Laufey is one of my favorite characters in God of War precisely because of the mystery of knowing exactly what she was like, and how that doesn't stop her from being one of the main figures responsible for the Norse saga.

To see how much Kratos and Atreus loved her and learned from her, and then discover along with them that she was not just a woman who loved her family, but a warrior, a giant, and someone who guided them on their journey in ways they couldn't even comprehend, not only shocked the internet at the time, but also made her the subject of much speculation.

Did she truly love Kratos? Was she merely following a prophecy? Was Kratos controlled again? Did she truly love her family? There were many questions and no answers, and for me, that's was her charm.

She was a genuinely complex character, and the mystery added to that. I'll love her game when it comes out, but I'll definitely be sad that some of the mystery will disappear.
