റാന്റ്/Rant RSS is a necessary evil (hear me out🙏🙏 )

First things first, I don't support RSS or Muslim League or Samastha. Politically I despise them all.

But sometimes, it becomes imperative to think, what would have happened if organisations like RSS never existed. This not trying to whitewash the Sangh Parivar or anything. I always believe that RSS and organisations like jamat are opposite sides of the same coin. But, if we lived in a country with Congress ruling, and fanatics like Jamaat and Muslim League being given a free hand, without anyone to oppose them, imagine how dire our society would have been. It's almost like each of these "shitty" organisation keeps the other in check. The only loosers in such a game are the ordinary citizens too.

Also , it seems, the progressive "malayali" label does not apply to sudus, not yet atleast. So far nobody has dared question , or atleast even express their discontent with Kanthapurams remark. We can say, Kanthapuram is a product of his age, but what about the remaining muslim community? The Muslim League? All this talk of progress, and now it's all crumbling down. Muslims of Kerala have a long way to go, until and unless they start calling out such idiots.

P.S People don't understand, the whole cycle of RSS and SDPI/Jamaati is like a symbiotic relationship. Their mutual existence benefit each other. The fear mongering of RSS in North India led to rise of SDPI in Kerala. The rise and polarisation of SDPI in Kerala led to the rise of RSS/BJP in kerala too. Everytime someone from the Muslim society makes such dumb remark, BJP/RSS gets a new vote.

P.S Ffs I am not supporting RSS. The rise of RSS in kerala is a natural reaction to the poplurisation of Islamic fundamentalism, and vice-versa.

ജനറൽ/General The North Kerala vs South Kerala fights are created by people who have too much time to fight. Let them fight if they want, Keralam is one, and Keralam will always stand together. ❤️

As someone who has lived in North, South and Central Kerala, I can say that no person is inherently good or bad simply because of where they come from. Every region has generous, loving and kind people, as well as arrogant or difficult people.

The old saying, “Thekkanem moorkhanem kandal aadhyam thekkane thallanam,” is one of the most derogatory regional sayings. It basically compares a person from South Kerala to a cobra and says that, if you encounter both, you should beat the South Kerala person first. That’s obviously a deeply prejudiced idea, and I don’t think it reflects reality at all.

I’ve never found South Kerala people to be inherently bad. I’ve met incredibly generous, loving and humane people there, just as I’ve met arrogant people. The same applies to North and Central Kerala. The character of a person varies from person to person, not district to district.

Every place has its own culture, and there will naturally be differences and similarities between regions. Take Ernakulam, Kottayam and Thrissur, for example. The border areas can have a lot of cultural overlap, Ernakulam near Thrissur may share some traditions with Thrissur, while Ernakulam near Kottayam may have similarities with Kottayam. Culture also changes from person to person. It isn’t strictly district specific, in many ways, it is person specific. So broad generalisations don’t really apply.

The same goes for food. Who has a problem if there is pineapple in biriyani? If someone doesn’t like pineapple in biriyani, that’s simply a matter of taste.

Malabar cuisine is amazing, that’s true, but that doesn’t mean food from South or Central Kerala is inferior. There are excellent cooks and incredible food traditions in homes across the whole of Kerala. And there are some really good restaurants there too.

I’ve also heard the stereotype that monjans and monjathis are mainly from Malabar, but I think this reputation may have been created by Malabar people themselves. Beautiful and handsome people are everywhere. I think a lot of this is simply about PR and regional pride.

In Malayalam cinema, there are plenty of handsome actors and beautiful actresses, almost all of whom are from South and Central Kerala. I’m not generalising either way. I’m just pointing out that the stereotype doesn’t really hold up.

People often say that auto chettans in Malabar are especially friendly and helpful. Om Shanthi Oshana even has a dialogue that plays on this idea.

Some people say that auto drivers in South and Central Kerala can be cunning. There may certainly be cunning people in North Kerala too, I don’t deny that at all. And, of course, there are plenty of genuinely good, kind and helpful auto drivers in South and Central Kerala as well.

These are just opinions I’ve heard from different people. There are many but let’s narrow it down to these things for now.

At the end of the day, Kerala has its cultural differences, accents, food preferences, customs, humour and strong regional identities. And honestly, that’s part of what makes Kerala so interesting and beautiful.

Let’s call it Keralam instead of Kerala too. I’ve used “Kerala” in all my previous sentences. Now, let us simply be people from Keralam not to create a divide between people. I know I can’t change anyone’s attitude, but let us be Keralites in Kerala, Indians in India, and human beings who love and respect people all around the world.

But goodness, kindness, beauty and character don’t have a district code. They depend on the individual.

North, Central or South, Keralam is Keralam. ❤️

രാഷ്ട്രീയം/Politics Being an MP from Kerala what has done for her constituency?

Post image

With her being an MP from Wayanad i haven't seen her doing much for her constituency ( i might be ill informed and would like to know what she has done). We criticise other MPs for their lack of presence in the constituency they won from but she seems to be shielded from those criticisms.

Especially with the recent controversy regarding the grant mufti of India, she hasn't uttered a word about this. Especially when she is women MP from kerala 🤷‍♂️ its only couple of days ago her brother talked about smashing the "Patriarchy". Why are our politicians scared to call this out? The ones that reacted only said they have no comments😏.

റാന്റ്/Rant Islamists are gonna completely wreck Kerala. Everything the state championed from its pre-independence head start right up till now is just gonna get reversed single-handedly by these guys in a couple of decades.

And there’s literally nothing stopping them. Even the BJP is totally fine letting them run riot because they want a bogeyman to wave around as an example. Meanwhile, the leftists are just pouring fuel on the fire by coddling them behind the scenes. Run. That’s genuinely the only way out, and smart folks started packing their bags ages ago.

ജനറൽ/General Most of my female Muslim friends went to college and are working professionals, but many of my guy friends dropped out or decided not to pursue higher education!

Upvotes

This is not some islamophobia post, i am 27 and have been brought up in a mixed culture of all the communities across my schooling and college. I've noticed that from school to college my female muslim friends have been very keen to education and getting a job and a majority is now working professional with a better life style than before while the other percentage is house wifes or divorced already. What surpriced me is my guy friends they were just coming to college to for fun (which should also be the point of coming to college) and these guys had a good number of arrears as well. I'm not generalising anything here as I have close friends who have cleared CA and LLB and now practicing professionals. But the ratio here is higher than in female muslims these days that I have noticed. I believe that going to Gulf countries or starting a business can help in financial wellbeing however working in a professional setting with a mixed culture of people including different religion and gender can really help in forming a point of view on things which are to be opposed.
