Yeah and that also doesn’t account for the process of elimination, there is often an answer you may know is not correct, so really depending on how the test is written, it could be quite a bit easier to pick wrong answers

This. Most multiple choice questions are 50/50 with two throw away answers.

If you want to get a zero it's actually pretty easy because you just pick a throw away answer for each question.

The teacher doesn't know that the student knows any of the material, but he/she does know that this person most likely deliberately got a zero.
