I never understood why they're so pro-republican. Like, they're predominantly the ones employing migrants workers under the table and encouraging undocumented immigration. Their commodities are some of the least free market commodities there are. They're entirely dependent on socialist things like government subsidies and change their crops to exploit price floors all the time. It's not like democrats make things worse for farmers, both sides are always kissing their asses.

Because conservatives all around the world have managed to concoct an image of themselves where they're the ones fighting for the rural and regional people and farmers and those who live out in the country. It's become a city/metro vs rural/country thing and conservatives have fostered this image of themselves over decades.

Here in Australia, there are some electorates where the nationals (basically a supposed rural party who focuses on farmers and stuff) have been in power basically forever even when they do nothing for the area or actively make it worse. All because "I'll never vote Labor, they only care about city folk" when if you look at actual voting records of politicians, you can quite easily see none of that is remotely true.

Conservatives are good at shaping public perception.

In the US Conservatives recently had a budget that is going to absolutely destroy rural areas. Specifically, less Medicaid funding. It's the only lifeline that barely keeps these areas economically afloat (not to mention their healthcare systems running as a significant % of rural people are on Medicaid).

Elephant in the room, conservatives are only good at shaping public perception because the people they are shaping the narrative too are some of the dumbest people you'll ever meet.

Theres actually quite a bit of research supporting this theory. I think it was about IQ and religious/conservative individuals. They're less analytical don't question things and or struggle with ambiguity.

I dated someone that lived in a rural area and only met her because she had to drive 40min to work. It doesnt sound bad but when that 40min is doing a 60mph min its actually a long drive.

Anyway, she lived in a small town where everyone knew everyone and a manority of them grew up together. Their thought of big city or too many people was the first actual town that wasnt rural. The go out on the farm, come in to their house where the wife/mom makes everyone dinner and then sit around the TV watching old shows or mind numbing shows because they had a long day.

Basically, they are isolated. They didn't realize there are hundreds of millions of people that get affected because they live in a such a small bubble and every day is the same thing to them. They turn on Fox News and hear of some pointental boogeyman as Fox says it will happen to you and they get all up in arms. Things move slow in their world but they are republican because they consume that side of the media and need the boogeyman to care about something/anything. Otherwise they would have to face reality.

Watching Fox News a little bit taught me how stupid Republicans really are. Forget whether you disagree with the programming or not and just watch the network.... it's like a children's show. Everything seems dumbed down and oversimplified. Nobody with a brain could watch Fox even if it transitioned into a truth-telling machine. The programming is simply too childish and transparent.

Pedolf shitler has been turning the system MAGA since he was elected in 2016. And even when Biden won and he lost and threw a tantrum. The system was still being turned MAGA. And now his second term it’s all loyalists, and plants and sycophants with the awareness that during his first term he still had people that saw a line with him and wouldn’t risk prison or ruin. This time he has a MAGA CIA, FBI, NSA, CDC, DOD, DOJ etc. all 3 branches of government are compromised, state MAGA judges, and a chunk of the Supreme Court.

This is fascism. It’s basically a Nazi playbook where Hitler turned the system Nazi so there was no accountability, no opposers and they could do whatever they liked to their enemies.

Not really, least not for farmers. They have gotten a payday every single time they got "screwed" unlike the rest of the country. Just this time, the grifters are just helping the latest donation and not really doing business as usual with farmers. I mean the meat is almost 100% coming from Argentina at the same time the turd found out about the Faulklands.

Thats the funny thing people seem to forget about Trump, doesnt matter if you gave him $1 or $1B, if you arent going to do something for him personally and soon, you might as well not have given anything at all. He goes for the latest donation, the latest market manipulation, anything that will benefit himself NOW. There is a long line of discarded nobgobblers when the money dried or they outlived their short term use.
