7

u/Mechakoopa Mar 02 '26

That might actually just be a donkey

3

u/Mr-FurleyX1 Mar 02 '26

Was actually bit in the ass by a horse known for biting people in the ass. Turned my back for a second… Still the most amazing animals though

🤣🤣🤣

1

u/K-Oz_Kitty Mar 03 '26

The dog had it coming šŸŽ

1

u/tonkatoyelroy Mar 02 '26

Mister, would you please help my pony?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '26

There's no such thing as poor people that owns a pony, those are expensive.

2

u/Jaded_Vegetable3273 Mar 03 '26

It exists. Horse keeping doesn’t have to be expensive (certainly not as much as certain influencers want people to think) and I have met quite a few people barely scraping by that had a horse. Most horse people are just your average joes.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

Doesn't change the fact that poor people don't own ponies or horses, poor people can barely afford a place to live or food, if they can afford horses or land to have them on, they are not poor, so yeah, poor people don't own horses or ponies.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

You must live on a different reality, and you think poor people ca afford ponies or horses just supports my statement. You don't know shit about the struggle my dude.

1

u/Jaded_Vegetable3273 Mar 04 '26

Sigh. Sure. Whatever. I’m rich off my ass and there totally aren’t horse people from a variety of economic classes and backgrounds. Happy now?

0

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

Rich, what are you talking, we talking about poor people, not rich, or middle class, all you do is show how ignorant you are 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Caucasians.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

Most of the average joes that you know that have horses and ponies are not poor.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

The average joes live on apartments. Not on a farm where theres horses.

1

u/Jaded_Vegetable3273 Mar 04 '26

Do you know how many people board horses? Yes, apartment-dwellers can have horses too lol.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '26

Do you know how ignorant you are 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Jaded_Vegetable3273 Mar 08 '26

Are you done yet lmao? You just look like a clown with all these comments and insults…

1

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '26

Is not about apartment owners dumb ass. Do you even think before speaking or you just love to sound ignorant af. Apartments dwellcan have horses too 🤣🤣🤣🤣 what ddoes tgat have to do with the fact that poor people, that can't even afford to eat. Lol how stupid are you.

1

u/Jaded_Vegetable3273 Mar 08 '26

Bruh, I literally just answered your question 🤣 you’re calling yourself dumb at this point. Stop jumping everywhere. I myself have lived in apartments and owned horses. Yes, it’s very common.

1

u/Fruitcake6969 Mar 02 '26

Then you should eat your pony

1

u/Jaded_Vegetable3273 Mar 03 '26

She’s fat right now, she’s be good eatin’ šŸ˜‚

1

u/Fruitcake6969 Mar 03 '26

But how can you be poor and own a pony in America? Unless you live somewhere underdeveloped i feel like this is really rare. I can’t afford a pony.

2

u/Jaded_Vegetable3273 Mar 03 '26

I’ve met quite a few people that were even on fixed incomes. I don’t exactly consider that to be a sound financial situation, but a lot of times their horse was what kept these people living. Lots of budgeting. They generally find cheap board (pasture, self-care) and will work or barter off the amount instead. They will barter for hay too. Vet bills often went on a credit card that they slowly paid off. The youngsters will become a ā€˜working student’ for a trainer in order to afford lessons, board, or extra riding privileges on barn horses.

Most people aren’t usually that broke, but they aren’t well to do either. Like I said, average joes. They just budget or get a second job, or spend their extra ā€˜hobby’ money on a horse instead of things most people would spend it on. When my husband was in the military (enlisted) we had other military people ask us how we afforded horses. They were often spending the same amount, or more, on car payments!

I will say that, personally, I have found my dogs’ general vet bills (vaccines, dentals, etc.) to be more expensive than my horse’s. Similar to how people can spend a lot or a little on their dog, people can spend a lot or a little on a horse.

Edit- I will say, if you are in certain HCOL areas, the expenses can go up drastically.

2

u/Fruitcake6969 Mar 03 '26

Thanks for your response. Despite my earlier jokes it’s my dream to own a horse.

2

u/Jaded_Vegetable3273 Mar 03 '26

No problem! I’ve noticed that between social media influencers and those weird ā€˜my sport is more expensive than yours’ competitions, the general population now thinks that horse ownership is unattainable except for the elite. Which is really sad, considering how many lesson barn are seeing fewer and fewer students coming in.

If you do seriously want to try horses, I can give you some tips to help you get started? Horses come with a pretty steep learning curve, so it’s strongly recommended to take lessons at a good barn for a while before buying, which also takes off the pressure of commitment and responsibility. There are also people that enjoy horses but have no interest in riding or driving and that’s ok too. :)

when I was a kid my pony learned to rub against barbed wire fences while people were riding him to get them off... ponies are dicks.

2

u/Jaded_Vegetable3273 Mar 03 '26

lol! Well they certainly aren’t dumb!

1

u/hamfist_ofthenorth Mar 03 '26

Sounds like your pony just didn't like you guys

1

u/InformedTriangle Mar 03 '26

He just didn't like being ridden lol. Very friendly guy until someone tried to ride him then he'd just slowly amble to the nearest fence. I don't really blame him in hindsight

1

u/We3HappyPeople Mar 03 '26

I call mine Goddammit

1

u/Yondriel Mar 03 '26

Only my mother is allowed to use my special name carl

1

u/Upstairs-Challenge92 Mar 03 '26

I’m too poor to be poor from owning an equine

12

u/EmoMillenial1 Mar 02 '26

There are horse people in my family and they love it but they got debt lol

5

u/forgot_previous_acc Mar 02 '26

I'm too poor to be loved

3

u/GGuts Mar 02 '26

Don't say it like that

6

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 Mar 02 '26

Nah they love people, all genders, they're like elephants

If you're poor you can work on a farm and meet one or Google where horse rides are near you, it's not like a poor poor thing but it's like $40 if you can make it there.

4

u/iHateThisPlaceSoBad Mar 02 '26

Horse girls are fuckin crazy anyway

7

u/Moon_Pye Mar 02 '26

Yes they are but sometimes in the best way.

Source: I have a friend who is seriously into horses, and while she's definitely weird, it's the good kind of weird and I love her.

1

u/vintage_cycles Mar 02 '26

Move to Eastern Europe, we still have horses in God forgotten villages here. Life may not be fancy or too romantic, but you can get your horse love.

1

u/adsj Mar 02 '26

Same. But watching this video makes me think that horse people cry all the time.

1

u/Odd_Restaurant_8343 Mar 02 '26

No you are not poor, when your dreams come true, then you'll be loved ā¤ļø

1

u/Tommy8505 Mar 02 '26

I think the Mongolians were on to something

1

u/Mamaofoneson Mar 02 '26

I’m too poor and allergic :(

1

u/darkendofall Mar 02 '26

See if you've got a place nearby you can volunteer at. That's how I got to pet horses regularly.

1

u/Mindless-Scientist82 Mar 02 '26

I think we should start buying horses again instead of cars.

1

u/smolpeensadboy Mar 02 '26

Despite the internet ridicule of "horse girl" I'd be one in a second if I were stable and horses rich. The misogynists would stay away and I'd live happily ever after.

1

u/EverythingSucksYo Mar 02 '26

Maybe I’m a jerk but when the clip of ā€œhe literally wipes my tearsā€ came up I just thought to myself ā€œwell yeah, he probably likes the salty tasteā€

1

u/Beneficial_City_9715 Mar 02 '26

I spend more on my dog then my friend spends on his horse. Lol. They are just big dogs.

1

u/mothmans_favoriteex Mar 02 '26

LOL my dad always rescued horses an rehomed them, and even that was so expensive 😭 he eventually had to give it up as a hobby bc we just couldn’t afford it but I know he misses them so much. They adored him

1

u/bguzewicz Mar 02 '26

Red Dead 2 is the next best option. Probably.

1

u/boylent_milk Mar 02 '26

Can't even afford a ponyšŸ˜”

1

u/Waggmans Mar 02 '26

I'm too poor to be loved by a woman who's loved by a horse.

1

u/Original-Ad-7119 Mar 03 '26

I was thinking the exact same thing while watching the video and then came to the comments to see this šŸ˜‚

1

u/libbieonthelabel Mar 03 '26

You could volunteer at a therapy stable if you live near any. The stable my daughter rides at is a nonprofit and is always seeking volunteers. It’s a great opportunity to learn about and gain exposure to horses.

1

u/raychilli Mar 03 '26

I’m so poor I have had other pets that are just as loving, a dog and a cat.

1

u/EpilepticSquidly Mar 03 '26

I got a couple friends that are poor because they are loved by horses
