The first one because at least it’s bringing some texture into the beige space and it plays off the texture of the coffee table

8

u/EntertainmentGold807 10d ago

Yes! same thing i noticed too

6

u/DipinDotsDidi 10d ago

I think the first one is too dark and clashes with the table.

I think the 3rd is better because it's a similar texture but a lighter color that helps the table and couch stand out.

The 4th is also a nice choice.

2

u/hefferj 8d ago

Both the 3rd and the 4th clash with the couch, and just look cheap. The 1st is the way to go.

2

u/Imaginary_Sector128 9d ago

Agreed! I love the texture.

There is very little difference in these. They are virtually the same. The room could use a little life and a rug with some color would be a good place to start.

7

u/Leeeloominai 9d ago

Or a rug with some pattern, maybe.

Trick question. They are all the same and devoid of color or character

u/Southernms 10d ago

You need a rug that has a color and a pattern in it.

71

u/Vivid-Mode-8766 10d ago

None. They're boring. Your furniture deserves better than them.

5

u/longpas 10d ago

I have to agree. I'd get a piece of art for above the couch and try again with a rug that has an accent color from the art and buy a coordinating throw blanket or pillow. Like green or blue.

3

u/Vivid-Mode-8766 10d ago

Honestly, even a cream and black patterned rug would be better, but it would be tough matching the creams.

17

u/Thestartend 10d ago

Going to be honest here, the room will be very boring if you get a beige rug.

12

u/Dontknow60 10d ago

You need contrast in this room.

9

u/glamie22 10d ago

You definitely need some color in your carpet. It will warm the room up and you will feel like smiling every time you went to the room! Can you add some plants? In colorful pots?

u/No-Highlight-6452 10d ago

This setup needs some color. Either in the rug, throw pillows or curtains. Something to break up the monochrome

8

u/BiWitchbish 10d ago

Find some artwork to put behind the couch and match the rug to that.

8

u/alliekat237 10d ago

I think none of- you need some color!

13

u/biscuitfool 10d ago

None. All boring and beige. Get a rug with some color to bring some life into the space. And hang some art behind the couch.

I love this coffee table!! Where did you buy it? Do you mind sharing the cost and the link? TYSM!

u/EntertainmentGold807 10d ago

As long as you’re keeping the neutral color scheme, I would choose 1 —the first one: it offers texture & a little contrast👍 it’s a clean, peaceful room. (Maybe add a plant?🪴)

5

u/Pennypup898 10d ago

They are all very similar. Find something with some color. If you really want a neutral rug go for one with some texture & /or pattern.

5

u/AdditionalDeal2372 10d ago

4!! I think some plants would add some contrast but maintain a cleaner aesthetic if you’re not looking to add more color like people are suggesting.

9

u/pigswearingargyle 10d ago

These are all so similar that it won’t really matter- just pick the one that feels the nicest underfoot. But perhaps you could look at something with a bit of color or pattern to help liven up the room a bit. Sage green or pale blue and cream would still keep the neutral vibe of your room but add a little something more.

6

u/whitswhisper 10d ago

Honestly I get what they're saying about neutrals being safe but a sage green or pale blue rug would actually make the room feel more intentional. The cream tones r already there so it'd tie together without being too loud

9

u/ssyoit 10d ago

It’s like 50 shades of beige

9

u/mybarn20187 10d ago

All boring. Sorry. Pick a color and go with it.

4

u/buffybot232 10d ago

The 1st one. It adds texture to the room. It's neutral in color and dark enough to hide dirt and stain well. It also appears to be higher quality since it's thicker than the others. Add some art work behind the sofa, a plant for the coffee table, colorful pillows and an arching floor lamp and you'll be set. And is there a reason why the piano is so close to the sofa?

4

u/andiinAms 10d ago

Are you going for an all white/neutral aesthetic? Trying to understand your goals for the room.

→ More replies (3)

4

u/MostlyMTG 10d ago

Practically speaking, the couch already isn’t forgiving to stains. Pick a carpet that adds color and is forgiving to stains.

4

u/Big_Sympathy_2032 10d ago

Same....same to me

5

u/Medium_Promotion_891 10d ago

None of these really adds anything to the space. r/rugstoobrown

3

u/ashsassin95 10d ago

Its like one of those spot the difference puzzles

7

u/miacraig101 10d ago

Gurl please!!!! They all
Look like yesterday’s oatmeal!!!

6

u/AndSheWon 10d ago

None of them. You need a bit of color. Those rugs ruin your room.

3

u/MycologistPutrid7494 10d ago

The AI even stole your TV in one image.

3

u/Major-Cranberry-4206 10d ago

None of them. How about one with color other than a neutral like the wall and sofa? How about a sage green or Laguna’s green or light/medium aqua?

3

u/rudeneja 10d ago

At first glance I thought these were all the same rugs tbh. I’d look for something with a bit more color!

7

u/I_Support_JK_Rowling 10d ago

careful, these are all too lively and colorful

→ More replies (1)

4

u/IWantToScreamLoudly 10d ago

I say you can go with any of these rugs and still breathe some life into your space. I asked AI to add art, plants, textured window treatments, and pillows. Here's the result...I like it.

6

u/LucentLunacy 10d ago

This has to be a troll post.

2

u/zoe_exclusivo 10d ago

La 1 y la 2 para que resalten los muebles

2

u/andiinAms 10d ago

Are you going for an all white/neutral aesthetic? Trying to understand your goals for the room.

2

u/llmitch63 10d ago

2, 1, 3 and finally 4.

You might also consider something with some subtle pattern to it. Right now everything sort of just runs into the next object.

2

u/BB_cakes620 10d ago

Brown, brown, brown, or brown?

2

u/MusicSavesSouls 10d ago

The first one because of the texture. I, personally, would go with a bold yellow. 😄

2

u/BrilliantTop5012 10d ago

I actually like the texture of the 4th one. But please god, center the rug to the couch. It’s so strange all off on the corner and then the rug under part of the piano.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/MsMo999 10d ago

I like 2 best

2

u/pipked 9d ago

None of those, it's all too beige .. get something with popping colour and scatter cushions to match

2

u/SpringStill 9d ago

3rd 🤘🏻

2

u/edmunddantesforever 8d ago

Is this a joke? They’re all the same! It’s the difference btw a beige rug & a beige rug! 🤣

→ More replies (2)

2

u/ok_cool_na 7d ago

Dieser Raum braucht unbedingt noch mehr beige. Not

4

u/Maoleficent 10d ago

I'm guessing you are going to add some color and personality so that people will be happy to live or visit. Maybe add some accents and then choose the rug color.

4

u/Intelligent-Wolf557 10d ago

I would use a beige rug with a pattern of other colours in it. You need some color in the room. But if you must, I choose #1 because it at least has some texture.

2

u/plantlover631 10d ago

I think you might want to go with something with more colors

2

u/Felcia_2020 10d ago

If you must stay with this color palette, the first one. If not, none of them. Bring some color into the space.

2

u/Normal_Surprise_5623 10d ago

If those are my only choice #1 room is screaming for some color

2

u/Ok_Resolution_2208 10d ago

I recommend a different rug with color!

2

u/Gummy_Bear_Ragu 10d ago

1 or 4. People need to chill, not everybody likes color.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/BethHannen12 10d ago

The first one or third. A colourful print above the couch would be good. Regards.

1

u/CompetitiveSet392 10d ago

1st 👍🏽

1

u/captrabidrabbittrip3 10d ago

I like the first one. It works with the table.

1

u/minnowmonroe 10d ago

I'm partial to blue, with brown and coral accents.

1

u/Savings_Cattle4847 10d ago

I like the first one because it at least adds texture and a somewhat different color than the couch

1

u/Desperate_Bat_512 10d ago

What's your favorite color?

1

u/ok-MTLmunchies 10d ago

The greige one

1

u/hinterstoisser 10d ago

A different color would be nice. But the texture on 1 is good.

Too monotone RN

1

u/canvasshoes2 10d ago

Do you want a monochrome look? If so, If it were me, I'd just opt for white. But to keep it from looking so flat and bland, get one with some pattern to it.

If not, I'd get something with more color to it. Maybe something with some black to it to bring in the piano.

1

u/Sufficient_Bed335 10d ago

1, but pull it away from the wall. Should be 12” from the beginning of the couch.

1

u/sopranoobsessed 10d ago
  1. I like the tone with the other pieces and the trim adds a bit of oomph.

1

u/bruh_waddup 10d ago

For everyone saying the room needs color or life, just know I'm not even close to finished moving in yet lmao. I plan on decorating much more after I figure out the rug

1

u/TowelFine6933 10d ago

The green one.

1

u/New-Pickle-1591 10d ago

One all the way

1

u/EmuAvailable7597 10d ago

The first rug. The color and texture pulls everything together.

1

u/Most-Penalty9202 10d ago

Actually none I think something with some color to break up all the beige

1

u/Fun_Spirit7328 10d ago

Too much beige. You need something with color for sure.

1

u/Arabella6623 10d ago

You’re kidding

1

u/Ready-Chicken6814 10d ago

I like the texture of number 4, makes it more interesting

1

u/SuperStumbleweed 10d ago

The 4th one looks the cushiest, but the 1st one breaks up the monotony the best... I'd add a few color splashes within the decor with either carpet, though what color specifically to go with would depend on the carpet...

1

u/Vermillion5000 10d ago

The darker one but seriously, consider something with pattern, it all looks very one note

1

u/Rugnrollau 10d ago

I’d go with #4.

The room already has a very clean neutral palette, so I think the subtle variation in #4 adds just enough texture and character without making the space busy.

I also like how its warmer tones connect the cream sofa with the dark timber coffee table. The plainer options work, but to me they make everything blend together a little too much.

One other thing — whichever one you choose, the size looks good. Having the front of the sectional sitting on the rug gives the whole seating area much better proportions.

#4 gets my vote 👍

1

u/Sittingonalog1960 10d ago

I like the colourful one

1

u/Obvious-cherry-9208 9d ago

Number 1 has good texture but prefer no. 2. Although I’d want a bright colour 🎨😁.

1

u/AckCK2020 9d ago

1 is the most interesting but still very monotone with the rest of the room. I would try adding printed wallpaper and a different area rug - one with a complementary pattern and color to the wallpaper. Curtains?

1

u/OldArtichoke433 9d ago

If sticking to either of these 4 choose the least expensive option based on quality vs appearance.

1

u/Known-Grad1999 9d ago

All bad seriously. Try a navy or Forrest green or a light yellow are light l

1

u/jibbergirl26 9d ago

Love the first one.

1

u/rdugirl 9d ago

Eh, boring beige, you need some color

1

u/Disaster1992 9d ago

You must be fun at parties

→ More replies (3)

1

u/Repulsive_Chard_3652 9d ago

AI always looks bad.

1

u/love_JUDGING86 9d ago

Carpet Number 2, shantay you stay....

1

u/Past-Run-9009 9d ago

How about none … it’s drab. Get a color or pattern in there. The room looks like your just going to sit in the dark watching tv so who gives a poop what your rug looks like cause you are only going to see it once or twice a week durring the day. Otherwise you’ll be in the dark binge watching or some thing. Get a pattern a color. Your off white dog is going to pee all over that beige thing.

1

u/GySgtMaria 9d ago

I would use a print since the furniture ialready had a flat look.

1

u/Top-Celery9897 9d ago

How about dark blue.

1 because of color contrast and it's texture is unique.

1

u/Financial_Divide_697 9d ago

I think you need some color in there

1

u/Busy-Director3990 9d ago

I would pick a rug with some color in it like blue, red and green. Why do you want the room so BLAND.

1

u/3bigdogs 9d ago edited 9d ago

If I had to choose one of the rugs shown I would choose the first one. Otherwise I would choose something more bold to add some life to the space.

Rug is from Etsy. Treeva Keyborg is from Ikea.

1

u/Dontknow60 9d ago

I like this. Warms the room up adds movement, and goes with the minimal style.

1

u/Dontknow60 9d ago

Other ideas

Stays in minimal color scheme but adds texture and contrast

1

u/Dontknow60 9d ago

Other options, I like the green that brings in the green from outside

1

u/Dontknow60 9d ago

Contemporary and traditional

1

u/StinaLee86 9d ago

I would go with a deep green color.

1

u/Mindless-Face8264 9d ago

I recommend a 4th or 5th option that has a pattern, texture or some color.

1

u/Mindless-Face8264 9d ago

I’d also suggest a plant. I have several faux trees (I have cats 🐈‍⬛ can’t have real) in my apartment. They bring more life and color to my space and honestly people can’t tell the difference.

1

u/bruh_waddup 9d ago

Is there any particular reason for the hate, and why all my comments are getting downvoted when I literally say something like "what color are you thinking?" So bizarre

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Stillstanding77 9d ago

4 if I had to choose. but color would be better

1

u/june_june_hannah_ 9d ago

Can I get the links to 1 and 4 please? :)

1

u/sophie777i4 9d ago

The 4th, but what about some color?

1

u/SetFabulous265 9d ago

Three, the ribbed carpet competes too much with the table

1

u/Mysecretthoughts1000 9d ago

Agree with texture in first one. But also consider texture under your feet.

1

u/nueroticbliss 9d ago

I like 1 and 4, gives some texture/pattern

1

u/thebucketlist47 9d ago

This isnt far off from the padded rooms you put crazy people in. Add some color!

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Turbulent-Security-7 9d ago

First one👌

1

u/Loose_Ad6820 9d ago

1 or 4 but you need something behind the couch, if you don’t want color, then some walnut shelves or walnut sculptural art hanging

→ More replies (1)

1

u/SnooCrickets8742 9d ago

4 and 2nd would be 1. I think you need something with texture or pattern.

1

u/National-Area5471 9d ago

One but you need to bring it out more into the room.

1

u/Sash19 9d ago

From these choices 2nd option would be my choice. Although need better options and more color

1

u/New_Awareness_9097 9d ago

i don't like any of them room needs some contrast

1

u/moonie1977 9d ago

None. Color.

1

u/CrankyCat007 9d ago

One or three to me

1

u/PeaceUvMind 9d ago

Love 3! It’s light plus goes good with the coffee table!

1

u/Mindless-Ice-5815 9d ago

4 is best and most forgiving cleanliness wise.

1

u/Apart-Photograph-778 9d ago

I agree the first one

1

u/Queenofwands817 9d ago

I like the first one.

1

u/AstraNuggz 9d ago

I didn’t read the title at all initially and had a hard time figuring out what the difference was in each picture. It probably doesn’t matter which one you choose, they all feel so dull. Maybe add a color? Like green, especially if you don’t want anything too extreme.

1

u/Vlatte420 9d ago

I like the texture of the first one.

1

u/Various-Language2549 9d ago

I’d suggest deciding on your artwork first, and then selecting an area rug that picks up on one or more of the colours, add some life to the space. Definitely need to either shift or shrink the rug once you get it, too. But looks like a good sized room, have fun decorating!

1

u/LilyLangtry 9d ago

I think you should forget the rug for now. Choose other items, accessories mainly. Take it one step at a time and save the packaging for possible returns.
Then the rug can bring it all together.

1

u/Full_Conversation709 9d ago

Why do I suddenly crave Reece's peanut butter cup?

1

u/Mysterious_Pitch_611 9d ago

Try a different color and some plants and some artwork. That room is devoid of life and personality. It’s scary.

1

u/Gullible_Ad1969 9d ago

The first one

1

u/moogiemomm 9d ago

I like number two for the lighter color and number four for the darker. But out of both of them I pick number four.

1

u/Grand-Scheme-22 9d ago

The differences are subtle.

1

u/Status-Affect-4944 9d ago

The first one, definitely - has some texture that fits with the table and its shade isn't too close to that of the sofa.

1

u/madshatt3red 9d ago

1 fa sho

3
Maybe

1

u/KindAwareness307 9d ago

5. Why? BECAUSE IT'S NOT BEIGE!

1

u/EmpathyFlowers 9d ago

Haha Are they different? Please find some color.

1

u/dandyrosesandshit 9d ago

The first one

1

u/PromotionSafe5823 9d ago

I think a rug with some color or interesting pattern would look great!

1

u/Important_Degree_784 9d ago

None. A. They’re all far too small, and B. you desperately need pattern somewhere in this room, it’s so generic and personality-free.

1

u/Scout_Pout14 9d ago

The second one

1

u/globalcitizen_1973 9d ago

You could really make your living room pop with a rug with color in it. Looks a bit bland between wall color, sofa, flooring and those rugs. Feels very safe.
Take a risk! 😊

1

u/Quiet-Community-4675 9d ago

I like the carpet on the balcony.

1

u/Sad_cuz-why779 9d ago

love the first one

1

u/IloveKiitty2 9d ago

I like 4.

1

u/Historical_Ad8874 9d ago

I like the bright orange one with all the colorful flowers on it!! It’s so vibrant!

1

u/Diligent-Owl-8178 9d ago

1 I like the stripes

1

u/crochetcutie48 9d ago

Why not a pop of color?

1

u/Mirandis1988 9d ago

To be honest I don’t love any of these you need color this space is just so sterile and cold

1

u/Effective_Target_182 9d ago

None. They are all boring beige.

1

u/Alexis_1985 9d ago

Add colour! Your room is drab beige, any colour would work and improve your space enormously. What colours do you like?

1

u/curleyshaz73 9d ago

They all look the same to me
