Bad news: Rockstar has changed the classic tapping X to sprint and now it’ll be just holding L3 instead

I just didn't like pressing L3 so it was kinda preferable.

of course it is. clicking L3 once is about as inconvenient as spamming X for at least 40 minutes

You get way more control over what speed you're going at. And how will you jog in GTA 6 if L3 is a toggle sprint?

I'd assume they'll tie your movementspeed to how far you push the stick, like every other 3rd person game ever

I feel the lack of that is what made R* games unique. I find it annoying to walk around in the world when you always have to carefully tilt the stick forward but not so much that you begin to jog. I really hope they add a "classic" controls option for people like me

EDIT: I also just find it x10 more immersive having to spam X really fast when you're running away from the cops or whatever

Yeah I agree. The sprint/jog mechanic on X gave you a nice natural gradation for the characters gait, but also at the same time I understand that it prevents the player from controlling camera direction easily while running so I understand why they would make that change

Spamming X is preferable to HOLDING L3 to sprint. If you have to just click it to toggle sprinting, that's a whole different story. But that's not what this post is saying. You have to Hold L3, and that's significantly more inconvenient.
