I have (had?) a fire TV. I switched where it was plugged in, and all of a sudden my TV looks like this when trying to play anything. It's so weird because the apps are fine, but playing anything is out of the question. I tried looking it up, but everything kept going to a Fire Stick, so I'm making this post just to make sure it's literally a goner. Got it in 2022; it's the 4-series.

I got a used Insignia Fire TV without the remote, and it’s been factory reset. Now I’m stuck on the select language screen and I can’t move past it.

I connected the TV to my Wi-Fi using an Ethernet cable so I could use the Fire TV app as a remote, but the app doesn’t detect the TV. I can see the TV listed as a device on my Wi-Fi network, though. So I’m not sure why it is not detected

Is there anything I can do to get past this screen and actually use the TV?

I’m wondering if anyone is having the same issue or has found a fix. When downloading apps from downloader they install and work as normal, but I can’t get them to appear in the apps and channels page. I can go into settings > applications and launch them from there though.

Has anybody found a fix for this?

Does anyone know if I can use the cube to connect to more than one device? I have some remote control curtains that use IR and wondering if I can also connect those with my tv? Thanks (:

Is it cooked? It’s been like this for hours, already tried different outlets, using the control to try to force a reset, reset my router, different tv, different HDMI port…

It was working yesterday, it suddenly stopped opening apps, it had a pending update so I did that and it still wasn’t working, then I hit reset from the menus and it hasn’t turned on since.

Just the past few days the YouTube app will only play part of a video before it locks up completely, eventually going to a black screen. I can't backup, pause, play, or do anything except hit the home button to get out of it. I have tried Force stop, clear cache, clear data, then I even uninstalled and reinstalled it. I still have the same issue! Did they come out with a new version that is not working properly?

I am to the point where I'm trying to load an older version but I'm not sure where to go at this point. I was told to get into developer mode and then install the downloader, but now what? How do I find a previous version of YouTube?

Is this my solution or is there something else that is wrong?

I have a couple of FireTV USB 2.0 hub/100Mbps adapters but I want something with gigabit LAN. I know the USB on the Max is only USB 2.0 but only USB 3.0 adapters have gigabit LAN ports which are capable of 300-380Mbps when connected to a USB 2.0 port. None of these USB 3.0 adapters can power the Firestick through the USB though so they need a USB-OTG adapter too.

The problem is that not all chipsets work with FireTV devices and most adapters don't tell you the chipset. Can anyone suggest a powered USB hub/Gigabit LAN adapter confirmed to work with FireTV and specfically the 2nd gen 4K Max?

Hi, I moved into an apartment with an Amazon fire tv, but none of the apps will load. I've tried restarting it and unplugged it a million times. The Wi-Fi says its strong but I've been unable to run a speed test. Like I try to run one and it tells me I can't at the moment and to try again later. It was working perfectly up until yesterday at like 5pm. Does anyone have any advice? I've tried changing the Wi-Fi to see if that's the problem and it doesn't seem to be.

For about two weeks, my Fire TV has been having Internet problems. It would play a movie on any streaming service for about five minutes before it said it could not connect to the Internet. I have reset the Internet, unplug the Wi-Fi, turn the TV on and off. Pretty much everything I can, and it’s still continued to do. I factory reset the TV and it seemed to work for about three days, but now it has gone back to how it was saying there is no Internet and won’t let me play a movie for more than a couple of minutes. Does anyone have any solutions? All my other devices are working pretty much fine on my current Wi-Fi.

I am without internet temporarily and I have been using a TV antenna with my Fire TV. Today an issue started popping up where no matter what channel I change it to (my local nbc, local Fox station, ion), the same channel appears on the station. I have reset my TV, I have rescanned for channels countless times and the issue simply will not go away

Hey Everyone. As the title states, im having issues with YouTube the last couple of days. YouTube only shows me the 1080p option for videos, even though the video is 4K. Everything worked fine before. I even tested it by opening YouTube natively on the TV OS. 4K worked without any issues. So this has to be a FireTV problem.

Has anyone else these issues?

Fire stick - 4k (second generation)

When starting the tv and using the fire stick, the TV says the input is showing 1080p 60hz, so to get it to change to 4k I have to go to the tv settings and change the EDID Settings to 1.4, then back to 2.0 then the signal reads 4k@60hz. At times the screen goes black momentarily then switches to 1080 when it comes back.

Every time the tv starts up this back and forth has to happen for me to use 4k.

I've tried a handful of steps but haven't found a solution. Please help if you've seen something similar or know of some tricks. I have tested this on 2 of the 3 HDMI ports (the other is using earc for my sound bar).

I didn't know how to word the title, but basically I've been having this problem on YouTube, where when I open the app on my TV, it plays ads and then a video I previously watched the other day.

The day I was watching it, I kept getting distracted and having to pause-and-unpause, and a few times the TV turned off because I left my room for so long, and now I'm worried I've like broken my YouTube? Does anyone know why this is happening, and what I can do to fix it cause it's really annoying

This popup just showed up on the Prime Video app, asking me to take a survey on my FireTV.

The popup cannot be interacted with using a remote control and it doesn't go away anymore.

What am I supposed to do now?

Hi, I bought a 4K select in April, everything has worked fine up until this past week, I'd search for a specific tv or film and say for example 'available on netflix' I click on it and it'll loads BBC iplayer, I've just clicked on a film that was free on Plex and it loaded Channel 4, I'm subscribed to netflix and prime etc so idk why it's doing that

I find this very annoying that it only shows time on a screensaver or 3rd party app. The 3rd party app you actually have to open to get the time. A lot of times my phone isn't right beside me so this would make things so much easier.

I have two firetv pro remotes. Both will no longer let me control sound bar. One straight up says it can't control equipment anymore. The other just won't program. Just does TV volume. I also have a regular remote that operates the tv volume and sound bar at the same time. It's there a process to factory default at the remote itself? Any one have similar issues. Also I have reprogram my fire tv remotes constantly on my audio receiver. On my living room TV. Doesn't do that on my master bed sound bar.

So i have a old Sony that uses optical sound connection and a Polk audio Atmos bar, can I go from the cube to the bar to recive Dolby and split off to the video in on the TV?

I just bought a TV from Argos and when I tried to mirror it the TV already had a name and then when I went to Amazon it was logged into their account with their payment details. Could this somehow be a scam?

I've been building a universal-style remote app that generates a custom remote layout per TV brand, and it just went live on the App Store. Problem is, I don't actually own a Fire TV myself, so I can't verify the Fire TV-specific implementation actually works end to end: button mapping, pairing, latency, all of it.

If anyone here has a Fire TV and a few minutes to spare, I'd really appreciate someone trying it and telling me what breaks. Happy to send it over free, no strings, and I'm not trying to pitch anything here, just want an honest "does this actually work" from someone who has the hardware.

Temp root is now available for 2nd gen (PS7713) and 3rd gen (PS7715) Cubes. It runs entirely in memory with one command, and is completely safe. Use it to disable updates, set a custom launcher, remap remote app buttons, disable Amazon's block list, and debloat to your heart's content.

Amazon will be patching this soon enough, so at least use it to block updates to keep this as an option on your device.

I recently upgraded my monitor and decided to use my 3 year old 1080p monitor as a tv in the guest room using a Firestick that was on sale for 30% off.

Yes, I'm fully aware I'm not going to get 4k on a 25-inch 1080p monitor. But it will only display 480i and the screen resolution is stuck on Auto, so I can't manually change it. I tried that Rewind+Up remote hack, but that doesn't do anything.

The Firestick did an update shortly after I plugged it in for the first time and the loading screen that popped up was clear and 1080p, but when the home screen popped up, it was back to 480i and still can't be changed via settings or the remote hack.

Should I just give up and return it? Is there some kind of workaround I can't find on the internet?

I have a Westinghouse WR43UX4019 Roku TV. I hate the Roku side of it so I got a fire stick for it awhile back. Now I ended up having to reprogram the fire stick remote and cannot not find the right IR code, I've tried over 100 now and nothing works. I also can't find the original remote right now

Before the update, the first option in the content listings on my FTV Home Screen was a horizontal list of the apps I subscribe to and use most (arranged by me) followed underneath by content recommendations from Amazon. Post update, I get a list of apps recommended by Amazon (most of which I don’t have) and not my personally chosen list. (See photo below.) Is there a way to return to the old system? 🤔
