He’s part of the reason I was always obsessed with nature, him and Steve Irwin gave us the best sides of humanity and love for all living things

super happy he was a reason you become a science teacher, the next generations going to learn LOTS from you ✨

Then why do you diminish him here so much?

Given the countless documentaries he has made about evolution, I am pretty sure he doesn't want anybody to believe creational nonsense and rather know the truth.

You either believe in science or "that god created stuff animals", both doesn't really work.

You do know that you can talk about gods without believing in them right? The same way you can talk about fiction without believing it happened.

I don't understand your point.

I can talk about flat earthers too, they're idiots. What does that have to do with making factually wrong statements like "God created animals".

You either know about evolution and reevaluate your belief in creation or you don't. But you can't believe in science and then state creationist nonsense.

I love Attenborough, we can honour him much more by sticking to the facts.

Its the same as saying "zeus is angry" when lightning strikes, they dont actually believe that (hell if op was as christian as you are atheist, they wouldnt post this, because it contradicts their idea of a god). Its a joke.

False dichotomy fallacy. The assumption that science and the idea of a creator are inherently incompatible is simply false and ignores the logical possibility that a creator could simply have designed a universe governed by fixed, discoverable rules.

The old "God was the architect and evolution was the dodgy builder they hired"

It's cute, but it requires at minimum a God apathetic to suffering, so, you won't catch me worshipping them.

Only if you want to accept the idea of a creator that is at best indifferent to children suffering and at worst malicious in that said creator enjoys them suffering. Don't try and throw the word "logic" around to give undue credit to your nonsense ideas.

Your god must be really small by now then, if he is only responsible for the stuff we cannot explain as our knowledge of the universe is expanding daily.

Attenborough also didn't make documentaries about quantum mechanics, spacetime and the basic forces etc, which would be "what god created" according to your definition.

There never was any agenda involved in the evolution of the billions of species on this planet.

I don’t believe in a god and my comment was simply pointing out your either/or logical fallacy.

And I just meant the god you described.

Your critisism is technically correct, but doesn't make sense here, does it? You're just nitpicking imo. I edited my original comment anyway.

Your stance is a dogmatic extreme of scientism. It reeks of the conflict thesis, which is rejected by most modern historians of science. You’re simply making the same error the “god of the gaps” crowd are making just in reverse. They call what science can’t (yet) explain a miracle, and you claim anything that can be explained a proof against a creator. In reality, there is no logical reason why these have to be mutually exclusive. A creator could simply be the author of the very laws we are discovering in our universe.

People who don't believe in a god don't use the word "scientism"

A creator could simply be the author of the very laws we are discovering in our universe.

I am not denying that, it's exactly what I said previously. That still makes the statement "God created animals" factually wrong, because the fundamental rules of our universe don't account for that.
