I have massive respect for Greninja, but Charizard is just build different & i have few points to back my statement.

The Rivalry factor : Charizard LITERALLY closed the book on Ash's ultimate Rivalry with Gary by sweeping away half of team on his own. Greninja had the entire Kalos League hyped up for his moment, only to choke against Alain’s Charizard in the grand finals. (Things could have been different without mega evolution but it is what it is :)

The ARTICUNO Win : Greninja fans love to excuse the Alain loss by saying Mega Charizard was too OP. But base Charizard literally took down a wild Legendary Bird 1v1 without a single gimmick or Mega Stone. If Charizard can overpower a Legendary on raw grit and valley training, Greninja has no excuse for dropping his biggest match while using a built-in superpower form.

The Disrespect Factor : Charizard didn't just win; he humiliated his opponents. He physically grabbed heavy-tier bosses like Dragonair and Blastoise, carried them into the upper atmosphere, and dropped them via Seismic Toss. Greninja just threw giant water shurikens from a distance because he lacked the raw physical strength to manhandle his opponents.

The Disobedience Contrast : Charizard was such a powerhouse that he literally chose when to fight. His early losses weren't because he got overpowered, he just didn't care. Meanwhile, Greninja was fully obedient, had a literal psychological mind-meld with Ash, and still couldn't get the job done when everything was lined up for him.

The Power Scaling Reality : In the Unova region, Charizard casually showed up and completely clowned on Iris's Dragonite (a modern-gen powerhouse) without breaking a sweat. Greninja struggled and got knocked out by standard regional rivals because his base power form just wasn't on that tier.

The "Handout" vs. The Grind : Charizard didn't get his strength handed to him by a magical prophecy or a special "Battle Bond" gimmick. He earned it by leaving Ash behind to pull a 24/7 solo grind in the brutal Charicific Valley. Greninja needed a specialized superpower form just to stay relevant.

⭐ Sceptile completely outclassed Shiftry. It used its superior agility to navigate the battlefield and landed a decisive victory, proving its dominance over other Grass-types.

⭐ It completely shattered Claydol's defensive walls. Facing a bulky, telekinetic opponent, Sceptile powered through its psychic barriers to secure a massive win.

⭐ It outmaneuvered Speed Forme Deoxys, the fastest entity alive. Sceptile proved its own legendary speed by tracking and striking down an actual Mythical Pokémon in its quickest state.

⭐ It fought a type-disadvantage Blaziken to a historic standstill. Matching a powerful Fire/Fighting-type blow-for-blow, Sceptile locked down a legendary draw that cemented its elite status.

Ash is practically skipping into Lumiose 🌹 This boy is so goofy 🤣

By rewrite i mean add pokemon, remove pokemon, unevolve pokemon, or just improve the base team essentially if you were writing journeys how would you do it.

2 more things to mention

1 - Asking for journeys team not a galar only version so ash is still travling the world not just galar. Give him more galar mons or even a full galar team but there should be a reason as to why.

2 - Give me something to rate, Everyone knows ash shouldve been brining back his older mons but still dont just say that. Tell me what the old mons would even do other than just being there and the occasional evolution or just give him a new team alongside brining old mons (you do not have to bring old mons back btw)
