Hello Lexington!

Meet rigatoni, a stray cat who has decided to take up residency in our backyard.

We would love to bring him inside but Mr Meatball is very territorial and dislikes other cats.

We are planning on getting him into the vet soon to get him fixed but we are looking for a good home for him.

AI restaurant mailers

Im not gonna name the buisness for the sake of not being mean and or embarrassing them, but if you have enough money to start a buisness, you have enough money to pay someone to make your flyers and mailers.

I opened my mailbox yesterday and recieved a mailer for a restaurant that im assuming just opened in the area. Immedietly upon looking at it, I could tell that both the logo and images of the food were completely AI. They even had the audacity to put "support local buisness" at that bottom. AI in advertising shows a lack of confidence in both the buisness itself and the product youre selling. Nothing says appetizing like plastic playschool-looking food and a crappy logo that could have easily been made on canva. Maybe you should've supported local artists.

Lost small collie near Hartland Parkway Kroger

Upvotes

If you lost your little brown and white collie near the Hartland Parkway Kroger, my bf and I and a couple people from the yoga studio managed to catch her. I think one of the women from the yoga studio's got her and is gonna take her to the humane society or get scanned for a chip tomorrow, so pup is safe

Found at 7am next to the chase bank on Alexandria drive. He was wearing a blue harness and a flea collar. Seems to be about 5 or 6 years old, a boston terrier mix, male and not neutered. Relatively calm and wasn’t scared of humans. We dropped him off at the Lexington humane society at 1600 Old Frankfort Pike. If you recognize him, you can find him there. Please help find his owner 💔

2026 Council Ag Day

The 2026 Urban County Council Ag Day is in the books!

Starting this morning alongside the Mayor, Council Members and their staff got an up-close look at the vital work being done at FoodChain via their first-in-Kentucky fully aquaponic growing methods. The fresh produce grown in the heart of Lexington's urban core goes on to support a number of local restaurants as well as their small on-site grocery store.

Next, Council was invited to tour Clark Family Farm to learn more about their grass-finished cattle operation. There they discussed the economic conditions facing local herds and the network of suppliers, producers and processors in Central Kentucky.

They ended the day at the Kentucky Horse Park, meeting famous retired thoroughbreds and members of the largest mounted police unit in Kentucky. Council discussed the global draw of this facility and its impact on the horse industry.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed the Council and shared their expertise and experiences!

Donut Dungeon?

Hey there! I am wondering if donut dungeon is still going? I remember hearing it was a sober space for those who enjoy metal and I think that’s something I really need right now. And would it be a safe space for a little lady?

If it’s not up and going, is there an alternative?

Thanks in advance 🖤

Best Dive Bars in Lex? (not overran by college crowd)

Upvotes

It feels like all of the “dive” bars in Lexington either: 1) are too packed because of the college crowd, or 2) don’t have the traditional dive bar staples (i.e., darts, pool table, dingy wooden interior, cheap drafts, etc.)

Are there any off the beaten path spots to look out for?

Scarefest Weekend 2026

Upvotes

So this will be my first time at this con because the lineup is insane, but I'm seeing some poor reviews of previous years. What are everyone's thoughts? Is this going to be worth it or a total cluster?

Santa Trains?

What Santa trains are best? We went to New Haven for the Thomas experience (it was cute) and saw they do Santa trains and a brunch experience! Has anyone done it? I saw Bluegrass Railroad does a Santa train in Versailles…any thoughts on that? I see Bardstown Dinner train has one, but my kids are 3.5 and 1.5 and won’t sit for a nice meal yet (when they are older it’s on my list)! I also didn’t know if Louisville, Cincy, had anything worth driving for? Or I saw Stearns, KY has a Polar Express branded one? I think that might be a big far, but just curious if I’m missing any and what reviews/thoughts people have?

I need to get my life together… Financial Advisor Recommendations or something?!?!

Soooo basically I have no budget, haven’t done my taxes in god knows how long. I make money doing both hourly and side gigs, but don’t know truly how much I make. I just hope and pray everyday.

I would like to change that, I don’t want to hide from the government anymore. I need to pay my taxes- most likely. But I’m not sure how or where to go since they are so late. I’ve tried contacting a few places but have been ghosted or honest their messages got lost in my junk mail.

I would also like to start saving money to buy a house some day.. or to be able to just save. I have a Roth IRA somewhere with an employer, I just don’t know what any of this $h!t means.

I’m also broke as hell and under 25 if that matters :)

Public outdoor pools open this week by noon?

I was wondering if there were any outdoor pools I could swim at around Lexington this week before I leave for work by 2:45. It would seem most pools are closed for the season. Shilito doesn’t open until 3 or 4, which is too late for me. Any suggestions are appreciated!

What can I take? Do I have to bring things, if I want to take things home?

You can just take what you need, whether you brought anything or not. You don't have to swap or trade things.

¿Qué puedo llevarme? ¿Tengo que traer algo si quiero llevarme cosas a casa?

Puedes llevarte lo que necesites, no importa si trajiste algo o no. No es necesario intercambiar o hacer trueques.

What can I bring? How does it work?

If you want to, you can bring 1 or 2 trash bags (or equivalent) of clean, gently used items. When you arrive, we will quickly sort the things you brought and put them out on display tables for shopping.

If no one wants my stuff, what happens to it?

You are welcome to take it back home if you like, or we will take it to Goodwill.

Si a nadie le interesa lo que traigo, ¿qué pasa con eso?

Puedes llevártelo de vuelta a casa si lo prefieres, o nosotros lo llevaremos a Goodwill.

Can I bring my kids with me?

Absolutely.

¿Puedo traer a mis hijos conmigo?

¡Absolutamente!
