That blue-dot farmer is saying what a lot of people don’t want to hear: your vote didn’t just affect your farm. People lost jobs, families watched their grocery bills climb, and Americans struggled to afford basic meals while policies you supported hurt people you may never meet. Just like last time.

Just like every time. It turns out a country needs farmers, so they will always be bailed out.

It's also why the American demands against Canada are so fucking stupid. "Hey, stop your protectionist agriculture regulations and let American agri flood your market with cheap product to where it's impossible for your domestic producers to compete. Once they're all out of business, we promise we won't just turn off the food tap. :)"

More likely: "once we kill your domestic agriculture industry we promise (wink) we won't dramatically raise prices on you now that we have a monopoly."

Turns out they need people in the fields to harvest the crops too. Why not pay them a decent wage ? Don't think the farmer will get much done all by themselves.

Oh, absolutely. I consider farmhands to be 'farmers' just as much as the guy that runs the business portion of it. I just meant the business itself will rarely be allowed to fail because the whole apparatus is needed.

Definitely true we need farms to feed people and workers to harvest crops. Given the crazy profits I've personally witnessed them make. Seems like there should be a way the "field hands" could make a livable wage. They live in rural areas. So it's cheaper to live. Not a lot but livable. I did it for decades. It was honest work. But it leads to an early death. Average lifespan of a field worker is 49yrs old in America. As I said before I did it for decades. My back and every joint in my body is completely destroyed. Cancer as well. 24/7 pain. To the point I can only sleep a couple hrs at a time. Can't sit or stand for more than 20-30 minutes either. Back when I did it it was almost all Americans doing that work on the east coast. Almost exclusively black back then. I was the only white dude bent over in the field reflecting the sun. 😂

We don't though. We don't need farmers, we just need farms. The sooner farmers realize that, the better off we all are. I'm afraid they won't and will cry when they have to sell off their land to acre trader for a fraction of the value.
