Got this new square lens hood for my ricoh + some shots from my latest Bavaria trip

I know, it defeats the purpose of pocket-ability but I rarely find myself putting my camera in my pocket anyway, I usually pop it in a small carry pouch which then goes in my bag.

Cant wait to keep taking awesome pictures with this absolute beast of a camera!

Lens hood ref: Haoge LH-GR3XH

Recently bought a Ricoh GR IV and I love it. BUT I have noticed something a little odd.

Some context, my job means I use a lot of different cameras so I’m reasonably good at spotting weird little differences here and there.

The GR IV I have seems to almost be performing like a mini HDF. I was getting a bit of characteristic from it then took it to a festival recently and the haze or diffusion was so uniform around the fairy lights it made me wonder.

I know it doesn’t have a literal haze filter because of the ND, but has anyone noticed some ‘added character’ over the GR III standard model?

I don't know if this is good for the prices for the time when my GR II dies and I want to buy a new one, but it was way more fun to share and discuss photos here than let them rot on the drive so here goes pt. Fujifilm X-T5 for dedicated photoshoots and GRIV for any other occasions is the perfect combo for me

trying out my new camera and new editing styles :)

Love having the camera with me although it does mean frequent stops to capture interesting things! All shot in raw and edited in Lightroom Mobile with Sean Dalton film pack as a base and then slightly adjusted to match the vibes.

Photos shot in the past 2 years.
Mountain, Sea, Train, Sakura, Animals, Maple . Just love the nature and will explore more with Gr3x and motorcycle.

Goodbye wildflowers, snow soon!

Some shots around the Australian alpine region during a short hike all using the Hard Monotone preset, SOOC cropped to 3:4. I fell into a deep bank of snow with the Rioch at one stage, the lens compartment completely jammed with snow and why the second shot has that hazy quality to it given I was struggling to get the snow out. Camera seems okay for now. I had intended to shoot more but fractured my spine the following day when I slipped on some black ice (not recommended).

SooC. Ofcourse it's the fantastic Reggie's colour negative.

How do you setup yours? Any tips/suggestions to improve the settings?

Positive Film recipe, then some minor JPG edits in Luminar. On this trip I took my GR III as my only camera and left my Sony A6600 + lens at home and it continues to impress me with sharpness and portability!

My sister let me borrow her camera for my trip to manhattan. First time using this camera how’d I do?? I’m getting kinda interested in photography lol I might buy my own gr iv

I see everyday someone contemplating getting a gr4/3 and here i am still figuring out gx100 Caplio. Let me know what you guys think. I am self taught, picked this up last year.

Anybody else have a “Lens Error” with their GRIV?

Had this and now my snap focus distances are no longer accurate/sharp. And generally the autofocus is not accurate. Camera still “functions” though. So I’m stopping down to compensate focus sharpness.

If anyone else had experienced this and has a fix, would appreciate any advice.

So far I’ve tried:
- Battery out and back in after a few mins
- Light tapping to dislodge any debris potentially in lens mechanism.
