Just want to share that at my local bike park there is a pretty big 6 feet+ high whale tail that split into 2 kickers around a tree. One small, one huge with a deep gap and steep landing. I've been eyeballing the big one since this thing was built late last summer. Well, today I went fuck it and sent it! Was the most air time I've ever had and proceeded to do it 4 more times!

Hey all, long-time lurker, first time poster here!

I got sick of the usual garage bike storage problem, wide handlebars mean either your bikes are miles apart to avoid tangling, or they're close together and you can't get one out without knocking everything over.

So I designed a wall bracket that holds each bike independently. You still need to pop the front wheel off to mount it (no way around that unfortunately), but once it's up, you can pack bikes in tight and grab any single one without touching the others. Also works at any height, and the weight rests on the floor rather than pulling on the wall, so it holds heavier bikes fine, e-bikes included.

Been developing this for a while (also filed a UK registered design on it) and it just went live on Amazon. Not trying to hard-sell it here, just wanted to share since this sub's probably the best place to get feedback from people who actually deal with this problem. I have a Pivot Firebird and currently own both wheelsets, the original Reynolds Blacklabel carbon wheels with Factory9 hubs and the DT Swiss HX 1501 aluminum wheels are currently the "spare" set.

I'm considering using different tires on both sets, one tu use as a pure gravity wheelset for the chairlift days and having faster rolling tires on the second set for the days where I'll be pedaling up the mountain (all-mountain / enduro use).

I currently have dual Assegai on the carbon wheels and the spare set doesn't get much use. I like the Assegai as it has almost unlimited grip but it's a slow rolling tire, almost feels like I have a flat rear tire vs the Dissector on my old trail bike lol

I was thinking about keeping Assegai fr/rr and getting a pair of DHF/Dissector2 for "all mountain" use (different suggestions are welcome).

My main questions is this: which wheels should I choose for "all mountain" use and which for chairlift days? I think the carbon wheels are stronger than my aluminum wheels and would be a good choice for DH use, but they are also lighter which would be nice when climbing up the mountain... which would you choose for each application and why?

So after cycling for some years on gravel and road bikes.

I encountered more and more paths where i hit my limit whit my gravel where i thought a mtb would be kinda nice here, paved roads downhill where water formed rough splits, fist sized rocks on the road or just off road over grass or the forest.

I intend to ride mainly in the bavarian and austrian alps, up and downhill.

I dont think i ever go to a bikepark but i dont wanna block that option by getting the wrong bike so it would be nice if i could ride most trails whit it in theory if my skill is good enought.

Long tours or bikepacking are also an option im open to take, since i like that very much on my gravel.

So what kind i need for this ?

I have an older Salsa Spearfish from a good friend of mine. The bike is pretty old and a good bike but did want to explore newer options that may fit better for me. I'm older, but ride pretty regularly now. I'm in decent shape (for my age - 50) but stick to mainly greens and blues. I live on the Front Range in Colorado so rocky trails and chunky trails are a given. I do love the technical trails but given my skill and age I don't see myself ever going super aggressive. That being said I do ride the technical blues whenever I can. On the flip side, as a lot of trails are closer to my house are gravel and tamer I don't necessarily to hamstring myself on these as a spend a good deal of time on them. I'm looking for a bike that is more middle of road and can do both but is okay on the harder blues when I do them. Any suggestions / questions are welcome. Hopefully this is enough context!

Does anyone ride the Reazon? I have a 2023 Norco Fluid with some custom tuning, with 141mm rear travel and playing around with 150/160 front travel. The Norco is a fun bike, but I like the idea of the option of the MX wheels and that the MX link can run 29er as well and make the geo a bit different.

I like steel. I dont ride carbon frames, I have in the past but but my cup of tea anymore. I like metal frames with carbon wheels and bars.

If anyone rides one, please let me know your thoughts.

Hi all, new to mountain biking and just got my first bike. Trying to figure out the best mounting solution for my truck bed. I have a folding cover for my bed but when folded it still has a section that takes a bit of space up (see pic). My wife’s truck has a hitch mount but I’m tired of switching it between our two trucks.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Went out because the weather yesterday was amazing! Made it to the spot where I used to rip my RZR different on a bike.

Anybody know about these people? What's the verdict on quality and functionality?

I purchased this Kona El Kahuna XL In early June and have been loving it. I ride it daily to work and back along with local trails frequently.

Last Tuesday, on my commute, my front rim completely collapsed and folded over on itself. I am relatively unharmed (luckily) and I have already started a warranty claim. My local bike shop told me they have noticed a decline in WTB hardware, wheels specifically, since 2022 but this is the first catastrophic failure they had seen. Looking closely, it appears to have been a clean break at the seam.

I won't be putting WTB rims back on my bike. Period. I already struggle to stay upright on my own, I don't need help from my equipment.

Something to consider.

Spent a few days at Kouty bike park, in the Jeseníky mountains in Czechia, at the end of August before the season wrapped up. It's the biggest bike park in Moravia (eastern part of the country), reachable by train too, which is why I ended up there.

Rode Uhlířská, the blue trail, figured it'd be a chill warm-up lap since I mostly ride natural trail networks back home. Turned out steeper and rougher than I expected for a blue, especially toward the end of the season, though a few sections had clearly been rebuilt recently and rode great.

Random bit I didn't know going in, the trail's named after the local charcoal burners (uhlíř), part of the route actually follows the old path they used to walk through the woods.

Curious if this tracks with other people's experience riding it, or if I just picked a rough day out there.

So I have an 8 speed drive train or idk what it's called, it's my first time owning a bike. Anyways, I bought a used bike and other than the fact that the chain keeps falling, the tension pulley on the rd keeps splitting widely making the chain loose, maybe I need to replace it? What rd should I get? My largest cog is 38t and my current rd doesn't reach the last two largest cogs. It's a 7 speed rd on an 8 speed cassette, which the seller lied to me about. I was too naive to question it. The issue is, every few meters the chain suddenly locks then it falls, the rd keeps jamming for some reason, and there's this weird continuous squeak on my pedals or seatpost.

I’m looking for an enduro. I want to realistically be under $1600. If you guys have any recommendations of what I should be on the lookout for and even places to look any help is appreciated.

I am still undecided for the most part on returning the Salsa Timberjack SLX I bought a couple weeks ago at REI. I was looking around mkt place and saw this yesterday. Any thought about this?

My son has a blur that has treated him well for XC riding near us. Recently he broke the grease axle in the suspension. I contacted SC and they only keep parts on hand for 10 years. Suggested reaching out to local bike shop that sells SC, and there are only two in my area. No dice. Anyone know where I might be able to get the grease axle and screws? Need parts 8 (2) 12 (1) and 11 (2). The quantities are in (). Thanks for any suggestions.
