City Councilors approving Flock cameras without the concent of the governed should be held liable under the Civil Rights Act of 1871.

They are two or more persons conspiring to deprive citizens of their 4th amendment rights with no equal protection or right to face the accusers.

If Flock is listing us on their ping list for police departments, they are inherently the one pointing fault and guilt and should therefore be called into court as a witness for every offense they allege. We The People have the right to face our accusers.

"If such dragnet-type law enforcement practices as respondent envisions should eventually occur, there will be time enough then to determine whether different constitutional principles may be applicable." US V Knotts. This is stated directly after the same sentence everyone quotes to say you have no expectations of privacy in public.

We already have legal precedent to have them removed for the blatant breach and disregard for the constitution of these united states and the 4th, 5th and 6th amendment.

The 4th, for unlawfully and continously searching a mass surveillance database looking for precursors to use to allege a crime without prior or substantial verification a crime even occurred.

The 5th, for denying due process prior to the removal of "life, liberty or property". Flock cameras track every aspect of your life. From where you go, to what headphones you use, to your fitbit, to what type of porn you watch. (https://www.leonardocompany-us.com/lpr) all of this technology was installed, pushed and paid for without the fully informed concent of the governed.

The 6th, for denying your right to face your accusers. Police pull you over SPECIFICALLY because of a Flock ping. And then are told directly to not mention Flock. Flock alerting police DIRECTLY makes them the accusers of an alleged crime. If I rob your nan, and you call the cops - you have to go to court so I can question you because you accused me. Why doesn't Flock?

I want to know the EXACT Councilors that voted for Flock to be placed in our community, and I want to see them tried under 42 U.S.C. §1983, stripped of their title, and shunned from the community.

Might be a stupid question. Oregonian and life long camper here. I’ve never carried a fire arm or anything outside of typical camping tools.

Recently had friend talk about how they carry when camping and that they’ve been thankful to have it here (animals).

I now have a small daughter that I’m going to take out. Do you all think it’s really necessary for protection? Maybe bear mace?

We were worried when we first put our paddleboards in at Estacada Lake this morning — the smoke was thick! Then the wind picked up and it was clear and we were met with several first time bird sightings! In addition to the ones our Merlin app picked up (Brown Creeper, Western Wood-Pewee, Chestnut-backed Chickadees, and Red-Breasted Nuthatch) we saw several Ospreys, Belted Kingfishers, Great Blue Herons, Red-Tailed Hawks, Turkey Vultures, and Common Merganser, among others. Some I was able to capture with an absurd zoom on my iPhone. Enjoy! 🦆

Evokes the Labor Day fires in 2020. Except this is from eastern oregon fires. Notice how the degraded air quality is on either side of the canyon and down to Eugene. There should be more public health action on these events IMO because this level of air quality is damgerous. That’s a rural area with few sensors.

Right now there’s onshore wind from the west protecting Portland and the west valley at the same time as offshore winds are pushing smoke from the east. Hopefully the onshore winds will prevail soon.

I've been getting out to a few different fairs around the area and the amount of Ai Slop out there feels out of control. Almost every banner is bad AI, from food vendors to rides. I went to a commemortive America 250 perfomance with dancers and circus performers which looked pretty good on the flyer. However, between every act was a grating Ai voice over and montage of American revolution Ai slop footage. I mostly had a good time, but it was not without a wierd feeling of dystopian encroachment by tech.

Attached is one of the more heinous examples from the Oregon state fair in Salem. You basically walk through a maze of mirrors with AI renderings of the Stranger things cast slapped on the mirrors (defeating the pupose of a mirror maze)and then you walk up stairs into an empty room with more slop on the wall and then straight out the exit.

Edit: Surprised about the scale of the response. Just to address the folks who are saying, "its the future get over it" or "I don't care". Why do you care enough to respond?

Hello! I am sure you get questions like this all the time, however, I am in desperate need of advice. I am born and raised in Illinois. A great friend of mine moved to UC Davis (Davis California) for graduate school. I have always wanted to get a taste of the pacific northwest. Oregon especially. Recently I had him purchase a clean used car for me in Davis. Early this October I am planning to fly out to Davis and have two weeks off work to end up back in Illinois. I want to drive up through California into Oregon and then come back through Utah and Colorado. I am really struggling on where to direct my limited few nights in Oregon. For someone who has never been to the pacific northwest in any way and will be starting in Davis CA, any recomendations? Super cute places to stay? Must see parks or towns?

In summary, self employed contractor for well over a decade have always paid a good chunk in taxes, less than age 50 came down with cancer.

Spouse works full time at a newer job, two children in middle school, and sadly, just not much of a reserve to supplement the surgeries and operation I'm looking at very soon

I have stellar insurance and pay for out of pocket but pretty heavy about how I'll be able to make ends meet while I'm recovering, plus the out of pocket they'll want.

Our children are on OHP, and we have never received any other state/gov benefits.

I am also in college again (online evenings), which hopefully I can maintain while not feeling well.

Basically, I'm heavy like so many of us, and I'm just wondering if there any resources, programs, anything to help us until I can swing a hammer again, get through school and switch careers and not be also sick by a lack of payments towards the normal costs of living.

Sadly, finances have been tough. We had to sell our home a little over two years ago, and our assets do not outweigh our fixed expenses.
