Bad news: Rockstar has changed the classic tapping X to sprint and now it’ll be just holding L3 instead

Rockstar conspired that with Sony just to increase the number of Dualsenses sold after everyone else started to get drift in their controllers

Tapping L3 once would put less wear on the controller than constantly spamming the X button

Yet all of my controllers so far had stick drift problems, not X button.

L sticks break WAY more often than X button.

Everyone has stick drift but almost no one has a broken X

The dual sense has issues with stock drift appearing on controller for the thumb sticks, the x button is a simple pad or membrane swap, the joysticks to replace the potentiometers are a pain in the ass to desolder.

Just recently sent my less then a year old controller to Sony for a replacement because of stick drift. I have 2 other controllers ready for TMR’s fully desoldered.

Binary on/off buttons can handle a LOT more wear than analog joysticks, though.

Damage to a joystick can cause pervasively annoying drift whereas damage to the X button usually just means it slowly feels softer over time and might eventually fail — but I’ve literally never had one of those buttons completely fail from wear on a PlayStation controller.

Buttons are also way easier to replace if you’re into that.

I just bought a pair of tmr modules because both my dualsenses are drifting, that never happened to my ps4 controller for some reason, so i'll bring them to my friend and he will install the new ones!
