Because when you can't take accountability for things in your life, its because you are a sagittarius, or maybe certain rocks can help. It surely can't be you, or your situation.
I work in a lab at a company steeped in science and one of the self proclaimed manliest men there can gab like a school girl about astrology. Makes zero sense.
I’ve wondered this myself. I grew up in a very conservative Christian home, which led to me rejecting religion by the time I was in my mid-teens. As an adult, I want nothing to do with anything “spiritual”.
It’s because of our thirst for something higher in this universe or something greater than our worldly existence. Being an atheist is actually tough in our current society. Not tough as in being persecuted but more of the fact that you don’t get to believe in a happily ever after.
I’d consider myself an agnostic person, used to be atheist. But after losing some friends and family and loved ones, I hope there’s some sort of peace or reconciliation after death. I don’t really pray or base my actions on religion, but I do hope something better awaits. If not, then I wouldn’t know anyway.
This is the reason so many people leave organized religion and then get lost in spirituality and new age mysticism. They’re trying to solve their problems in the same old way but with new gods and priests, without the trauma from their old ones. That’s why some people go with the “we’re all energy or that universe is guiding me and I’ll be one with the universe after death” because the idea of an uncaring reality, sans morality or justice is scary.
Tarot isn’t worshipping something so much as it is asking the universe/spirits/etc for guidance. Some people use tarot without working with deities, others do, but tarot readings (speaking from firsthand experience) can be scary accurate to whatever situation you’re consulting about.
Each card has their own meaning, so to get several in a row in the same reading that are relevant to the user’s question/plea for guidance and none that aren’t is remarkable. It’s happened for me several times.
Edit: I’m someone who needs evidence of things, too, btw, and I’ve been convinced.
I spent a good year diving into tarot cards, readings, meanings etc.
Was very interesting and opened my mind to a lot of things I would be thinking about subconsciously.
But like any sane and rational person, there's no magic or spirits or anything to do with it, each card's reading in its position is general enough for anyone to make a connection to it. Just like the episode of South Park where everyone thinks Stan is clairvoyant.
ive coming behind and been upvoting you, its not fair to you that these people have no grasp of the importance of spiritual practice for humanity. Really sad, actually
I've seen it parroted since I was younger and just anecdotal. As I grew I saw it more and more. Turning things over to a higher power isn't new for people who have messed up for sure.
