I really wanted to love this truck, but at just 1,500 miles, I’m at my absolute wit's end. You don't expect an $80,000 with that sheer number of quality control, and electrical issues from week one is completely unacceptable.
Paint Defects: Paint is noticeably bubbling/blistering right where the passenger door closes and near the ram box.
Battery Failures: Both batteries had to be completely replaced within the first week of ownership.
Erratic Throttle Response: Severe power delivery issues. I’ll give it 50% gas, get almost nothing, and then suddenly all the power dumps at once at times.
Camera Glitches: The front and 360-degree cameras constantly flash blue and black at times.
Recalls: Already hit with two active recalls.
The Dealer & RAM Care Nightmare:
The initial local dealer at Mayagüez Triangle threw a wave of software updates at it, but none of them fixed the camera issues. I brought them the pickup three times, one staying for a week and I got a awful jeep compass as a loaner, which I get is better than nothing.
Thinking I'd get better treatment where I spent my money and got a service appointment, I drove 2 hours back to the dealership where I actually purchased the truck. When I arrived, they flat out told me they couldn't service it due to a "lack of personnel." Their compensation for wasting 4 hours of my round-trip drive and gas? A horrible free car wash and telling me to come back another day. This was at AutoCentro Caguas. Not even an apology. Still waiting for the service supervisor to call me back.
To top it off, RAM Care has been useless. Their primary response so far is telling me to drive 3 hours away to a third different dealership just to get the truck inspected again, where I'll likely hear the exact same answer.
At what point do I stop playing dealer roulette and start looking into Lemon Law and state buyback attorneys? Any advice on how to escalate past standard RAM Care reps would be hugely appreciated.
Edit: I have a 2026 RAM 1500 Rebel fully loaded.
