Just finished my Orphan Black binge, right in the nick of time! I was going to wait to watch the last two eps tomorrow, but I stayed up because I couldn’t bear to wait. So sad it’s leaving Netflix with no real plan for a new platform (as far as I can tell?), because I did watch it sooo quickly. I would have ideally liked to spend more time with the series, I think I got through all 5 seasons in under a week 😅

Post-binge thoughts:

Tatiana is truly remarkable.

Out of the main 4 sestras, it’s hard to pick a favorite… but I think I’d have to say Cosima. I’m a sucker for the sapphics, what can I say?? Cosima felt the most grounded to me, and honestly I think that was intentional. Sarah, Allison and Helena are all three going through pretty significant personal growth/identity crises throughout the series, but Cosima is solidly Cosima from the jump. She’s brilliant, confident, cool as fuck, so nerdy, and also deeply caring and selfless. Her tenderness really endeared me. I thought Tatiana did such a great job with her, and while she was also brilliant in portraying the others, I did perceive the occasional Cosima slip while she was Allison or Sarah. That may just be my bias though, and definitely could be accounted for by the fact that they’re clones so of course sometimes they would react similarly.

Additionally, I think Tatiana’s acting prowess was the only thing that kept the show on the rails. Even then, I felt it was touch and go here and there. Trying to explain plot details (especially further into the series) to someone who isn’t familiar with the show makes it sound almost laughably ridiculous. I typically have a very low tolerance for over-the-top plot choices, but somehow she pulls it off with these very real characters. I was continually impressed by the way she kept me invested, despite the occasional eye roll.

The supporting cast was great as well, especially Felix, Siobhan, and Delphine. Siobhan Sadler, the woman you are 😩

This has gotten long so I’ll wrap it up by saying I’m really, really glad I committed to binge the show before it leaves Netflix. I admit I was skeptical, but ended up very pleasantly surprised. And THANK YOU to the creators/writers for landing the plane so beautifully at the end. It’s always nice to have a finale that isn’t rage-inducing, but to have one that was genuinely lovely was quite refreshing.

I have many more thoughts, but I’m off to browse the sub now. Looking forward to engaging with other fans, new and old!

Just started watching it and I’ve been bingeing.. currently on S4 E10 I only have ONE SEASON LEFT but I only have THREE DAYS to finish it. I know it’s not gonna be on Netflix anymore and I don’t have AMC+. Does anyone have any idea where it’s moving to in case I don’t finish in time? Good luck is also appreciated (:

As much as I hate that netflix is losing the show, I've been so happy seeing new people discover it. It's also given me an opportunity to talk it up to people offline. I just love that it's getting more attention again.

Found it about 10 days ago and Netflix is pulling it Aug 31.

Probably fastest binge for me. Though the series made it easy to want more.

But TBH, by S4 they seemed to be approaching the ramp to jump the shark. Which is not unusual for may series by S3-S5.

I appreciate the way they wrapped it up.

Hey y’all! I’m trying to find high quality shots of the complete outfits for my custom figures, and I’ve settled on these ones in particular. But I haven’t been able to find images of Cosima’s chocolate brown thigh high boots or really any of their outfits from waist down or full body. Anyway I’d really appreciate it!

I know the actor had scheduling conflicts, but Helena and Jesse are so damn cute together. I'm sad we didn't get to see more of that on screen. I would have loved to have seen a "normie" have to adapt and learn to navigate their world. I feel like so many of the other characters either came into it already knowing what was going on or were already equipped with the skills to quickly adapt.

When this show first came out I Was extremely impressed. I was convinced that this was two girls at the very least playing multiple roles, it had to be twins.

I had seen Ringer and the Lying Game on CW and ABC Family respectively, and both had twins for main characters played be one actress, and whiel the personalities could feel different the camera work was a huge issue. It's very easy to crop a shot right down the middle so the actor can be on both sides by filming both roles, but the lengths the production went to in order to have moving camera shots with multiple clones all interacting was insane.

The clone dance party wasn't even really their best work, they just wanted to make it more obvious how much work does go into mixing them together in a less subtle way.

This is probably confusing as a concept, so let me restate... in a hypothetical world where each clone were a character in their own TV show, the clone thing not factoring in, who would you cast? This is based solely on which actress you think would best embody the role. Don't worry too much about resemblance or age.

Hello. I was wondering if Orphan Black audience see it only like Sci-Fi entertainment, or are also discussing the possibility of this scenario existing in real life.

I was told there is something called the Clone Club based on Orphan Black where they discuss the show scientifically, not just artistically.

So I watched Orphan Black as it aired, having first discovered the show when it aired the second episode in the UK. I loved it.

When the comics released, I didn't have the ability to read them, so I missed out on those, plus I never got around to The Next Chapter. As someone who loves audio dramas in general, I am planning to give it a listen and the comics a read, at some point in the near-future.

Anyhow, I started watching Echoes yesterday, with me currently watching episode 5 as I type this. The problem I have is with Lucy not knowing anything about Kira or Eleanor prior to the events of episode 4.

If I was a person who had been printed in the way Lucy knows she was and I was trying to find out who I was, I would have at least tried looking online. Surely they still have the internet on 2050? If she did a quick googling, she probably would have seen Kira's name linked to the printing of human body parts, then a further bit of research would have had her discover Eleanor.

Maybe this gets picked up later, but it seems like a pretty obvious thing to have missed in the writers room.

Ok...I loved the whole show but one thing bugged me so much!

Felix & Scott. They were hard core supports of the sestras but what about them?? I feel like they both got used in a way. I feel like Donnie was part of the plot but Felix and Scott just gave and gave and got nothing back.

Mine is 4x5 because it’s the first time I wasn’t bothered by misunderstanding humor and actually found it comedic. And the character banter and scenes were great. I honestly could never tell or believe what happened next 😭😭😭
