Alright, look. We've all watched Fairly OddParents and just accepted that Vicky's evil because... she's evil?

That doesn't sit right. Nobody's born wanting to torture a 10-year-old. Something happened to her.

Here's what I think actually went down:
Vicky had fairies once. No joke. Think about it. The show establishes that fairies assign themselves to kids who've been screwed over by life, neglected, unloved, miserable. Timmy got them because his parents are negligent disasters and he's bullied at school.

But look at Vicky's home life for a second. Her parents are terrified of her. Her little sister Tootie is obsessed with Timmy to a creepy degree. The whole family dynamic is *weird*.

What if little Vicky was just as miserable? What if she had her own Cosmo and Wanda years ago?

But here's the thing, she lost them. Maybe she made a selfish wish that backfired spectacularly. Maybe she grew up just enough that the magic started fading. Whatever happened, it wrecked her. And I don't think the memory wipe worked properly. You know how in the show they mention that when you lose your fairies, your memory gets erased?

What if Vicky's mind was too stubborn, too angry to forget completely?

She doesn't *remember* remember. But she knows. Deep in her gut, she recognizes that Timmy has something she lost. That's why she's obsessed with him specifically. That's why she takes babysitting jobs in Dimmsdale when she could probably make better money elsewhere. She sees the signs. The pink and green. The way impossible stuff keeps happening around him. She can't process it consciously, her brain won't let her, but she knows he's got power. Magic. And she's *jealous* in this bone-deep, soul-sick way. So she tortures him. Yeah, she's cruel, but there's method to it. She's trying to push him to the edge. She wants him to snap and wish her into a cornfield or a black hole or nonexistence. Because she knows, she knows, that if he wishes for something truly violent, something that violates Da Rules, he'll lose everything. Just like she did. She wants company in her misery. She wants him to be just as empty as she is.

But there's this other messed up layer too. I think she's also... protecting him? In her own twisted way?

Vicky charges insane amounts for babysitting. We've all seen that. But where's the money going? She's not buying nice stuff. She's not going on trips. I think she's saving it. I think she knows, again, that buried instinct, that someday Timmy's fairies will leave him. They always leave. And when that happens, when he's suddenly just some ordinary kid with ordinary problems and a head full of impossible memories that everyone tells him were just childhood imagination... she'll be there. She'll be the only one who believes him. The only one who knows he's not crazy. She's brutalizing him now so he'll be ready for when the magic ends. She's the villain because someone has to teach him that the universe doesn't care about his feelings. That wishes have consequences. That power is temporary.

And the wildest part?

It's working. Timmy never wishes her dead. He never wishes her truly gone. He gets close sometimes, but he pulls back. He's learning restraint because she's forcing him to. She's making him stronger by being his personal nightmare. That's why she smirks when he looks miserable. Not because she enjoys his pain, but because she sees him surviving it. She sees him keeping his fairies another day. She sees him not becoming her. Deep down, in whatever's left of her that can still feel something, she's proud of him. And she hates him for it. And she'll never stop trying to break him, because she loves that he won't break. That's the tragedy. She lost her magic and became a monster. He's keeping his magic because she won't let him become soft. She's the villain he needs, not the one he wants, and she'll never get credit for it. She'll just keep being evil, keep collecting that babysitting money, keep waiting for the day he finally understands why she did it all.

And when that day comes?

When Timmy's an adult and his fairies are gone and he realizes Vicky was the only person who ever really knew what he was going through?

She'll probably just laugh in his face and charge him fifty bucks for the conversation. Because that's who she is now. That's what losing your magic does to you.

I feel like the positive I liked about Chloe was adding was like adding a secondary (female) protagonist that just foiled to Timmy. Like she represented the intellectual / the "smart girl", perfectionist to Timmy's humor , imperfections, lack of impulse.

Dislike - well they added her in just late in series, I wonder how the series would have been if they added her like a few yrs back at least give not just add her in the last season, just like its been done to fill a quota.

Many people feel bad for Francis for the stuff Timmy did to him on "Mr Right", but i watched that episode multiple times as a child, and watched clips of it on YouTube when i got older, and didn't feel bad for him at all

I made a comment about the lovebombing and all that stuff he done in s5 but that was just a ploy to make Timmy lose Cosmo and Wanda and make his life hell. Like i think 2002 or 2005 i forgot exactly it was, I know he had his revenge or whatever at Timmy.

Like, I often see people critizing Timmy and talking about times where he was a jerk or a bad friend, but honestly I only can recall A Wish Too Far, Power Palls, and JimmyTimmy The Jerkinators as times where he really was bad to them (and this last one is even debatable).

But I can recall WAY more times where Chester and A.J were jerks to Timmy. No people, seriously:

In ''Power Mad'' they made fun of him and laugh behind his back.

In ''Hex Games'', they openly say they wouldn't be his friends or like him anymore if he lost the skateboarding championship (way to show support, guys!)

In ''Boy Toys'', they found a apparent Timmy doll and their first thought is destroying it (of course, they didn't know that was the real Timmy, but still destroying a likeness to their friend can't be a nice thing to do at all). Not to mention they make fun and laugh at him over Tootie in the ending.

In ''Inspection Detection'', they threw him under the bus when they apparently were caught by the police.

In ''Fools Day Rules'', they did a really mean prank on him with a pieface and a angry groundhog (frankly, I didn't feel sorry for them at all when Timmy did return at them later on the episode).

In ''Scary Godparents'' they did ABANDON HIM WITH MAD DOGS with ANY concern for his well-being! Even Cosmo and Wanda!! (WTF)

Not to mention moments like ''Rules Out'' when they both laugh at him being humilliated. Or ''Smarty Pants'', where A.J acts like a smug ass and rubs his sucess on Timmy's face. Or ''Foul Balled'' where Timmy wishes Chester to be a golden baseball player and Chester then became a ball hog and a pretentious jerk and treats Timmy as his personal doomart (and people say Chester is such a little saint...)

All in all... why nobody points on how A.J and Chester can be jerks as well? Why people critizes and shit on Timmy and ONLY Timmy when he is being a bad friend? Why everyone's focus is on ONLY TIMMY? Double Standard?

(ESPECIALLY because, when Timmy is being a bad friend to them, he's always critized and punished by the script and need to make amends in the end, but when Chester and A.J are bad friends to him, it's always played for laughs and they never are called out on it).

Season 8 of The Fairly OddParents premiered in the U.S. on February 12 2011, but first premiered in Mexico and Latin America 16 years ago today (August 26 2010).

It's my tied with season 9 as my favorite season of the show, and is the only season with no bad, mediocre, or even okay episodes (Meet the OddParents is good, Love Triangle is great, and Timmy's Secret Wish, Invasion of the Dads and When Losers Attack are some of my favorite episodes).

Timmy suffered from so many things and I always felt bad for him.

Something I didn't understand was why he never used fairies to solve his problems and instead mostly made stupid wishes?

I remember loving the Drake Bell special, the one where Timmy ended up becoming a fairy. I wrote a whole fanfic about Timmy bw=eing a fairy but it never came to fruition.

On paper it looks cool to have this rival / anatagonist but he was really regulated to maybe the D tier of villians a bit. If the writing kept him more recurring he could have been bumped up a few spots

For example, they chose to make a complex set of rules, but treated depression as a joke at times and never took Vickiy or Crocker, or the relationship between Vicki and Totti, seriously. It sucks, because all of these had good potential.

It's a shame they didn't expand on her backstory. She always behaved in an annoying way, constantly wanting to kill Timmy for no reason, it was stupid.
