The oh-woe-is-me farmers are completely out of pocket

The video attached, by #BlackbirdCoop aka FarmingWhileBiege breaks down the side of the farming industry that they don't want you to know. While there may be some mom and pop farmers, who are struggling, those farmers are few and far between.

With the drought here in Colorado we’re being told don’t water your lawn, rivers and lakes are so low there’s emergency fish salvages everywhere, swimming pools are closing, and yet 80-90% of the states water goes to agriculture—alfalfa farms to feed cattle for beef ranchers.Subsidized of course.

NGL, the whole "lawn" obsession in America, if we truly have water shortages, I'd be happy to see go.

Like, growing green stuff like trees and the like is good and all, but the amount of resources put into lawns by Americans, as well as various weed killers and other stuff, is just a crazy unnecessary amount. Same goes for the energy put into Christmas lights, that are going to get super expensive with Data centers pulling away all the energy for free.

Both those things are just so taken for granted as normal and good, but done on a massive scale like in America are actually extremely wasteful and unhealthy, so I'd be fine seeing both die.

Just would really prefer it wasn't to prop up an AI industry for free, and because it was the the right thing to do.

I just got a home in FL, and the HOA has rules about keeping your lawn green, that shit is so stupid. Phase III drought regulations are in effect, but you may get a fine if the grass starts turning brown!

(P.S. Not a MAGAt nor Conservative, proud DemSoc that just happens to live in Trumperville, MAGApotamia, U.S.)
