It's always ""funny"" when economist say shit like "deflation would be bad for the economy" "we cannot solve it" and ignore the fucking huge reason behind it that causes it. Like fucking billionaires hording all the wealth while average people cant afford to live... But god forbid, it's unimaginable to have a little bit of wealth re-distribution so average people live better and spend more...
Economy is just another term for billionaires private net worth at this point. We should not care about it, only issue is, they privatize winning and socialize losing, so they make it everyone's problem if they gamble and lose...

Yeah, economists are pretty against this as well. It's literally the antithesis of a free-market economy.
And yes, deflation would be terrible for the economy (and workers) for a number of reasons, and we have strong historical evidence to support it (see the Great Depression, among others). Many people would lose their jobs and poverty rates would skyrocket. When you have no incentive to put money into the economy, economic activity (which fuels jobs) drops. If your cash accrues value just by sitting under your mattress, why wouldn't you just keep it there?
Stable, predictable inflation is the best way to maintain good economic conditions.
Economist and Democratic Socialist here. Deflation is REALLY BAD for our economic system. We can redistribute wealth and control of industry without deflation.
But yeah, I feel mostly the same with how our country and world is going right now…
A great example of leftists and socialists having no idea about even the most basic economic concepts. They'll happily see everyone out of work and without money as long as The Party proclaims that bread is cheap.
