I thought this was apropos.

Growing up, my dad had one specific chair. Nobody called it his. Everybody knew.

After work, he'd sit there. Sometimes watching Jimmy Kimmel Live against skg thing, sometimes playing Switch, Sometimes just sitting there scrolling the phone.

I didn't get it when I was a kid. Now — after my own long days — I get it. You don't always need to decompress. Sometimes you just need to stop.

Anyone else grow up with a parent who had a spot that was basically theirs by default?

Long story short, my cave flooded thanks to one of my cats turning on a bathroom sink. We took the opportunity to properly insulate and drywall our old basement walls and refinish the floors. My wife hand painted everything and also installed all the cabinets and counter. I’m obsessed with my new football watching cave.

Mixed up an industrial green and got a couple coats on.

I grew up with a bar in my basement. I remember always seeing my dad being behind his bar entertaining. We also watched pro wrestling ppvs in the basement during the attitude era. In my new home I was finally able to display my collection and create my dream basement bar: The Double Turn!

Need some advice on what to do with this space.
I’m planning on putting a mini fridge between the cabinets, but I’ll still have this open area in front of them.

Would you put a pub table here with a TV on the gray wall, or turn it into a sitting area with a couple lounge chairs and a coffee table?

Open to other ideas too.

Ignore the plant, it’s getting moved

I started looking at all my stuff and decided to keep it a mancave here are pictures of the inside tv is across couch it’s a 50 inch, thinking of saving for flooring and wall paneling it’s just painted osb right now

Are any of you folks running touchscreen jukebox setups? What monitors are you using? My current setup works great, but my monitor is getting dated (large bezels).

I just seen a Touchscreen Jukebox. It is nice. Here is mine in action. it is just an old computer running Vista and some program I found. I have it setup on an old stereo stand that is embellished with some LEDs. I need to upgrade.

how realistic and hard would this be to do in a 10x20 mancave? Would it cost allot? have a sceptic I can use.

Been slowly putting my mancave together over the last few months. Nothing fancy, just stuff I actually like having around.

Right now I've got:

PS5 for most of my gaming.

An old Sega Dreamcast I found at a flea market. Still works somehow lol. Probably my favorite thing in the room.

65" Hisense TV I bought maybe 2/3 months ago. Mostly gets used for games, sports and late-night movies.

IKEA KIVIK couch. Big enough to pass out on after saying "one more game."

Small Insignia mini fridge next to it for drinks.

Also found a couple old Nintendo Power magazines on eBay that I’m planning to frame once I stop being lazy about the walls.

Still feels like something is missing though.

What's the one thing in your mancave/game room you'd consider a must-have?
