My wife and I are working on our first game together - Good Luck, Little Truck!
Working on a game with your partner is the coolest, most rewarding experience. Our steam page went up recently and we couldn't be more stoked!
We originally started this project on unreal engine, but ported over to Godot early in development, which was the right move.

selfpromo (games) Godot is so powerful for things OTHER than game making too.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I wanted a way to animate models from my game with the shaders from my game actually on them, mainly my outline shader, for use on my devlogs. I used Godot's movie maker to do this, and my in house animation system to make it work since I already had IK set up.
Right now, it just bobs the head a little to volume and gesticulates randomly while talking. Still, that is way better than the PNG in the corner I was going to use!
I'm showing it off because the more I learn about Godot, the more amazed I am at how USEFUL it is as a tool.

help me Is there a way to do replacement animation?
Is there a way to do replacement animation in Godot? I'm thinking of something similar to Mario's running animation in Mario Wonder where extra boot models are added for the smear frames. Another example of this would be Kirby having different models for when his mouth is open or closed. Basically, I want to know if there is a way to add and remove models mid animation for a more stylized look. Thank you!

A guy walking through a forest with his dog. That's genuinely all there is so far, besides some silly bonfire mechanic.
What do you think so far? whatever stands out to you, good or bad. Please don't hold back.
And I'm curious what kind of game would you want this to become?

selfpromo (games) Closer Than Stars, a solo project built in Godot, finally has a Steam page!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve been working on this project solo for a while and finally have a trailer and Steam page to share. It’s a psychological sci-fi horror game set around Jupiter, where you operate a remote radio observatory and compare strange signals with a second operator around Callisto.
You can find the Steam page here:

selfpromo (games) Encouraging reviews in the GMTK game jam led me to launch my first Steam page for OILST
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm so excited! The response I got in the GMTK game jam was better than I ever could have wished for, with several people asking it to be turned into a full game. So I spent some time polishing up the visuals for a trailer, and today the Steam page for OILST was approved! It's just a simple puzzle game, but I'm over the moon at the thought of having an actual audience outside pestering my friends to play test my game. Woo!

Eat, run, jump, push boxes and switch the rules in this scrumptiously adorable puzzle platformer!
The game is about this little cat-shaped thing called Scrunglo and its unending gluttony. In order to saciate its hunger you'll have to travel across multiple dimensions to find The Fruit.
We've been working on this game after hours for more than 2 years now and would love it if you checked out our Steam page and maybe wishlisted it if you like it:

I love when you change something, at first not so meaningfull but turns out it elevates your game to a new level. For me, was working on VFX.
Was not giving them the much needed attention they deserved.
What was the thing that made yours look or feel better but you were not expecting to have so much impact?

fun & memes Well, after 40 hours of work, I finally finished my main menu
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve been working really hard on creating the title screen for my video game, but I have this weird combination of not having enough skill and being way too demanding of myself. After making like 40 different versions of my main menu, I think, and I mean really think, I’ve finally managed to make a version that I actually like.
Let me know what you think, and if you feel like I should add or change anything. Any advice is more than welcome!
I literally only made the main menu so far. What you see is everything there is to the game right now hahaha. I’ll share the very first version in the comments.

selfpromo (games) I made a stone painting cozy game in godot 4.7
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Having a stressful couple of weeks and just wanted to make something relaxing. In this game, you paint dots on stones to make patterns. You can choose from 37 different stencils currently or go freeform. Once you're done, you can click the reset button, and your old stone is removed, and you get a new one to paint fresh.
Little technical note, the paint is made out of meta balls, one of the first times I have used them in a project. I think they look more realistic for little paint blobs instead of just normal meshes. This also allows them to combine naturally when the paint blobs overlap.
Would love to hear any thoughts you guys have! And if you make something would love to see it! You can take a UI free screenshot with the top-left button.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Breeding in my Godot game used to be completely text-based, but now the parents and their kitten actually display with their inherited traits!
Maple apparently decided she needed to look exactly like her dad 😂 I still have a lot more colors and patterns to add, but I’m really happy that this is finally working.

discussion Trying to make a game and totally screwing it up
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So, I'm trying to implement an enemy spawn system in my game, but something (AKA me) went wrong — it's spawning way too much, more than I was able to record (it almost crashed, so I had to close it). Anyway, since I'm neither a programmer nor an artist, I'm open to suggestions ╰( ̄ω ̄o)
