gave birth). Priya is distraught with this, and that makes Sophie able to leave for maternity. What do you think?

Cindy can be nasty, but looking back to this storyline, what do you make of how she took out her anger on Bobby over Lucy? There were a couple of horrible outbursts and she convinced him to leave Walford using the Anna/Freddie situation to her advantage. Thinking a lot about this, was her reaction to Bobby actually quite human? Yeah he had a redemption arc and was truly sorry about Lucy, but didn't Cindy naturally react the same as any parent would to the killer of their child? Not everyone can forgive so easily. Same as how hostile she was to Jane. It was unpleasant, but Jane was the woman who carried Lucy's body to the Common to protect Bobby.

She can be a cow at the worst of times and she painted herself as a victim after her affair with Junior was exposed. But this is one where I kind of understand the human emotion of it all.

That said, if she's not secretly plotting revenge against Max over Steven's death, she'd look like a bit hypocritical if she has genuinely forgiven him and goes ahead with the marriage.

I really liked Alfie back in the day, however increasingly his character looks past its sell by date...

It could make you wonder why she married him then. Wendy Richard who played Pauline Fowler basically didn’t agree with her character getting married again.

It's like when you were a kid and you would go to your mates house and his mum and dad would be having a massive fucking argument in the kitchen while you were playing Smash Bros on the Gamecube in the living room, and then you'd look at your friend and he wouldn't even flinch because it's just so normal to him, and you'd be genuinely scared.

Kat is just horrible to everyone for no reason. She's always been confrontational, sure, but she simply exists to be a ball of hate now. Order a pint politely at the bar? Get met with a scowl and an eye roll. Say good morning as you pass by in the street? Get called a fat twat. Donate to a good cause? Better hope Kat doesn't find out because she'll drop kick your nan.

While she is behaving this way Alfie just stands around like a bumbling idiot. I get he's a West Ham fan, but do we really need a piece of memorabilia in every room in the house? He has no goals or objectives. He has no wants or desires. He just hangs around with a woman who behaves like she hates his existence.

I don't know if the writers think this is funny? Like it's classic 'Alfie and Kat' where he is the jester and she is the pessimist and only he can soften her up? It doesn't work anymore. It just comes across as a dying relationship and it's genuinely depressing to watch.

Never has there been a more spiteful, unpleasant character running the Queen Victoria. Which is saying something considering Archibald Mitchell was temporary in charge of the nation’s beloved pub at one point. The way she snarls at her customers (“too right you will. You having a DRINK OR WHAT?!!!!” to poor Nicola’s sister the other night) is simply unacceptable.

And it can be reasoned that Gemma gave offence by knocking the sign down, that’s why our Kathleen is as pissed as a hornet’s nest. But you need only look not long ago to see not just one but two different occasions where she had the same attitude towards Cindy. The first she chucked her out after DARING to emphasise with Ian’s situation, seemingly to defend Kathy even if Cindy wasn’t saying anything bad. The second time was last week when she let out her witches’ cackle after Cindy rightfully expressed concern Kat had been recording her private conversation.

There are many and more of these examples of Kat being abysmal to her customers. Not even her family are safe! Jean got blamed for that ridiculous Benidorm water slide last week when it was Alfie’s fault. Quite frankly I wouldn’t give my custom to her. I know she’s married to the abysmal Alfie Moon but that’s no excuse; she warrants a sheer ripping criticism on Trip Advisor if you ask me.

So my question is really, why exactly is she behaving like this. Is there a reasonable explanation other than her just being a moody cow?

Because Peter is a Beale. Usually it’s not Peter that Phil had a problem with it’s Ian. Phil even tried to break them up. This is an example of Phil interfering in things that’s really not his business and usually he’s the type to mind his own business more than certain characters.
