Announcement Stop shitting on each other. Really, stop acting like assholes.

I know everyone gets bored, one of your favorite scammer subreddits got shut down so you can't poke at them there, but this is a subreddit for people to post their GoFundMe whether you like it or not.

Calling people names, insulting them, and harassing them is getting way out of control.

If you see a scam, great! Call them out. Provide proof. Screenshots all of that. And then message moderator mail.

The absolute disgusting things I have had to remove lately go beyond horrific.

Instead of insulting someone, offer some solutions. Helping someone find a new career is going to help them a thousand times better than just saying get a job.

Some of you that comment here are absolutely wonderful and helpful, and some are going to be finding the door in a hurry with my foot in your ass.

Your cruelty is not welcome.

Medical Please help my dad and step-mom save their home while my dad battles stage 4 small cell lung cancer.

Hello!

My name is Ashley. Earlier this year, my dad was diagnosed with metastatic small cell lung cancer, stage 4. By the time they found it, it had already spread to his liver and considered incurable. Dad's treatment is especially complicated by him having a kidney transplant for end stage renal failure in 2015, which means a number of more modern immunotherapy and even radiation are not suitible or safe for him, except as a last resort.

Dad is on his last-ditch treatment (tarlatamab) before he is out of options. His kidney began rejecting, but they have been able to save it so far. He will continue treatment and we are guardedly hopeful, but unsure how effective it has been at this point.

Now, a little about the guy behind the diagnosis. My dad has been a day-1- dad for us. When he and my mom split, dad became a single dad and maintained custody of his kids into adulthood. He has never stopped supporting us in all ways and now he is a beloved "grampie" to my daughters and my brother's kids. He is at least near-genius and can fix or build anything. He is my hero and my heart breaks daily at the thought of a life without my daddy. He is a precious person - a true angel.

I would love to be able to help him and my step-mom keep their home through this. Please consider visiting and sharing the link to his GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/547657d5c

Thank you so much in advance for your consideration and for your support!

Memorial Seeking help for my family as we grieve

This may be the most difficult post I'll ever make. I'm not one to ask for assistance, especially on social or online communities... but in this case, we're have a very rough time.

My father Raymond Hall suddenly passed away on August 16. One moment he was in his kitchen making chicken tacos, and the next he simply dropped. It was an extremely devastating loss for me and my mother, more so for her as they had been inseparable for 48 years.

Dad was a US Navy vet, stationed across the globe and served among various craft in his 22-year career. One of my earliest memories was his assignment on the Enterprise. While deployed during WESTPAC, he once received permission for me to board at Alameda and I marveled at the sheer size of the carrier. He truly loved being a sailor, almost as much as being a husband and father.

As for the present, we've been struggling to keep up with financial obligations. While I've been able to help out with their balances this month, funerary costs have been greater than expected. Coupled with the fact that mom has to wait between three weeks and three MONTHS to receive roughly a third of his VA and SSA pension, she'll be struggling. Now that it's just the two of us, to say it'll be a challenge until around Thanksgiving is an understatement.

Additionally, he did not have full life insurance, only AD&D which of course doesn't apply to his passing.

Ultimately, whatever is donated would cover my father's funeral costs. Any remainder would be for essentials such as utilities and heating oil for the coming Fall, which will likely become deferred payments as we try to get by.

If anyone has earnest suggestions or information about programs or online groups that could help surviving military spouses, I'm all ears. Thanks for reading, I appreciate your time.

Animal Help newly adopted Hades get eye surgery after suddenly going blind

Hello! Just over a month ago I adopted Hades from Texas. Unfortunately upon arrival he had Hyphema in one eye and we went to the ER the same night. He was on eye drops a few weeks then we ended back at the Er with discharge and was prescribed new drops. We saw the eye doctor a few days later and he was diagnosed with permanent blindness in both eyes. I was hoping to have him last a few years however he has hyphema in both eyes and it is causing him pain. Hes had a rough start in his short three years moving from home to home until brought him to his forever home. Its heartbreaking that he went through the stress of transport, a new home, new pet friends, all to suddenly lose his sight on top of everything.

I first came to reddit asking for advice on ways to help him in his new world and its been very helpful so far. One suggestion was a gofund me for his surgery so ive finally set one up. I want to make sure he can live a long happy life with me even given his circumstances. I hope to get him pain free as soon as possible so can live his best life.

The rescue he was adoptioed from has also been made aware along with his previous foster mom. Who im in contact with and share updates all the time.

Estimate cost for surgery is 4500 with the hospital or about 2800 at the vets office directly.

Please note: legal name is noted on the documents my gofund me is my preferred name.

Thank you in advance!

Housing Help us cover some last minute expenses on our move from Minnesota to Washington…

My name is Joshua my partner Samatha and I are preparing to move from Minnesota to Everett, Washington, and we’re now in the final stretch. We now have our apartment secured and have been covering as much of the move ourselves as we can, but the transportation and security deposit costs ended up being significantly higher than we originally budgeted for especially the U-Haul and trailer.
We started this GoFundMe to help close that gap and make sure we can actually complete the move without arriving completely wiped out financially. It has been difficult, stressful and exhausting.
The remaining outstanding expenses include a U-Haul/trailer, fuel for the trip and hotels along the way since we are traveling with pets.
We’ve already self contributed and received an incredible amount of help from friends, family, and a few people we’ve never even met, and I’m extremely grateful for how far that support has gotten us. We’re not expecting any one person to solve this for us. Just need a little bit of help and even a small contribution or simply sharing the campaign helps us get a little closer.

Thank you for reading, and thank you to anyone who is able to help us get the rest of the way there.

Medical Please help my pops out catch up with the bills while still at the hospital

Thumbnail

This is my pop, he's always been a happy, fun to hang around with, jokester, loving dad, which i try to demonstrate in the first picture of my dad🤘 before it all went downhill..

First off I'll try to keep this short but I'm not really good at that just fyi.. So this has started back in june 19, when my dad was seen for what we thought would be covid because he had fever, cold sweats, chills, headache, some coughing as well. However he came out negative for flu, covid, the common cold, etc. Got an IV, blood drawn for testing which was going to take a while for results, was eventually discharged that same day.

The next day was the same, was getting fevers, and wanted lots of blankets on him which was SO unlike him because he doesnt bother sleeping with blankets at night, so this was completely out of the ordinary for him. All he could do was just continue taking tylenol. June 21st comes and he's shaking uncontrollably, and throwing up.. immediately went to emergency.

I wish I could post videos, but the third picture of my dad is him shaking uncontrollably, and wanted to be covered completely because he felt so cold. After so many blood drawn for testing and many sleepless nights having to stay at the hospital, typhus comes out positive (which you can actually see spots on his arm in the first picture). And treatment finally begins.

For two almost three weeks he's been at the hospital, going through all sorts of testing, and now treatment. Unfortunately he becomes impatient because he's stressing out that he hasn't gone back to work and is starting to get really behind with the bills. So 3 days later he gets discharged but instructed to continue treatment at home (7 more days).

Unfortunately stuff happened from his previous job and was trying to look for a new job once he was back home. For 2 weeks he struggled looking for a job. He finally gets hired for a job but unfortunately, his symptoms have started to come back.. but since it's a new job, he didn't want to ask to start next week so off he went to work (he's a truck driver). The whole trip was, in my father's words "hell on earth". He was so ill, so physically exhausted, vomiting, drenching his clothing and blankets with his sweat. He could not stop sweating. We were all stressing that something could happen to him out on the road but thank God he made it home safe.

So now here we are, 5th picture of my dad taken just 2 days ago and is extremely ill again. We've come to find out yesterday that he now has an infected gallbladder that will need to be removed, and a tumor the size of a tennnis ball has been found in his liver which we have yet to find out if it's cancerous or not, as biopsy will be done this Monday.

My dad hasnt been able to work these few months and is struggling to keep up with all the bills. He's the breadwinner as my mom has too many health issues herself that she cannot physically work even if she wanted to (even she's recently had to go to the hospital a few times again, it's been very stressful). I don't live with him, but i have younger siblings that he's still providing for.

I have asked a few friends and family for some help and now asking help from you guys, as i desperately want to see my dad be happy and clowning around again and not have to stress so much since he's already going through so much.. thank you for taking the time to read all this if you did.

Any donation helps, if you can't donate, sharing to spread word helps out just as much.

Take care and God bless you all.

Education Help me commence my postgraduate studies as a foreign student in Germany

Hello,

I am Abdullah and i have living been in Germany for the last 10 years. I recently finished a bachelor's degree on the subjects of cultural studies, anthropology and decolonial perspectives. Shortly after, the decision to commence my studies and pursue a higher degree came easy to me.

Being the first in my family to be privilaged to study abroad and acquire a degree in the humanities, I hope to play a positive role in making marginalized realities more visible. I grew up in Jordan within the Circassian minority. I came to realize that our realities are but a reflection of the complexity of being human; and within the feeling of being "special" lies the common denominator that binds us together as humans.

My thesis deals with the intricacies of identity and its construction within contexts of dispersion. By navigating the Circassian context in Jordan and in the diaspora, i aim to unravel the intertwined webs that connect people across space and time. Such inquiries can be extrapolated upon other contexts and help uncover how social injustice and power dynamics are closely at play whenever we talk about the social context. I am currently attempting to translate the thesis into arabic in order to present it to my community back in Jordan and engage in constructive dialouge about the challanges that we are facing as a minority with an endangered language.

My journey through my undergraduate studies has been full of challanges and enriching experiences. Looking back at these times, i can't help but feel proud of what i have accomplished and how far i have come, both intellectually and personally. Throughout, i personally financed my studies and expense by working 20-30 hours/week jobs - sometimes more that one at a time.

I came to the realization that this time, i wish to dedicate myself fully to my studies. A huge part of my undergraduate studies consisted of weighing and make the choice between my financial stability and studies. Being a foreigner in the EU, I unfortunately have to undergo annual (financial) inspections in order to retain my residency permit.

Your help and donations can play an essential role in how i engage with the materials and subjects of my postgraduate studies. They would give me eough play room to navigate the demanding context of transcultural studies.

In the meantime, i wish to find ways in which i can engage my local community and offer a hand within the sector of integration. Ideally i would work with children with migration backgrounds at schools and offer them assistance within their daily endeavours.

I hope this caught your attention and i appreciate the very fact that you came this far. If you would like to contribute, please visit this linkĀ https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-me-finance-my-postgraduate-studiesĀ .

Greetings and best regards :)

Animal From terrified shelter rescue to brave fighter

TL;DR:

Adopted in Dec 23, 3yo Toffee went from a terrified shelter cat to a loving cuddle bug. A sudden emergency revealed a mass and fluid accumulation. He tested FeLV+, but his organ values and bloodwork are completely normal, making him a great candidate for IV chemo. We need help covering treatment costs (~€5,000–€7,000 in Austria). 100% of leftover funds will be donated to his rescue shelter!

Hi everyone,

We need your help to save our 3-year-old cat, Toffee.

My girlfriend rescued him on December 23rd from a shelter where he spent weeks hiding in terror and getting bullied. Once home, he bloomed into the sweetest, most trusting companion.

A few days ago, Toffee was rushed to the vet with severe breathing issues. Emergency procedures drained fluid from his chest caused by a tumor/mass.

Tests revealed he is FeLV-positive, which likely caused the mass. However, FeLV-associated lymphomas respond exceptionally well to chemotherapy! Most importantly:

His kidney and liver values are completely normal and

his blood panel is healthy, giving him the green light for treatment.

He has already started intravenous chemotherapy with steroid support, his only chance to beat this. The included vet bill is just the first of many more to come soon.

Between emergency intervention, ongoing IV chemo sessions, regular blood checks, and medication, costs are estimated at €5,000 – €7,000. As young pet owners, we cannot cover this alone. Toffee wants to live, and we won't give up on him.

If any funds remain after Toffee's treatment and vet bills are fully paid, every single remaining cent will be donated directly to the animal shelter Toffee was rescued from.

Every single dollar/euro makes a difference for his next chemo session.

Sharing this post helps us reach more fellow animal lovers!

Thank you so much for your support and for giving Toffee a fighting chance!

My cat henry needs to be hospitalized, I was able to pay to get him unblocked but unfortunately that is only part of what he needs, he has another blockage and can not eat or drink and needs to have a catheter inserted as well as have fluids hooked up to supplement his hydration and nutrients. His renal levels are elevated and he needs to be medicated and monitored until they come back down to normal levels. He is inflamed and in pain and I don't want to euthanize him due to not being able to pay for his care, he is only 3.5 years old and has a lot of life left to live if i can get him the help he needs to treat these issues. I attached a photo of his medical bill showing the total, i tried applying for grants and care credit, scratchpay, and several other places to no avail as i have no credit. Henry means the world to me and anything at all to help keep him here is infinitely appreciated, link to his gofundme https://gofund.me/4d6c15577

Medical I want to finally be able to smile without shame again

LINK: https://gofund.me/9c0fa0a3e

Hello, my name is Willi.

Honestly, I don't even really know how to start a text like this when every word feels difficult. It takes an incredible amount of courage for me to make my story public. Showing these pictures of myself is even harder. Pictures where people can see exactly what I've felt ashamed of for so many years.

I've had serious problems with my teeth since childhood. It was never just a small dental issue. My teeth have always been more vulnerable, more sensitive and more fragile than other people's. I was diagnosed with a genetic disorder or malfunction of the tooth enamel. Tooth enamel is normally the protective layer of the teeth. When this protective layer doesn't work properly or isn't formed correctly, the teeth are missing exactly what should make them strong.

For me, that means my teeth never had the same chance as healthy teeth.

Over the years, a lot of work has already been done. Teeth were repaired, filled, rebuilt and treated. And every time, I had hope. Hope that this time it would last. Hope that things would get better. Hope that one day I wouldn't have to live with the constant fear that something would break again.

But a lot of it broke again.

And with every broken tooth, I didn't just lose a piece of a tooth. I lost another piece of my confidence.

Many people only see damaged teeth. They don't see the story behind them. They don't see the childhood where I already felt ashamed. They don't see the comments, the looks, the bad experiences. They don't see what it feels like to automatically control your mouth when you laugh. To be careful when you speak. To avoid smiling properly in photos. To hold yourself back in moments where you actually just want to feel free.

Damaged teeth change you. Not only on the outside. They change something inside you too.

Over the years, I learned how to hide my smile. I learned how to live with the shame. But honestly, I don't want to live like that anymore. I don't want to think about it every single day. I don't want that heavy feeling in my stomach when I look in the mirror. I don't want to be afraid that people will see my teeth before they see me.

Showing these pictures here is a huge step for me. I thought about it for a long time, whether I should really do this. It feels vulnerable. It feels uncomfortable. But I want to be honest. I want to show how serious the situation really is. Not to get pity, but because I finally want to stop hiding.

Dental visits are also especially difficult for me because of bad experiences from my childhood. My first dentist often made me feel like it was my own fault. Like I should be ashamed. Like my teeth were something people could treat me badly for. You don't simply forget experiences like that. They stay with you. And they make every new appointment harder than many people can imagine.

Every visit to the dentist is still connected with a racing heart, strong nervousness and inner tension for me. Days before an appointment, my thoughts already start circling around what will happen, what will be said and whether I'll have to feel ashamed again.

Even during my first consultation with the new dentist, I felt this way. Although I knew I had to take this step, I was extremely nervous. During the examination and while all the pictures of my teeth were being taken, I was close to tears several times. Not because anyone treated me badly, but because in moments like that everything comes back up: the shame, the fear, the memories and the feeling of having to show myself so vulnerably.

For many people, a dental appointment might simply be unpleasant. For me, every single one is a huge mental hurdle.

Still, I've now found the courage to start again.

I have a new partner by my side who supports me, gives me strength and shows me that I don't have to hide. Because of her, I've started to believe again that change might be possible. That maybe there's still a way to rebuild my teeth and get back a piece of my quality of life.

After my first consultation with the new dentist, I was told that the expected treatment costs will likely be between 10,000 and 20,000 euros. Hearing that amount honestly hit me hard. Of course, I knew my dental situation was serious. But hearing it so clearly felt like the ground had been pulled from under my feet.

At the same time, for the first time in a long time, there was also another feeling: hope.

The hope of one day being able to smile openly again.

The hope of being able to eat normally again.

The hope of no longer constantly fearing the next setback.

The hope of seeing myself differently in the mirror again.

I've had dental insurance for many years. Still, with such an extensive treatment, there'll likely be a high personal share left that I can't manage on my own.

That's why I'm asking for help.

For me, this isn't about perfect Hollywood teeth. It isn't about vanity. It isn't about wanting to look better just for the sake of appearance. It's about being able to live normally again. To eat, speak and smile again without shame. Without fear. Without the constant feeling that I have to hide.

Every bit of support, no matter the amount, means an incredible amount to me. Every euro brings me one step closer to this goal. And even if someone can't donate, it would still help me so much if this campaign was shared.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my story.

Thank you to everyone who doesn't judge too quickly.

Thank you to everyone who supports me on this journey.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Disaster/Emergency Seeking help to get through a dental emergency

https://gofund.me/8f78b9525

The body of the fundraiser goes into this a little bit, but I'm gonna go into it a little more here.

I have been trying for years to reach a place that's financially stable, and I'm finally there...-ish. My husband is from Australia and it has taken a lot of time and resources to get him his US green card. 10 years as a matter of fact. We were married in November of 2016. Since then we have had to go through immigration attorneys along with flights for him to-and-from Australia. As the sole financial provider, I've been able to keep us afloat--but barely.

This was going to be "my year". He has a job now, we have two incomes and we're catching up on debt. The mortgage is finally up to date, our credit card debt is consolidated and almost cleared.

Earlier this year, in January, I had a dental infection and had to have three wisdom teeth extracted. We do not have dental insurance. Then earlier this Summer, our first financial setback hit. Our 16 year old cat got very sick. She was our whole world and we tried to move heaven and Earth within the confines of our limited financial flexibility to make her better. Ultimately we were unable to and had to pay for her to peacefully cross over. The veterinarian fees on top of the emotional strain of this causing missed work made our financial situation once again very rocky.

We're just about caught up again...and now another curveball. My husband has a very bad dental infection in two of his wisdom teeth. Truthfully, he has put it off for years because we couldn't afford it (we still can't) but the pain is causing him to lose sleep and the infection is causing him additional health issues. He's downing ibuprofin and tylenol like candy and losing a TON of weight.

I truly feel like this is the last curveball we'll be dealt (knock on wood) but even though it's just $1500, it's more than we can afford right now. Truthfully, it might even be more expensive than that but I don't feel comfortable asking for more.

Looking at this sub, I feel silly even asking for this looking at the gravity of some of these other stories, but I just want us to finally be in the clear and we've tried so hard for so long to do so and it's demoralizing to have another setback when we're so close. And even beyond that, I don't want my husband to be in this pain anymore. He's grinned and beared it for 9 years now (that's when this tooth first broke) and it breaks my heart that he's dealt with it silently because he knew it was never "the right time" for us to take care of it.

Anything that anyone can give is appreciated more than you could ever know.

My wife was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid leukemia in 2023. At the time we had ok insurance, and she worked through that first year. Second year was harder, and due to the side effects of chemo she lost hours at her job due to being sick, at the same time I as also let go from my job. This has led us to become behind, and now this year we are starting treatment again but with a backlog of home bills, mortgage, etc. My wife is struggling to work full time, and I’m currently working part time while struggling to find full time work. Last month she was finally able to get healthcare through the state- but we are still far behind in catching up. We have applied for financial assistance through the hospital, state, etc but are having a hard time qualifying because we work even though it’s minimal pay / hours. I’m posting for my wife because her Reddit account does not have enough karma. But she will answer any questions. Any help / advice is deeply appreciated. https://gofund.me/0214d3c8f

Education 18 years after getting my first job at 14, I hired my first teenage farm apprentice. I’m trying to keep his position going year-round.

Eighteen years ago, when I was 14, I got my first job at the Braddock Youth Project.
That experience ended up leading me into agriculture and community education, and now all these years later I’m running Grey’s Bouquets, a small flower farm in North Versailles, PA.
This year I hired my first teenage apprentice, Carter, who is 14.
It’s been really cool watching him become part of the farm, learn new things, take on real responsibility, and genuinely enjoy being here. He’s learning everything from growing and harvesting flowers to making bouquets, saving seeds, building trails, working with irrigation, and taking care of the goats and bees.
What started as a few paid hours a week has become one of the parts of the farm I care most about.
I started a GoFundMe to help turn Carter’s seasonal job into a year-round paid apprenticeship and eventually make it possible to bring on more young people.
The campaign raised more than $2,500 in its first day, which has been pretty incredible to watch. The goal is $25,000.
There’s something very full-circle about getting my first job at 14 and, eighteen years later, having a farm where I can create that kind of opportunity for somebody else.
Sometimes one good job given to a kid can keep shaping lives for a very long time.

Medical Mom’s journey with cancer ended but the bills have not

I think I posted wrong the first time, I’m sorry. This is my mom (pictured with my sister) in hospice. She was diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer back in September of 2025. Less than a year later, on June 11th, 2026, she passed away after fluid was building in her lungs. I don’t have any pictures of medical bills because my dad doesn’t know I’m asking for help, but here is the link to her obituary: https://www.online-tribute.com/MaryLouiseDooley

During her 9 month battle with cancer, she had chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy. She had a few surgeries during this time as well to insert a port for the chemo and a surgery for a feeding tube (due to the tumor being in her esophagus and not allowing food to pass through). There were multiple overnight stays in the hospital due to unimaginable pain and constant vomiting. Then towards the end, fluid was building in her lungs and she had made the decision not to receive any further interventions. She was transported to hospice where she stayed for three days until she passed.

Despite my mom’s battle with cancer gracefully ending, the medical bills have not ended. My dad and I also had to take some time off work unpaid to help care for my mom as she couldn’t be left alone due to the amount of meds she was on and the risk of overdosing. I am asking for help to even make the tiniest dent in these expenses. Anything helps, really. $1, $5, anything. Thank you for taking the time to read. Cancer sucks. ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

Edit: Thank you so much to everyone who let me know my dad might not be responsible! Until I get confirmation, all donations will go to funeral and cremation costs and the credit cards that my dad used to pay for the medical expenses. šŸ¤

Housing Help Me Avoid Homelessness While Living With an Ultra-Rare Progressive Disability

I’m currently facing homelessness at the end of this month and am trying to raise enough to secure temporary housing for September while I continue working through disability and housing-assistance programs.

I have Juvenile Hyaline Fibromatosis Syndrome (JHF/HFS), an ultra-rare, progressive and physically disabling genetic condition that I was diagnosed with at around four years old. It causes abnormal tissue growth throughout my body, chronic pain, joint contractures and progressive loss of mobility. I’ve undergone dozens of surgeries throughout my life, including amputations of multiple toes and parts of my fingers.
Despite my condition, I worked for most of my adult life and supported myself independently. Unfortunately my physical limitations have progressed and maintaining employment has become increasingly difficult. I’m currently going through the Social Security disability process while trying to keep myself housed in the meantime. I moved to New Jersey in May to stay with someone who new about my disability and circumstances and offered me a stable place to be while I complete the process but they did not uphold their initial offer and I’m now back in a survival state.
My temporary housing, here in Red Bank, Nj ends at the end of August, and I currently have nowhere secured afterward. I’m trying to find the least expensive room or month-to-month housing I can for September. I do have some of my own money saved and will be contributing that toward housing, food, and other essentials. I’m not expecting strangers to completely support me. I’m trying to bridge the remaining gap without exhausting every dollar I have, because what remains is also my only emergency cushion for food, transportation, my phone, and other necessities.

I’m also a full time student attending class starting September 9. My courses are all online thankfully, but it’s even more essential I can stabilize housing by the first. By the end of September or beginning or October I’ll receive financial aid disbursements which will help continue to carry me over until SSDI approval.

My GoFundMe contains more information about my situation and documentation supporting what I’ve described here.

Medical Asking for help, please, with unexpected surgery and the expenses that come with it

My husband and I both work(ed) full time as a medical assistant and a truck driver. He spent a lot of time away from home to provide a modest but nice life for our family and doggies.
When he started experiencing shortness of breath he ignored it and didn’t really mention it. When it became a struggle to catch his breath just walking to the car it certainly became noticeable and concerning for me.
The final straw was him laying down in the back of his truck for his sleeping shift and feeling unable to breathe even with his CPAP on.
He came home while I was getting ready for work and I scolded him for not going to the urgent care 2 weeks ago when I told him to. He said he would go that day. I told him NO! if he went to urgent care they would do two tests and send him to the hospital, so pack a bag with your chargers and underwear cuz they’re going to keep you.
Unfortunately I was correct and at 53 he was told he has to have his aortic valve replaced and he wouldn’t be going back to work now or for at least 2-3 months after his open heart surgery.
He’s been handling it ok, but this week we do the pre-op and the surgery is Friday. He broke down today. I know he’s scared about the surgery, he’s scared about the bills, which his salary covered most of, he’s scared about providing for his family, and he’s scared if he’ll be able to drive for his career again. I think everything is hitting him this week. His pre-op testing is going to cost us around 2,300 and we aren’t sure what bills will follow.
My PTO covers almost 30hours, however I don’t know how much time beyond that I will have to take with FMLA and no pay.
Any contribution would be appreciated greatly. I know everyone is struggling right now but even $5 could help us reach our goal. Having his stress about the things that at the end of the day don’t matter when you’re having a serious surgery and recovery, like bills and medical bills, relieved with help him focus on recovery and the next steps. Thank you for any help you can provide. It will truly be appreciated.
Please donate here, I can’t thank you enough. If you’re unable to contribute please share this post.

Housing Thank you.

Hi, you may know me as Key_Pickle. I have since deleted that reddit and all my social media. This time last year, I made a gofund me to help me get away from a domestic violence sitution. I asked for a high number of $7,000 as I was having to move state lines, with no car and two kids. And ya'll provided me those funds to leave.

I just wanted to give everyone an update, that I'm safe. My kids are safe. I own a car now, I have a job. I JUST GOT A RAISE. Everything, is because of ya'll. I just made my first dontion to a gofund me account, and I hope it helps their life. As much as it helped mine.

I know times are really hard for everyone right now, and its hard to let go of loose change, but do know. Even if you never hear back. You made a difference. My life is forever changed because of you. Thank you. ā¤ļø

Disaster/Emergency My bonus dad lost his home to a wildfire

Hey all!

I’m Amanda Schartau, I’m the one that made the GFM. The Hawk Fire in Reno, NV has devastated the area with multiple homes lost. Unfortunately my bonus dad, John Montgomery, has lost his home. Watch duty makes it look like his home may have been spared, but we were gutted yesterday when a video came out showing where his home should be, and later when John was allowed just 10 minutes in the evacuation area - he couldn’t even walk to what used to be his bedroom, his kitchen… because there was a flare up and it was burning what little is left.

Everything is gone. The only things he was able to grab was his dog Q, and the truck he used to evacuate… those details are in the link in the story.

John doesn’t have a village to rally around him and help him get back on his feet.

Truly anything helps… I hope I did this right šŸ˜ž
