Bad news: Rockstar has changed the classic tapping X to sprint and now it’ll be just holding L3 instead

I liked that the default speed was walking and you held X or A to run and tapped to sprint. It gave Rockstar's games character.

Just have one tap for jog, double tap to sprint. Or make better use of the analogue stick to control walk vs jog and activate sprint...which is probably what they have done.

I mean, it’s probably just controlled by the joystick now? So joystick walk jog, and thumb stick sprint. And on pc there will also be a walk button like there usually is in games that do that.

I thought rdr2 controlled like hot ass regardless so I’m not really worried about out that lol

In your opinion.. in a lot of other opinions it was annoying as hell to continuesly hammer fist the x button just to run

“Annoying as hell” but apparently no one bothered to change their settings for it lol

this.... you could change it if it bothered you that much. It worked in the context of the game

Walking? You mean jogging, right?

For GTA 5 and RDR 2 the default movement without tapping/holding X is walking.

I never understood why more games didn't take advantage of, you know, analog joysticks.

Degrees of speed dependant on how far forward you push the stick.

Tell me you are not a gamer without actually telling me.... you know almost all of the games on the market do just that right?

Even Rockstar games did that as far as I am aware, GTA IV tried something different and it worked, at least for me. It made you feel like you actually run with the character by tapping a button

Not for sprint, most games just have sprint as a 1-speed toggle...

I meant for sprint...

I guarentee you I've played more games then you. (I just finished all the GTAs, and now I'm going through all of MGS. I was top 1% in fortnite for the first few seasons, Global Elite in CSGO, ex GC in Rocket League, and Onyx in Halo. That's not even all, I've been the highest rank in so many games that I can't remember the names of them and I just go off of color or symbols.)

I said that I wished more games would utilize the analog sticks more for player movement. There are still a lot of games with weird control schemes when it comes to sprinting.

CoD for example with the tac sprint. They use button presses instead of the analog sticks to change sprint speed. (It's been a while since I played a cod with tac sprint, maybe they did have that option, but it wasn't default).

If you played more games you would find that a lot of very popular ones don't utilize analog joysticks much when it comes to a variance in movement speed.

Tell me you are not a reader without actually telling me...

That's very obviously not what they are talking about. We are talking about sprint activation methods.

You're on reddit. on a non-primary subreddit for a singular game that isn't even released yet. They fucking know that
