Politics Beware petition scammers.
I was just approached by a petitioner asking me to sign a petition for "affordable housing." Very little info on the sheet but what was there made clear that this was a petition about the fairgrounds speedway. However you feel about racing at the fairgrounds, petitioners should not be misrepresenting what they are asking you to sign.

Help | Advice ISO community: migraines & barometric pressure sickness
Hi all, I’ve lived in Nashville for 8 years now and have started experiencing significant discomfort with barometric pressure shifts greater than .10 just over the last year. I’ve done everything I can think of to help myself: I have a neurologist, am medicated for migraine disease, use the WeatherX app to alert me of upcoming pressure changes, and have found moderate success by using WeatherX earplugs. What I’m missing, however, is community. 🫂
Is anyone else here in the same boat who would like to connect to commiserate? Any suggestions or advice on how you navigate the harder days when the weather here just won’t settle? I’d really appreciate any comments to know I’m not alone. Thanks in advance. ❤️

Help | Advice Bakeries with Low/No Sugar Options
This may be a lost cause, but I am looking for a bakery or cake maker that can do a low/no sugar birthday cake. My mom is Type 1 diabetic and can’t eat much sugar, but we wanted to do some sort of dessert for her 70th birthday. I’ve already called Dozen and Baked on 8th, but they didn’t really have options for this. If anyone knows a place in Nashville that does this, I would greatly appreciate the recommendations.
PS - we used to get her no sugar angel food cake from the grocery store for her birthday back in the day so this is my back up option. Just seeing if I can find something a little nicer since it is her 70th birthday.

Pets Possible Lost Cat Sausage Sighted
I don't know if this will be helpful or not, but I figured, might help, can't hurt, might as well.
I was walking and I saw this cat: Picture of Sausage
It was about 4:35, very close to the corner of Fairfax and Convent Place.
I took the picture before I got too close in case the cat ran off, which it did.
If Sausage is yours, I hope he/she makes it home ok.

Help | Advice Are there any cosplay communities or creative places.
I was hoping I can learn skills and have a workshop to make things for cosplay gear. I have been looking and i find it crazy the much less populated place I was living before had a club for cosplay and things and nashville does not.
I know "make nashville" is there but no one is helpful there and the orientation is once every blue moon.
I know i am not the only person asking too I just have not seen anything else out there. Where should I look? Please help!

Two tickets for Caamp at the Ryman listed for $1.2 million each, wtf was someone having a seizure?
Cheapest Caamp tix in Nashville is $400+, cheapest in Chattanooga is $64. The other night Jack Johnson at Ascend was over $300 next tour stop was $33. This city is unlivable

Help | Advice Nashville people, what does a realistic walk in shower project actually involve?
Helping my mom look into replacing an old tub/shower and wow there is a LOT of info out there. Some websites make a walk in shower sound like a super easy weekend project and others make it sound like the bathroom needs to be completely gutted.
Surely the reality is somewhere in the middle lol.
The goal is pretty simple. Easier entry, a place to sit if she needs it, sensible grab bars and something that doesn't turn the bathroom into a construction zone for weeks.
I'm comparing walk in shower installation options around Nashville and mostly trying to figure out what actually matters when getting quotes.
What would you ask a contractor before signing anything? Anything that ended up being a bigger deal than expected?

Donations | Social Services Clothing donation - want to get it to actual people for cheap or free
I have a big pile of men's clothes I need to donate. A lot of it is shirts and sweaters and a few athletic tops and pants. It's not high fashion but it's fairly nice and most importantly, there are some great warm items I'd like to get in peoples' hands soon as winter will be here before we know it. Would like to avoid Goodwill as they would probably put a stiff markup on some of this stuff and I'd prefer it be either cheap or free. Any orgs in town that would take this stuff and make sure people that need it actually get it?

Help | Advice Anyone actually found affordable gym space to rent by the hour in Nashville?
Been training clients out of my garage for a while and it works fine, but I'm starting to lose a few people who want a more polished setup. Looking into renting commercial gym space by the hour instead of signing a full lease somewhere, which feels like too much overhead for where I'm at right now
The places I've found so far are either way overpriced, in weird locations, or they make you commit to a monthly block of hours whether you use them or not. There's got to be something in between
Curious if anyone has actually made this work here, whether that's a gym that subleases space or a studio with offpeak availability. East Nashville or Midtown would be ideal but I'm not locked into that.
Also wondering if anyone has gone the private home gym route and rented their setup out. I've seen that model work in other cities and Nashville feels like the kind of place it could catch on, assuming zoning doesn't kill it first.
Not trying to have the full brick and mortar conversation yet. Just looking for a sensible middle step before I commit to a lease.
