So a couple years ago I made the dumb mistake of changing my IMDB name to a stage name (that I never used). Anyways, this past year I was credited on a major feature film by my legal name (which was previously my original IMDB account) and I have done the "name change correction" process on IMDB about 5 times however my legal name keeps getting denied.

I've emailed them off of their "Help" page and there are no emails or phone numbers listed for assistance. I'm so disheartened and I truly don't know what else to do. I've been paying for an IMDB pro memberrship for the past couple years. Do I make a new profile and lose all of my acting credits? Or hope that someone approves my name change (which is literally on my drivers license and passport! AKA I don't know why it's being denied).

Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

"More like this" section's been completely broken for almost a week. These three titles are the only suggestions that I get for Back to the Future now and every movie I search gives me similar irrelevant suggestions. Sometimes it's magically fixed and works normal but most of the time it doesn't.

I think people treat the critic/audience score gap like one of them must be wrong. But I don’t think they’re actually measuring the same thing, so comparing them directly doesn’t really make sense in the first place.

Critics are mostly evaluating craft. Structure, direction, performance, how well the film accomplishes what it’s trying to do on a technical and artistic level. Audiences are mostly evaluating feeling. Did this move me, entertain me, make me want to watch it again. Those are two completely different value systems, not two attempts at the same measurement.

So instead of asking which score is more “correct,” I think it makes more sense to look at them independently. A high critic score tells you the movie is well made. A high audience score tells you people had a strong emotional reaction to it. You actually want to know both before deciding if a movie is for you, since a movie can nail one and completely miss the other.

Basically I think the real mistake is putting them on the same 100 point scale at all like they’re the same kind of measurement. They’re not competing, they’re answering different questions entirely.

Curious if people agree with treating them as separate signals instead of rival opinions, or if you still think one holds more weight than the other when it comes to whether a movie is actually good.

I’ve been using IMDb for about the last year, and so far I’ve been using it exclusively out of the apps for rating your media. When I rate a movie or show, I rate it for the acting, directing, writing, storytelling, the premise, etc. it’s very easy to rate those. When I rate a video game it’s a bit different. Do you rate the game for its story mode alone? Red Dead Redemption 2 has a 10/10 story with a barebones multiplayer. Battlefield 6 has excellent multiplayer but a campaign that was rushed and not written very well. Some games don’t have a story mode and are all multiplayer, like Outlast Trials, but it’s a very fun game and the lore documents and seasonal cutscenes add really excellent storytelling. How do you use IMDb to rate games?

Edit: I just got onto Letterboxd and Rotten Tomatoes and it seems like they don’t have video games at all

I don't know what Amazon has done but whenever I try to login my account on desktop, I always get this error message. I don't have any Amazon account and never linked my IMDb's account to Amazon. I had created account using only my email and didn't linked it to any third party.

The funny part is I'm able to login from android app using the same credentials but on desktop they are getting rejected.

Does anyone know why this is happening and what should I do to fix this?

Wanted to ask , it seems IMDb no longer feels relevant when trying to find something to watch and want to check the rating or real reviews about movies, like its filled with bots and kids , nothing reflects real ratings anymore, so what are the alternatives? i remember there was a webstite where you only see the ratings of people you know and your friends so you dont take into account random ratings etc what was that website called?

also example for kids behaviour is see here: a review for an episode that hasn't even been released yet; it still has 2 hours to release, and the review has been up for like 4 hours now before the episode was up. It doesn't reflect the episode if you haven't even watched, so why bother rate it?

I think I just rated a movie on imdb and Im the 1st one to do that.

I have not been able to archive imdb pages on either wayback machine or archive.ph (also known as archive.today or archive.is) for a while now.

-Since 2025, archiving imdb has on and off not worked properly. Usually when I try to archive a page, it saves two pages, one that is just a blank white page and one that says "403 forbidden."

-I haven't been able to archive imdb pages on archive.ph since Aug 6 2026. Whenever I try to save a page, it just loads for a long time then says "Not found (yet?)"

Is this happening to anyone else and anyone know if/when this is gonna be fixed?

Anyone tried contacting wayback machine or archive.ph? I have written to them both and neither responded so far. Also wrote to imdb, 2 days ago they said they are looking into it, and still no response to far.

The mere existence of a character in a thumbnail can be a major spoiler yet IMDb doesn't offer a simple solution like this.

Despite its flaws, I generally find the More Like This feature on a title really useful to see at a glance how I've rated similar films, and one of IMDb's key advantages over Letterboxd. However, I've noticed that recently it filters out films I've marked as watched, which really reduces its usefulness for me. Does anyone know if it's possible to amend this feature? Else this might be the straw that broke the camel's back...

The last few weeks I have notice if I click on an imdb link it sends me to Amazon.com Is this a bug? I am guessing it has to do with the Amazon account migration stuff. Or some kind of tracking.

For me it is causing some annoying consequences,

For example on mobile if I click on a IMDB link on mobile I get a message telling me it is going to open Amazon Shopping App.

Another example (Admittedly a very edge case) I have Firefox containers and I have isolated all Amazon.com links to that container. When I click on an IMDB link it tries to open it up in my Amazon container and and I have to say yes or no. Both options work so it isn't a huge deal but just annoying.

I think the bigger issue is how confusing this is to the end user. Honestly before I dug into it a bit more I thought I had some kind of a virus, as it is very suspicious going to a movie database website would try and redirect me to a shopping website.

Dolly was not only a great singer, but a great actress. She lit up the screen every time she was on it, just like she does on the stage. She is a nominated EGOT and received multiple Golden Globe nominations as well. RIP to one of the most legendary talents of all time.

A ideia é que para dar uma nota, seja necessário escrever uma avaliação, que explique o porque da nota, mas isso de forma obrigatória. Isso por si só já faria os ataques diminuirem pois muitas pessoas não teriam paciência de escrever só pra dar uma nota negativa, mas tem mais.

A Principal coisa seria uma IA que é alimentada com os episódios e filmes, e faça a analise da avaliação que o usuário escreveu, a partir disso ver se aquilo faz sentido, ou se ele só escreveu qualquer coisa pra conseguir dar uma nota baixa. A IA também poderia comparar o que ele escreveu com outros usuários para assim evitar copypastas de textos criticando, então se 2 textos fossem iguais ou com diferenças mínimas, um deles não seria considerado.

Como alternativa também poderia haver um limite mínimo de caracteres para a avaliação, e ai o sistema só deveria checar se há algum tipo de spam por exemplo "AAAAAAAAA" ou "INSOANDNSDJANDKA" apenas para completar o mínimo de caracteres.

Gostaria de saber se minha ideia faz sentido, se fizer, digam também coisas que poderiam complementar, ou melhorias, e se não diga também o porque.
Que isso chegue no MyAnimeList e no IMDB.

I have had IMDB for longer than I can remember. I have alway enjoyed looking at the lits of actors in a show or movie then cross referencing other things they had played in. Now it just list a few and when you click more it comes up blank. Am I doing something wrong or is the whole thing effed uo as a soup sandwich?

Is there a way to change this? The episode doesn't have its own primary image yet; only the series's poster.

I’m creating a personal list on IMDB and ordering them in order of release. I’ve ran into a problem when setting the list in order of release. Instead of setting in order of original release (when it was made) the app has set it in order of release for my country, which has put a 2-year difference for one of the films. This list is specifically about the creation of film, for example, a short film made in 1887 (Man Walking Around the Corner), is now 1889, which messes up my list for historical purposes.
