Wimpy cameos in Public Domain Funnies variant cover
while this comic is based on a old Popeye story from 1929, it’s nice to see our hamburger gobbling man here, maybe the artists found out Wimpy and Bluto has their debuts not renewed and might add them in cameos. I hope to see a Bluto appearance But at least We have hamburger man here.

An actual good use of Popeye now that he’s public domain: He shows up in the comic “Rocketeer: The Island” by IDW
He’s not in the comic much, but he’s the captain of the boat the Rocketeer uses to get to Skull Island (yes, the one with King Kong, also in public domain). I think it’s a pretty cool example of how Popeye can be used now that he’s free for all to access.

Help: I'm looking for a particular Popeye episode where Popeye gets beat down by "a rain of punches"
I saw this way back on Toonami. All I remember is that this was during the climax where Popeye is on the backfoot right before he eats his spinache. As usual, his opponent is wailing on him, but there's also a narrator announcing all the action. Every time, the narrator makes a metaphor of the type of beating Popeye's receiving, only for his opponent to literally do what the narrator says. Like the announcer would say "Popeye is getting hammered down", and his opponent actually turns into a hammer while smashing down on Popeye. The scene that stuck out to me is the narrator says "He [the opponent] is raining down on em [Popeye]", and then the opponent is replaced with a barrage of dismembered fists raining down from the sky.
Does anyone know which episode this is? This scene has been stuck in my head, and I really wanna see it again. Thanks in advance!

I want to make my own Popeye Anthology
I have 4 animated short ideas, and want to make it into an anthology series. Its all based on Popeye comic characters with original stories with heavy inspiration from the Original Comic Strips.

As a brawler it's scary 'cause it eats its Berries, it's Alwotaiyam the Sailor Mon!
I chose Popeye to make into a Mythical Pokemon because Texas loves Popeye and has a nearby sea. Also, Mastertofu0 on Discord helped with the name.
Hamwotaiyam
Hammer + A corruption of “I yam wot I yam”
Type
Berry Eater Pokémon
Evolves into Alwotaiyam after eating 20 Berries
Biology: Hamwotaiyam is a shark Pokémon with green skin and a hammerhead. Its pectoral fins are quite large, and it uses them and its caudal fin to sort of waddle around on land.
Pokédex Entry (Earth): Unlike a typical shark Pokémon, Hamwotaiyam eats more plants than meat. It is quite strong for its size.
Pokédex Entry (Space): Known for its heroics and bravery, it often gets along well with Smoliv.
Ability: Eat to the Finich
When this Pokémon eats a Berry, its Attack and Defense are boosted by 1 stage.
Stats
HP: 60
Atk: 70
Def: 55
SpA: 20

Alwotaiyam
A corruption of “And that’s all wot I yam”
Grass/Water
Berry Eater Pokémon
Evolves from Hamwhataiyam after consuming 20 Berries
Biology: Alwotaiyam is a humanoid shark Pokémon with a hammerhead. It has seagrass-green skin, a thick chin that’s split down the middle, and massive arms that end in massive hands. Its legs end in fin feet that resemble swim fins, though far shorter so it can move around without tripping.
Pokédex Entry (Earth): An incredibly rare seafaring Pokémon. It uses its immense power to help those in need.
Pokédex Entry (Space): This Pokémon usually has the strength to lift a train with one arm. If it has recently eaten seagrass or a berry, it can lift an aircraft carrier.
Ability: Eat to the Finich
