Hello Pantheon fans! The Pantheoncord event organizers were recently able to get in touch with Craig Silverstein, the creator of Pantheon himself. We arranged an interview with him, which we’ll be hosting live on our YouTube channel to broadcast this Thursday at 9PM Eastern Standard Time. This interview will contain spoilers for the finale of Season 2.
To create the questions we submitted for pre-screening, we combed through the subreddit and discord for some of the community’s most burning questions, especially those that Craig has never been asked in interviews before.
Our community-sourced questions for Craig range from how he came up with the original story of Caspian, to questions about the unknown fates of beloved characters, to clarifications on Pantheon’s convoluted timeline, to his opinions of the Super Bowl ad and what he would want from a third season of Pantheon if he had the chance, and much much more!
We’re excited as fans to be able to share this opportunity to speak with Craig, and are so thankful for this opportunity from him. Join the stream from our channel to hear Craig’s answers and thoughts on the lore, the creation, and the philosophy of Pantheon!
EDIT: The livestream link is here: https://youtube.com/live/VZDUHXPMtSw
Thank you all for your support, and we hope to see you there tonight!

We are not ghosts. We are not aliens. We are not machines. We are not gods. We are you.
The Pantheon Show Discord server has always been supported or thrived because of members from the subreddit joining since March 2024 and growing both communities. So, it'd be nice to consider these sister communities now one and the same, since we're all equally fans of Pantheon (just using different services to express that love). If you're interested in checking the Discord space out, here's some highlights of the Pantheoncord community:
| West | East |
|---|---|
| Fridays, 10PM Eastern Standard Time | Saturdays, 4AM Eastern Standard Time |
Get your Netflix ready, every week we watch two episodes of Pantheon! Each session (Friday night and Saturday morning) we also have a pop quiz at the end. We keep track of the stats of the overall stream, and at the end, the winner (final points split 50% culumative score and 50% placement score (1st, 2nd, 3rd...)) gets a Pantheon t-shirt! Afterwards, the post-party is discussing the episodes we watched as a group (voice or text).
A monthly event where we all read Pantheon-adjacent science fiction content (short-stories or long-form content, like Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies by Nick Bostrom).
Before each meeting, there's plenty of time to read the material. Then, the event itself is discussing it with meeting questions, and free-form discussion intertwined. Isaac Asimov, Ted Chiang, Ken Liu, and more were all featured as readings last year. It's very fascinating to explore other literary works similar to The Hidden Girl and Pantheon, while also leading towards engaging discussions on the meaning of the work.
A bi-weekly event where we just chill and play (mainly) free-to-play games as a server. Gartic Phone (some of the art has been posted here before!) and Frantic Fanfic to name a few. We've also hosted Jackbox games, Peak or Among Us sessions, and occasionally even have a Minecraft server.
The Pantheon Show Discord community is a place for like-minded fans who are passionate about Pantheon and science-fiction alike. Whether it'd be watching Pantheon-adjacent films or TV shows (Serial Experiments Lain, Severance, Mars Express, etc.), reading Pantheon-adjacent books and short stories, or otherwise just talking about it, it's a good space for re-experiencing Pantheon while exploring more. Join here.
Preview of our server through this 2-minute YouTube introduction.

Hence the Dyson Sphere, casting in and out of universes, manipulating spacetime, speed, capacity etc.
40mins into S1E8, Caspian is told he can choose "One UI to rule them all" i.e. a single UI with integrity, faster and more powerful than all other UI's.
The analogy given is that monotheism is a decent way of ensuring control over the masses, and in this episode it becomes clear that the UI technology is going to go majorly mainstream. Billions of UIs, with a need for one Higher Power.
The scene is amazing, rewatch it. The way Holstroms no2 (forgot his name) repeats "I said YOU get to choose who" and then it cuts to a scene with Maddie, explaining David Kim just died (who would have been Caspians one choice). Then the final scene of the episode is literally her stood there as people flock toward her, her house the only one with the Light emanating out the dark.
Explains how she became "God Maddie" i.e. Maddie as the only UI with True Integrity.

Haha xD, thanks folks for recommending me this show. What a wild ride! I think I understood the ending, but at the same time, I’m genuinely so lost 😅
This type of genre really isn’t for me, so I had to constantly read the wikia page to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. I’m gonna be watching some YouTube commentaries about the show as well, just to make sure I actually knew what happened 😭
What a complicated show to a person who is not tech savvy like me haha. But truly, one of the most interesting and a very new type of show indeed. Definitely gonna be recommending it to others!

Puh yeah this animated series got me.
To be honest I expected nothing out of it and really tried to do business as usual with a weekend for myself after a stressfull week.
Even though it had its ups and downs, I got attached to it and really liked some characters while hating others.
The plots mixing in as if it is all caught in a big web, so interesting.
Let's say I got a bit emotional again and basically changed as person.
The whole dynamic with endlessly spinning in a circle, some might say a nightmare, some might say something beautiful reminded me of my current life situation quite well..
More so the ending made it for me from a 8/10 to my most loved series in a while.
What stuck with me the most was the attention to detail in the whole script and also basically hinting at us sometimes that it is not all as it seems with for example Maddie and her dad following the intruders into the facility as most obvious one, while watching them as if they are ghosts.
There is just such a bittersweetness being an UI in this universe as Maddie got to be or propably was already before with her own world being simulated and her building a Dyson Sphere in not only her iteration but in countless before.
She gets the opportunity to" break out" even if it is just one barrier of manies in existence, but decides nonetheIess with not doing so and reliving what she craves the most again, unknowing of what she didn't want to know and being painless all over again, living juat in the moment while falling in love.
Her wanting to be stuck in a loop of never ending simulations really reminds me of myself and my life decisions.
This series made me decide to get out of mine right now, finally.
Sooo yeah whatever happens in the future I will rewatch the series.
Shall it lead not only me but us in bad times when we strike the most to get stuck again in our past lifes and decisions.

Any shifts or did you simply sit at the place the show walked you to? Did it spur any research into occult topics or are you still content with the life you live whilst looking for more content like this? Did none of you wonder, even a little bit, how this should could have such an intense effect on your worldview when you first clocked it?
Before you deny it or write this post off etc etc consider why you first came here, how most of the other members had responses just as intense and tell me if you think that could hint at something, within, that this sequence of animated images somehow accessed. Or, you may have another explanation as to why there are many shows and yet none of them seem to quite hit like this...
And by hit I mean only a certain subsection of humanity watched it. Matter of fact, I'd be willing to bet that if we did a profile of traits etc on people in here we'd find a few things in common. I'll let you ponder this. Or not. Feel free to downvote to oblivion if that voice in your head tells you to!

A friend of yours has watched the first episode and needs to be convinced to watch the rest. You get to choose only one image, given without further explanation, to hype him/her into watching till the end, without spoiling the show. If it cannot be linked whatsoever to anything present in episode one, it's not considered spoiling.
What did you choose?
For me it would be 😁

Been wondering for the longest time what scandal they were seeing on their phone. Took a photo of the image on the TV and still can’t make things out clearly. She seems to have red slashes on her face, and possibly a different nose? Does the photo reveal rhinoplasty? I love this sequence, I’ve just been so curious about this part

Ngl….I started watching Pantheon because I was bored and was looking for a show to pass time. I randomly saw it on my Netflix recommendation and that’s how I didn’t sleep the whole night 😅. From the first episode I saw the potential, I like how the plot was properly developed and all the characters had their own individuality and uniqueness but also well integrated into the story. It’s not everyday you see an animated show transition from Uploaded Intelligence to near WW3 and god transcendence.

Pretty much the title, I don't even know what to say except wow. This show was truly phenomenal. I would definitely go talk to everyone I know about it, but I hadn't even heard of it's existence before seeing it on Netflix. Honestly, that should be a crime
Also, the last two episodes completely caught me off guard, and I think that the fact that I can't tell if I like that or not makes me like it even more? Not sure if that makes sense, but you all probably understand.

While reading ‘Eve How the Female Body Drove 200 Million Years of Evolution’ (female body not women) reached this paragraph and thought about the show. Maddie. All women who have experienced loss:
“(Menopause chapter ending)…It’s that we outlive the men we love. We outlive our brothers and husbands and lovers and friends. We have to live on, all of us, and watch them go”

Maddie left the solar system 117,000 years ago. She's never been able to speak to or see her "original" mother or sister since she left and she never will. Maddie talks about how the pain of loss never gets easier but what about the pain of her mother and her sister losing her?
And this situation is surely doomed to happen again in many of the billions of simulated universes that Maddie created.
