Reggina disposed of Serie D newboys PraiaTortora after the Cosenza-based club went down to 10 men 18 minutes into the first half, when Romanian defender Demian Popovici apparently slapped Rosario Girasole. The Amaranto then put on 7 goal show and dominated the rest of the game. My player of the match was 18-year-old Genoa-loanee Filippo Toscano, who subbed on in the 1st half at left midfield after an injury to Andrea Palmieri. Toscano had an assist and an impressive goal, and he looked mature beyond his years.
Lagingro wasn't tested much aside from a great save in the first half when the visitors still had full strength. Lancini wore the captains armband and passed it to Laaribi when the midfielder subbed on in the second half.
Our league play will begin next Sunday September 6th against promotion contenders Licata at the Granillo.
