Has anyone ever wondered if this is a preparatory run to show us what they will do when Trump has HIS potentially inevitable health collapse?

I am NOT wishing this on ANYONE. To be clear.

Don't worry, I'm wishing hard enough for both of us

Yes, many, MANY people have/are wondering this exact thing.

And since it’s working like effing clockwork, they’ll do it with Grassley, or Collins, or any other decrepit GOP ghoul that goes legs up during this racist nightmare we’re currently living through.

Further.. if one of them happens to croak in a way they can't hide, they'll just appoint one of their ideologically aligned siblings to fill the gap.

You know, like a proper monarchy.

Of course it is

I initially thought the same way, but I have to imagine that JD is going to be absolutely power hungry when the menace is actually gone, and I feel like there's no way he let's it stand for long.

His whole cabinet is going to cannibalize itself. I get the impression that many of them hate each other.

JD is blessed to have no idea of his own personal limitations. Like so many in this movement.

I kinda feel that’s the big punch though.

The only holding the community together is trumps bloated self. Once he goes, I imagine JD will tap Theil, from there I imagine things going haywire with minor fiefdoms.

Yeah, that's what I imagine too. Trump has built a coalition through fear of people who are willing to eat his shit to get what they want but they will never get behind eating each other's shit.

Trump is in the unique position where he doesn't have to worry about his career. He probably doesn't have to worry about his life in general much longer. All those other chuds like JD can't get away with the insane, illegal shit he does to punish people because they've got a MUCH longer clock to run out. Not to mention the fact simply no one in that cabinet has the virulent charm that Trump has to own a populist movement of lunatics.

I say no, because Trump is different. He's a spotlight animal. I don't think shadow tweets will satisfy his base indefinitely.

We have seen Natalie writing his tweets for him right now.

He IS a spotlight animal. And that makes his continued (real or claimed) existence useful for his billionaire friends.

No. We have the 25th amendment and we'll all know when trump is dead because his ugly mug and nasty demeanor won't be on television all day long.

We’ve got the emoluments clause, too, and that hasn’t slowed the grift.

We’ve got the 14th Amendment, and that hasn’t stopped the removal of our rights and the protection of our citizenship.

For the 25th Amendment to work, someone has to have the spine to trigger it— and frankly, it should have been triggered before now.

Very powerful people help keep him where he is and he is, unfortunately, pretty unique in his ability to lie and say crazy things to distract while the plundering continues.

So you think Vance would be fine not being POTUS even with trump dead? Makes no sense.

it should have been triggered before now.

Removing a president from office via the 25th is almost an impossibility if you can't even get an impeachment/ convicting in Congress.
